This is my second visit to Bahama Nails. Make an appointment. They have a strict calendar they go by. If you choose certain services, you need to stick to them due to time... at least that's what I heard them tell one of the customers when their adolescent wanted to upgrade a service... but again... that means more time and they are quite busy and have a steady traffic of clientele. I asked my wife for her candid opinion and she does like the place. The pedicure treatment is nice with hot towels and massage on your legs with a hot stone too. However, my wife did feel the person doing her pedicure was a little rushed. We got there on time, so it's not like time was wasted. My lady was nice and took her time with my clunky man feet and did a nice job on my toe nails and took all the old skin off... c'mon, everyone knows the process... yes, I notice couples in here all the time.... so ladies.... bring your significant other.... he will thank you. ****SPOILER ALERT***** they have new pedicure chairs and the massage is great. I previously had a wonderful experience at Bahama nails, as they did my manicure & pedi for my wedding. Lily was wonderful. However after my appointment yesterday I've changed my tune.. one of the weirdest salon experiences in my life. A man did my mani pedi (didn't get his name) but the gel mani pedi took TWO hours, and almost half of that time was spent by him trying to convince me to let him be me & my husband's realtor (we're not looking to buy a house) and giving me "advice" on how to save money, because since I've only been married a year he assumed we're broke. Goes into stories about his "other job" where he approves people for Medicare/Medicaid and tells me that he doesn't do actual evaluations he just approves everybody who comes in because he "feels bad for all the teenage pregnant girls". He then started talking about the Vietnam war (???) and I politely mentioned that my grandfather is a Vietnam veteran, to which he replied that my grandpa probably had children over there with Vietnamese prostitutes. (wtf????) Then repeatedly tells me that I need to bring my husband with me next time so he can teach us how to save money. Two hours later and $105 short I'm leaving with a manicure that I could have done better at home. One of my toenails is only painted halfway and I didn't even notice until I got home because I just wanted to run out the door. **UPDATE** Instead of taking my review seriously, the owner tried to threaten me with her lawyer and began insinuating that im racist??? Screenshots attached. Ive tried this place twice now. Please avoid. There are so much better places to go in Apopka. The older female employee has had a wet cough for weeks. At least the the first time I went (two weeks ago) she was wearing a face shield. Now she's just no masking it with what sounds like pnuemonia. The nails after my first appointment were good. The tech was just a little rude. I came in today for a refresh. I decided to try their wine today. Literally what makes them stand out. I asked what kind they had and the older employee said "white or red." Uh? Okay? Obviously? They then brought me the tiniest glass of wine I've ever seen. I mean less than two shot glasses worth of wine. The nail tech takes out her equipment and literally begins taking dead skin off of it *in front of me*. She then sprays with an unmarked liquid bottle. I hope it was alcohol. She begins to *massacre* my cuticles. She files, pushes and cuts them multiple times. I'm bleeding from multiple fingers. She doesn't understand "almond shape" somehow. I show her a picture and the manager tries to explain. She says she understands. Instead, she gives me completely rounded nails and removes almost all of my length. The nails aren't even shaped well. My nail shape is completely ruined At this point, I'm pissed and just want the Polish on so I can go. The Polish looks nothing like the color on the bottle. I say this to her and she shrugs. Just continues applying the color like I said nothing. The nail tech next to her told me it would get darker with layers. Spoiler: it did not. The nail tech is fully coaching her how to put on Polish at this point. At some point, she gets debris in the color. Probably from the multiple times she pushed my hand further back into the UV light until they smashed up against the wall. She's scratching hard at my nails to get it off (ow). When that doesn't work, she takes a file to it. Then **instead of wiping off the debris from filing she just paints over it**. My nails are lumpy, poorly shaped, and bleeding. I took the (very young) manager outside to keep from making a scene. I asked if my tech is licensed. She said yes. I don't believe she is. I don't think a licensed tech would have sanitized the way this woman did. I don't think she would have made half of the mistakes. I will be filing a complaint. They can show the documentation to the authorities. read more

Wow! What took me so long to try this adorable salon. The decor matches their name. CDC guidelines are definitely being followed including sanitizing my hands with a spray bottle before entering the room. Normally I have some kind of ding or mistake on my fingernails by the next day but I'm still lovin my nails 3 days later. I got a regular mani-pedi and was served a complimentary glass of wine. I recently moved to Orlando and after trying two other salons I found Bahama nail salon. I use Diane every time, she is absolutely amazing. She takes her time and makes sure your nails are exactly how you want them. I had a photoshoot coming up this weekend and I showed her a picture of my outfit and she matched my nails perfectly. I get dip done every time and she even added a design. I'm extremely happy with the end results and recommend using Diane if you ever go to Bahama Nails. read more

Diane was amazing. I was originally going to go to my usual nail spa but because of new ownership and an hour wait, I refused and I remembered I heard about this place! They took me in immedi and everything went so nicely. They offered me something to drink and told me it would be maybe 5 minutes for Diane to show up for her shift. When she got there she got right to work and I i really appreciated it. Easy conversation and positive attitude all the way. Felt so nice to be cared about. Great work!! Today marked my 3rd visit to Bahama Nails. I've been getting pink and white nails now for about 2 years and I switched to Bahama Nails only because it is far more convenient and time efficient than the previous place I went. I'm pretty neutral about the place to be honest. PROS: + located close to house in Altamonte + nails only take 45 minutes + great atmosphere - very beachy + they serve daiquiris and wine + friendly nail techs + good quality nails CONS: + nails start to break when going into week 3 (typically I'm used to this because I play beach volleyball but these nails have actually never broken from volleyball but from general day-to-day stuff which isn't really acceptable) + most of the nail techs make the nails extremely thin (not good for someone who is very active) + price same as my previous place (Le Nails in Sanford Mall) but aren't as good of quality + they have to trim the white using tools instead of free-hand which doesn't look quite as good While I think the quality at my previous nail place was far superior, it was just too out of the way and took twice as long so I'll continue to come here. The pros and cons tend to even out and I think I finally found a nail tech here who does thicker nails which is nice. Make sure to schedule an appointment because this place does stay packed. read more

I wanted to love this place so much I so badly needed a mommy break and decided to head over. The front desk girl was very sweet & so was the girl who did my pedicure. The gentleman who did my nails (Danny) did an awful job. I truly feel he was not equipped to do a french gel manicure. I am not a confrontational person I showed both the front desk and pedicure girls and they also said it didn't look good. I gave him a second chance this time he filed my natural nails into a wavy/lumpy shape so much so that it burned every time he ran his file over my nails. The second time he "re did" my nails they also looked awful. The front desk and pedicure girls also agreed the second time. They offered to have someone else do it again but I already spent 3.5 hours there and my babysitter was at home waiting with my kiddos. I gladly offered to pay my pedicure and when the front desk girl called the owner she asked that "I at least the manicure and pedicure." $50 later I'm headed to Walmart to purchase acetone to soak this mess off once my children are sleeping. The staff did a great job with my mother's and my nails and the place has a great atmosphere.

I scheduled an appt three weeks prior to the date and time. It was for two people (one of those my step daughter who is coming to visit for Christmas) so I scheduled for 12/23 at 11:30am. The services I originally scheduled was for a fill/gel polish and pedicure. The other a dip and pedicure. So great appt scheduled. I called a week to the appointment to do a full set instead of the fill and they could not find me on their appt book. So the original person I talked to never put us on their schedule. So they were going to let me know if they can make some changes and let me know. I got a text the day after to let me know they booked the appointment for tomorrow 12/21. I told them like I told the person on the phone that I can't do that. I work plus my stepdaughter doesn't arrive until 12/22 late night. So they text me that they are booked on 12/23 so they can probably do in the evening (no can't do) or Saturday morning (no can't do) or do the nails and one pedicure and then come back later in the day for the other pedicure. that is nonsense. It's the holidays everyone now is booked. I'm very upset at this place. If you schedule an appt please call ahead to make sure u are on their books. read more

For a first timer it was different. I was having problems with the heels on my feet and one of my nails. My wife took me to Bahama to get a pedicure which actually made my feet feel better. If you are worried about that nasty auto body smell this store has very little smell. The staff was friendly and asked if I needed anything. They were quick to get to work. The young lady worked on my nails first and while my last three digits on both feet are very sensitive I didn't have any issues with them digging around with tools. My feet were a little sore a couple of days after because I didn't know that the young Asian lady could have such strong hands. She massaged my feet for a good five minutes each and really did a number on me. I thought she did a fantastic job. The entire process took about 35-40 minutes, not including the soaking of my feet. The cost was reasonable considering the task at hand. I would go back again considering how much better my feet are now. read more

I haven't been here for a while but a good friend gets her nails done here all the time. Unfortunately the woman who does her nails was unavailable so I tried someone else. She had a great personality. she started filing off my last gel manicure and got my finger so badly it's still red and open. She started cutting my cuticles even though I told her to just push them back. She said she was cutting off some hangnails but some of the skin around my nails is red. I will not be back. read more

I went again recently and the gel manicure was decent. However the reason for the 2* is the way he takes off the existing gel. He barely lets it soak 2 minutes and then proceeds to rip off the gel... This review has been a long time coming. I've been a client at Bahama Nails for 5+ years. It's just all I've known since moving here so I kept giving them many chances. In those 5 years the service has just gotten worse and worse. My last experience was the final one that I decided to stop going. Long story short, I told the technician I wanted a gel color to match my toes... It consisted of combining two colors, one bass and one shimmer on top. When we were finished I was completely mortified at the color combo she selected. It looked nothing like she said it would and it was one of the ugliest colors I had ever seen. She said it would look much better outside in the sun, and I like to take the professionals word. I am not good with confrontation so I said I will just give it a chance. Once I got into my car it look even worse and so I called. I asked to speak to the owner, Trish, she did not want to get on the phone but she sent a message with the girl on the phone and said I would need to pay a fee to change the color. In my opinion that is not how you handle a situation so I posted on Facebook to my mom group asking if I should pay the fee or if I should ask for a free redo. Someone commented on my post saying that they happened to be in the salon at the same exact time and said that I got the story wrong and that the salon was in the right and that I was in the wrong. After looking into all this it turns out that girl who commented on my post is the owners daughter and she wasn't even there, she literally lied, defending her mom, mocking me, the customer. After all of that yes they did the redo for free, but it just shows me the true heart of the owners of this place and there's just no appreciation for their clients. read more

I went to this nail salon after mixed reviews from my two daughters. I was impressed by the welcoming receptionist and the quiet, relaxing atmosphere. I thought I had a new nail salon close to home since moving from Orlando to Altamonte Springs but after leaving I noticed many mistakes with my nails. I had a male tech and he was seemingly pretty good but after arriving home I could see where my nails were not polished very neatly and the gel coating looked horrible. I was unable to return that day once I noticed it was too close to closing time. After deciding to go back the next day I realized they are closed on Mondays. I decided not to return and will let another salon do my nails but I am ticked off everytime I look at my nails which have even more cracks after only one week of service. I think the products used are very cheap. I would never recommend this nail salon. read more

Terrible experience here.... After getting a full set of acrylics that were rushed, I wanted a matte top coat and she did a terrible job. My nails are unevenly painted and messy.
