The space was in a large parking lot that was not marked for separate businesses. As I was sitting in my room, we heard a lot of clatter outside and saw that our car was loaded onto a towing truck! I went outside to see what what was going on only to find out that this towing company was working for a bail bond company that was entrapping people. If we weren't supposed to park there, a no parking sign would be in order. Instead of having a sign posted where it could be seen, theirs was small and posted behind the phone number in the window. We are elderly and retired. The truck driver was extremely rude and we had to pay to get our car. If we hadn't looked out the window, we have awoken to a missing car and had to call the police. So much for Georgia.

Affordable Towing and Lockout might decide that they don't want to pick you up after they've made…read moreyou wait an hour or more. My brother's car broke down and I picked him up where he had been towed - Tirequest, a place that is literally minutes from Affordable Towing. We needed the Car towed about fifteen minutes down the road, and asked the gentlemen at Tirequest who they would recommend. They immediately said "Affordable Towing." We called them and they told us they would be there to pick up my brother's car in 30 minutes. We wait for 40 and then call back. The gentleman at Affordable then tells us that he hasn't sent someone yet. When we ask why, he says he had 'truck problems' and hadn't been able to start it until just then, right when we called (hmm). He told us it would be another 30 minutes. We wait another 30 minutes, no one in sight. We try to call Affordable again and they don't pick up. We try again, they don't pick up. We try again, and we realize that the gentleman on the Affordable end is hanging up on us. We keep calling, keep getting one ring and then a dead line. Finally, we get an answer and the gentleman at Affordable is upset that we are trying to reach him. We ask him where his truck is, he proceeds to get mad and try to deflect and change the subject. He then asks us "Do you really think I'm going to send someone out on a Saturday evening?" ... Well, yeah, guy, you told us you were going to send someone out. Twice, in fact. He tells us "You can find someone else." Yeah, loud and clear. Big waste of time, when time was precious. Rude and confusing service. Next time, buddy, just tell us you don't wanna pick us up!!!

He was asked to call when he was on the way and was given two phone numbers where we could be reached. We waited for him to arrive. No call. At almost 2 I sent a text asking if he was coming as we had scheduled (hoping he was just running behind) and he replied that "I can't but I do have my back up company can still same price it 41 towing." I explained to him that I was relying on him and I would find someone else. He replied that he can't tow when the tow truck is down. While this is true, he had TWO different numbers where he could have communicated that to us so that we could make other arrangements.

Unprofessional and unreliable service…read more Progressive assigned Smith Transport & Towing ( 803-509-4127) for my roadside assistance today. I opened the call at 8:30 a.m. after my car broke down due to mechanical issues less than half a mile from my house. Despite repeated updates saying help was "30 minutes away," no one arrived until 1:00 p.m. When the driver finally showed up, he got upset because I had given my home address instead of the exact breakdown spot -- even though he found me less than two minutes away from the car. Instead of helping, he argued, didn't like how I replied, and refused service, saying "I am the company" before leaving. After waiting over four hours, I was left stranded. Progressive should reconsider using this company.
