Imagine this... it's 11:40 AM in the sweltering Sachse heat. Alas upon the horizon I spot a Bahama Bucks. At first I thought I was hallucinating by alas 'twas true. And as if the big man upstairs would have it, there was no line. I pulled up to the drive thru and placed my order. 2 regular sized Caribbean colas. A rather simple recipe... literally just over priced coke with vanilla syrup. After pulling up to the window I waited 1...2...3...4...5...6...7 minutes. I thought I was going to die from dehydration. Since I splurged on an over priced drink I had to turn my car AC off. Finally the window opened and I forked over my $6... and received my drinks... with foam and syrup dripping down the sides and collected at the top of the lid... she didn't even offer napkins for the mess she was handing me. Once settled in my car I realized my cups were not actually filled completely... I'm sure the missing 25% of my drink was what was on the lid and down the sides of my cup. Who doesn't love shaved ice? It was a hot day when my sister and I went to Bahama Buck's. Mostly teens work at this location! I got a strawberry shaved iced and it was the bomb! The shaved ice is really soft and I just love that a lot. There was not any white iced at the bottom or anywhere at all! Fully covered so that is a plus! My sister got a watermelon and she loved it! Says it tasted like how it is suppose to be! They also gave us some color temperature changing spoons and im obsessed with that. The only issue I have with this place is that it took 15 mins for my shaved ice to come out. There was noone in front of us so I do not know why it took so long for it to come out. I've always loved this place but I'm not sure if I'll go back now. I picked up my order through the drive through and as I left I realized there was no flavoring in the center-just ice. So I went back and told them about it. Well they must have just dumped the flavoring on it. While I was driving, it would spill every time I hit a bump or whenever I would turn. Worst service ever the girl at the window took our card and didn't give it back and shut the window on us then when we drove around to try and get our card back the lady who helped us ignored us and then finally came to the window and got mad at us for trying to talk to her at the window and was very rude when we asked for a card back never coming here again I hope the lady at the window gets fired because she sucked. read more

I've only been here a few times. But every time I go I get something different and it's amazing. The first time I went I ordered a "Baby Strawberry" which is just simple shaved ice with strawberry syrup. I have to admit the shaved ice flavors are amazing. Although my aunt strongly disliked the watermelon syrup, she did enjoy the blue raspberry syrup. She orders a "Baby Watermelon and Blue raspberry with crème" which is shaved ice with watermelon and blue raspberry syrup with ice cream in the bottom. And she loved it. (With the exemption of watermelon) I'm going to start going to Bahama bucks at least once a week. I recommend you do too. read more

Very lalalarge selection of flavors to choose from! Even pickle?? Pricing is reasonable for the amount you get in my opinion. The smallest size (baby) is 8oz, roughly half of a water bottle, for $3. I like to pair two flavors per cup at no extra cost. Pink Lemonade + Hurricane is my favorite. :-) I always get the shaved ice; it's sooo smooth. I come here year round, even in the winter! The wait sometimes takes a little longer than you'd like but it's very much worth it in the end. read more

Bahama Bucks is, hands down, the best shaved ice ever. They have a huge selection of flavors, the most I've seen anywhere. They also have smoothies, coffee drinks, and other goodies. Everyone we've ever introduced to Bahama Bucks has become an instant fan. They also have extended hours in the summer, staying open until 11 pm on the weekends. The prices seem a little high at first, but keep in mind they give you very large servings and the quality is excellent. This place is the real deal. I know it looks like a chain snow cone spot when you are driving up and it is BUT you can't tell when you have a snow cone here. They have TONNNNNS of flavors and all sorts of different drinks to choose from. Coffee,Smoothies, Snow Cones etc. etc. They also have sugar free snow cones for you diabetics out there. I always order my snow cone flat on top and skip the dome because it's a pain in the ass to eat it that way for me for some reason. (not retarded but I guess I'm pretty close) Anyway, the ice and cream are what really bring it home for me. It has the exact same texture as snow. No lie. Melts in your mouth like frozen cotton candy and hits the spot everytime. Add cream to any snow cone to really top it all off. They have a "ring game" that is perfect for betting your buddies on the round of snow cones you are waiting on. Get here ASAP. Enjoy. read more

This place is so slow, and staffed with incompetent teenagers. We ordered two small shaved iced with no one else in line in front of us or waiting behind us. It still took almost 20 minutes to make our order. The product is good but the service sucks. There were 5 employees inside, but only two working and the other three on their phones. I'm a regular at Cool Cones near Hawaiin Falls, but he's closed for the holidays. I've never had them so I decided to try Bahama Bucks out. First, the snow cone texture is amazing for sure. However, that's where the greatness stops. The teenager running the place Waited for about 5 minutes before opening the window to take my order. The flavors - I got pomegranate and sweet tart - were so so. They were obviously mass produced stuff unlike cool cones, whose flavors are hand mixed and STRONG. The weirdest thing was how they actually made the snowcone. He used an entire block of ice for MY snowcone. They push the ice into the cup by hand, then fashion a cone on top as best they can with their hands. Then they just pour the syrup everywhere, if I was the manager I'd be firing people for waste. The syrup was ALL over the cup and it was intentional. They cleaned it up nicely before handing it to me, but it was the biggest mess I've seen intentionally done! I'll be sticking with Cool Cones...much bigger snow cones, better prices, and FREE sweet cream. They also serve a Pic-a-dilly...a snowcone with sliced pickles throughout!! read more

Yummy. Kids had a smoothie and I had shave ice. A little ridiculous wait time... 15+ minutes... I say plus because my sons drink came out 10 minutes before my daughters and mine came 5 minutes after hers. So in total we waited 20 minutes for our treats. One time I went there and my snow cone had some type of oil stuff in it? It smelled like machine oil, and it was black. I got the Birthday Cake snow cone, and it should have been clear. Disgusting.
