I absolutely LOVE it here and so do my kids. We came in April for the Oranges and then in October for the Pumpkin patch! Thank you to Kay and all the wonderful volunteers that help make this place so special.

    Cute farm sign on barn.

We went on a tractor ride through orange orchard, and seats that were not bales of hay was a great perk.

The bricks that are on the house today are the original bricks hand made by the masons with red clay found on the property. The home's flat roof was waterproofed with tar that was brought from the brea pits in Orange County. This is considered to be the first house built in Rancho Cucamonga. I've lived in Rancho Cucamonga on and off for the last 10 years and had no idea about the history of this beautiful place. Over the years the Rains House passes through several hands and was vacant for a while. The County of San Bernardino purchased the property in 1971. This house is considered a branch off the County of San Bernardino Museum. The house had been vandalized and needed restoring and furnishings . The women of Casa de Rancho Cucamonga Historical Society raised money through fundraisers and making crafts to sell, to assist in restoring the John Rains Home. They were able to furnish the home with authentic furniture and decoration from the time period. I posted pictures of some of the rooms and furnishings. The Docent Judy gave me a really nice tour. There are restrooms outside and a picnic area if you want to enjoy a nice sack lunch. The property is very pretty with the scenic mountains in the background. There is plenty of free parking and not many visitors. Please support the county and visit. I will definitely be coming back. They also rent out space for gatherings. Someone could plan a nice picturesque wedding here for sure. Hours : 10:00am - 3:00pm Open : Tuesday - Saturday. Closed major holidays Contact # (909) 989-4070

Traffic management has been extremely poor, and the road conditions have made driving through the area unnecessarily difficult and frustrating. There isn't even a proper lane open on each side of the street. Instead, part of the bike lane has been opened up as a temporary driving lane, which creates a very narrow and confusing roadway. The way traffic is being managed is also horrible. Today, I was stuck at a traffic light for 20 minutes because traffic was being held up to allow construction trucks to enter and exit the site. On top of that, there is construction debris scattered along the main roadway, and the pavement is uneven and not fully leveled due to all the ongoing work. The traffic light being out in the area only makes an already terrible traffic situation even worse. I understand that construction is necessary, but the way this project is currently being managed is creating a major inconvenience and a potentially dangerous situation for drivers. Whoever is managing this project is not doing a good job of ensuring that the construction has as little impact as possible on the civilians, residents, and people who have to travel through the area every day. especially with multiple businesses being on this Main street. This needs to be taken seriously and brought under control. I sincerely hope that once the Coca-Cola factory opens, whoever is responsible for managing the facility and surrounding traffic makes sure that the issues created by this project do not continue to negatively affect the people living and traveling in the area. Right now, this is honestly one of the worst streets to drive on.
