The menu is huge and rotates, so there's always something for everyone. They also have a rotating selection of local ice creams! I had the tea latte flavor & loved it, but the lavender was a little too strong for my friends. The pie-themed and historical decor is really cool and very comforting. Checked out this pie shop a while ago with my brother and we really enjoyed what we ordered for the most part. We got the Cinco De Pie-yo, Chocolate Cream, Lemon Berry Blues, and Chocolate Euphoreo. The pies were great! The chocolate cream was my absolute favorite - it was light and not too sweet. My brother enjoyed the chocolate euphoreo one the most but he's also a huge fan of cookies and cream, so no surprise there. If you enjoy a tart flavor, you'd definitely like the lemon berry blues pie. It was a bit strong for me, but not too bad. Their menu changes every day with the exception of a few items. Was at work when I noticed it was National Pie Day (similar but not to be confused with Pi day, March 14th). I did a quick Google search and wanted something different than the usual pie places near me. I saw an Instagram post by Piefalootin with a list of what was available. I decided then in the middle of the Thursday work day that I was going to go after work. I headed over immediately at was first it line for what would seem like their evening rush. Everyone was friendly and inviting when i walked in. The place is well lit and very clean. They have antique heirlooms all throughout the store from the walls and even the tables that give this place a nice charm. I ordered the Coconut Cream Pie, Chocolate Cream Pie, Cherry Pie and the Buttermilk Pie. When I was checking out they were sure to ask how long it would take me to get home. When I told them 30-45 mintues they included a reusable ice pack to keep the pie at the perfect temp unil I got home. This was my first time having Buttermilk Pie and I really enjoyed it. The texture was firm yet soft compared to the Cream pies I ordered. Just the right amount of sweet. I enjoyed all the pies and look forward to coming back. #ThankYouThursday is tomorrow and I'm just so thrilled to be able to celebrate some of my favorite local businesses around town. I've grown up in North Dallas/Richardson my whole life and can't believe I've never heard of Piefalootin until yesterday. Wow! What. A. Bakery. Tracy (sp?) was so kind in explaining the special pies of the week and what each consisted of, flavor-wise. They offer pie "flights" where you get to try 3 different pie flavors for $15. Now let me tell you, this is worth it. Especially if you're open to tasting more than one option. The shop is absolutely adorable with its cute pie puns and colorful decor. You can tell you are walking into a place of warmth and kindness as soon as you enter. We took home 2 different flights of pies. That's six pieces total: German chocolate, key lime, Best of Both Worlds, apple crumble, lemon ice box, and a strawberry topped pie I can't recall the name of. I can report back that the Best of Both Worlds lives up to its name. It's a perfect combination of the coconut and German chocolate pie I believe. I'll get back to the rest of the review once my tummy has room for the others. Do yourself a favor and go for something recommended rather than the traditional pie you're used to. This is a special shoutout to the ladies of Piefalootin who were so kind enough to bake a special order whole apple crumble pie on a day that they are closed so my husband could have his favorite dessert on his birthday. He said it was probably the best pie he has ever had - perfect crust, great flavor, not too sweet. He said he could taste the love that went into it, which made the difference between a bakery pie vs a store bought pie - everything was just right. This past Sunday was my daughter's birthday. At the last minute, she indicated she would like to have either a Chocolate Cream Pie or a Lemon Meringue Pie in lieu of a cake. Not wanting to disappoint, I got busy trying to find someplace that might have whole pies for sale. After some diligent searching, I decided to swing by Piefalootin on the way to my daughter's place. Since it was a Sunday, we were ecstatic to find Piefalootin! There, we met Cooper and Hanna who were running things and who clued us in to all of the antique tools and nicknacks about the small, very unassuming pie shop. While antique tools are a bit of an oddity to associate with pies, it somehow works in this quaint little shop with its own unique history. After discussing the aforementioned we got down to the business at hand... pie! We expressed our daughter's wishes and after a brief search, Cooper found a Chocolate Cream that was available for the taking. All that was needed for it to become our pie was a topping. Hanna was kind and literally whipped the topping up in a couple of minutes. As we discussed pie, pie crust, and my and Cooper's military service, we learned that Piefalootin honors military veterans with a discount. We were very appreciative of the gesture. We paid for our pie and away we went! Fast forward to back at my daughter's place AFTER dinner, it was time for a slice of pie. Not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised to taste that not only was the whipped topping real whipped cream, but that it was unsweetened. This was great because the "chocolate cream" was very rich and very sweet. The chocolate cream had the consistency of very VERY soft fudge; not at all like your typical jello® pudding-filled "Chocolate Cream" Pies. Thicker than those but still creamy. The pie was delicious and - did I mention?? - very rich! The crust was crisp and flaky, not soggy... Just like my momma used to make, when she would make the jello-filled versions for a local, Dallas area restaurant. I definitely recommend Piefalootin, if you're in need of... well... pie. I would also recommend, however, that because the pie was so rich, one plan to have it outside of mealtime. Meaning, not necessarily as a "dessert." Rather, as a treat to go with an afternoon coffee or hot tea between meals. Cooper and Hanna were so pleasant and our experience was so positive, I do hope you will give this business a try. Perfect combination of fresh strawberries, nuts, cream in a delicious crust. It was amazing! The Pineapple and Ah Man Joy were a bit too sweet for my taste. My son loved the Key Lime and the Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake. Only item in the bunch that wasn't up to snuff compared to the other options, the coconut cream.
