There is so much to admire, from the beautiful gardens and unique architecture to the bird enclosures scattered throughout the grounds. My favorite spot was what felt like a greenhouse--a beautiful white building tucked within the park, complete with a gorgeous fountain inside. It felt full of life and had such an ethereal atmosphere. Even the squirrels were curious and interactive, making the experience feel even more alive. There are also several beautiful statues placed throughout the property, giving you something new to discover around every corner. It is also the place I took my senior dog Max on walks when his health declined and no longer was able to join me on our hikes. It is also the place my son thought for a quick photoshoot when we picked up his high school letterman jacket. The sign stopped me. Dry leaves. Rotting fruits. Decaying garden shed. Tombstone. Sitting space for burnouts. Vintage gas pumps. Abandoned orange-yellow school buses. I walked around the happy yellow mansion. This place was weird. I didn't even go inside. Some Chinese men walked in circles in the parking lot. Maddening moments from gates and locks. The ambiance alone was eeriness too the max. The John A Rowland House was something for me to do... Since, I was in the area and all. I don't recommend anybody loitering, but I did it.

Being a resident of La Mirada for the past 21 years, Neff Park has been one of my favorite local…read moreplaces to visit when I'm looking to get out of the house for a bit and decompress. It's a great place to bring your lunch or sit on the grass and enjoy a good book. The play area was remodeled not long ago and is a great place for kids to play and run around. If you're into visiting historic homes like I am, the Neff Estate is a must visit. Tours are given every third Saturday of the month from 2-4 pm. Tours are free, donations accepted. The George House and Neff Barn are also on site, however they are not part of the tour. During La Mirada's Halloweenfest, the George House is open for viewing and the Neff Barn is turned into a haunted maze. There is a beautiful gazebo on site as well, perfect for special occasion photos.

I personally haven't parked at the lot in order to get to this structure as it's part of the Panda Express HQ's area so they may get the tendency of shooing those away not there for business. However if you just park nearby and walk to this place, I don't believe they'll mind anyone who's looking to grab a few snaps of this fun piece.

The hike is has limited shade and it's challenging and strenuous, still people of all ages come to the trails. It's also dog friendly. The negative- parking , you have to beware of the signs on the street, the parking on premises is very limited and sometimes closed. Trail open at 9 am - 5 pm daily, for some, not possible to come after work. :( Other than that it's amazing and satisfying.

Of course, the place is already quite dirty as it is, especially since it's closing soon. Some of the rooms were cool. I like the balloon room and the lights, but some people should really read the rules. First off, this family blocked the stairway to get in. And one of the family members was this short, big guy who was just running in the balloon room in circles and popping all the balloons and kicking them around up over the walls. Now that's fine, but then me and boyfriend tried to make our way in and another couple too, were there. He continued to kick up a bunch of balloons, while me and another person was trying to take pictures. He even accidentally knocked down his daughter in the process. He was extremely obnoxious and even joked about it with his family members, who just laughed and took videos. Now most of the interactive stuff was bad. It was gross for the most part due to all the germs, dirt, and hair. The balls and balloons all have random dirty smears of brown and orange on them. The ball pit was very dirty. I assume they're not planning on sanitizing any time soon due to the exhibit closing down. Anyways, we go into the light room and the worker says stay in the path and don't the lights. After two minutes, all of a sudden these three kids run in and start going into the lights and grabbing them, she stares and doesn't say a thing to them. These kids are super rowdy so I say something, and then she says oh, yeah don't do that. Pretty useless in my opinion. Most of this stuff is geared towards kids, but my bar was already super low. Do not spend your money here. Go somewhere else.

The documentary film by William Ohanesian was shown at the second floor of the museum. The event was interesting and the museum to my surprise was very spacious and has free parking available in back.
