This was my second visit at Bailey's veterinary clinic. I love the vet the first time when we were getting vaccinations for our cat. This visit was a little tougher. I called them that morning and let them know my cat needed to be seen by a vet and was in distress. They had me come right in on a standby appointment. I got there checked in and they took Bella back to be checked. They called me back to the room and agreed it was time to put her out of her pain. They brought the check out paperwork back to me to be handled so I didn't have to go back out after the procedure. I really appreciated that. The vet was the same one I saw before and was wonderful again. She handled it with gentle care. I definitely recommend Bailey's. I know people aren't fond of it being not locally owned, but I have to say the vets are top notch and very good people. They can handle whatever you need done. They are there for you and your fur babies. read more

My dog got attacked by three pit bulls. I called Bailey's vet. The people paid it. They said it was gonna be $200 and that they could fix my dog. It'd be more after that of course well as soon as they seen I only had the $200 they kicked my dog out. Send him home Dave pain medicine I never authorized and then after the court date months later sent me another bill for $250. I don't even know what it's for cause it's so misprinted you can't read it the lady it was very rude to me both times they sent my dog home and he suffered for four hours. Why me and my kids watched him die They were very very heartless and we had no problem paying the first $200 that they mentioned at the beginning for the exam for everything and then all of a sudden there's another $250 we owe months later Bailey's is the worst vet in Roseburg? They advertised her stuff they don't even do they lie and they overcharge you and they sneak charges in and they do stuff to animals that you never even asked for and they try to make you pay for it. It's not OK for them to take advantage of people. It's a terrible place. I would never take any of my animals that ever again. read more

i brought my dog in today. She had ingested rat poison and I told them before multiple times before I got there that she is a very scared dog. She's never bit anyone bit I was letting them know multiple times that she is so scared and could bite well when the vet came in and saw her he was very fast and I understand that there's a lot of emergencies, but he didn't care to really listen and then he went to go help her with medication they took her from me and put her into a back room and he came in the door open and said you need to come get your dog right now she bit me and I said omg and so I ran out of the room to go help and then I got over to her and she was just very very scared and he said you are so lucky that it didn't draw blood and I said well I told your staff multiple times that this could happen because she's a very skittish dog and she doesn't like people and she doesn't trust people and he said well. No one told me that and he was so incredibly rude the whole time. as I was so scared that my dog was going to die and he decided was OK even though I told every single nurse I told the front staff I told anyone that would listen to me that I was nervous about her and that we would need to be careful and then afterwards the nurse comes in and she goes. Oh I am so sorry he's not mad and I said well he just told me that I'm lucky that she didn't draw blood but it hurt like hell and I told him well. I told your entire staff about 5times and then she says well she's never been aggressive with me so I'm guessing he just moved too fast it was horrible in a moment where I thought my dog was going to die. He was the most disrespectful person and then every single time he came in the room he was rushed and saying well I need to hurry up and get to another room and that he just needed me to make quick decisions . The front staff was amazing and they did the best customer service ever but that vet was a despicable human being. read more

In the past we've had good service but not this time. Not only did we wait about 4 hours and it wasn't busy but our little Heeler was really dehydrated and they had nothing to help till we went to the exam room and we used the sink to give her water. After all that time they took a total of 5 minutes with her and then charged more than we were quoted. Our love for our pets doesn't give vets the right to take advantage of us. read more

I brought my service animal in due to them being lethargic, not drinking water and I suspected they had a fever. Having worked as a vet tech in the past I had reasonable knowledge something was wrong. This was a walk in appointment. I expected a wait. While checking I was meet by a very rude front office person. I asked not to be separated from my animal due to the job they to do for my disability. That request was denied. I had no choice but to let them take my animal back and check them risking my health. My animal was brought back to me and I was told they did not meet the criteria for immediate service and it would be a 5 hour wait. As this was the only clinic open on that day I had no other choice but to wait. I was told I could go home and they would call me when they could see us. I let them know that due to my disability it was extremely difficult to just get out to bring them in that day so another trip back and forth would be so taxing on my body it would make that impossible as I did not have help that day so I stayed. I had no choice for the health of my animal. Their office is NOT Americans with Disabilities friendly. Limited seating and hard benches. Their staff behind the counter was more concerned with gossip and laughing at people that raised concerns than helping to alleviate the stress that comes when people come in while in distress about their pets. My dog is extremely well trained. She did not act out, bark or otherwise try to leave my side while we waited in room. I waited the 5 hours and then was called back to the room. I was told by the veterinarian that my animal was in distress when they came in and should have been fast tracked. I asked why I was told the contrary? She said sometimes things slip through the cracks as they deam animals that have been hit by cars or are bleeding take president. So my take away is visual is more important than an animal that may be slowly dying in their waiting room. I raised concerns I had about the treatment and humiliation I received by the particular staff at the front desk and was told well they are under stress also. Unacceptable! That particular staff needed to walk away and take a moment if they were not able to answer simple questions without belittling me a paying customer with a sick animal. I paid a lot of money for my service animal to be seen that day. This office will never get another dime of my money. I received no apology for the rude treatment or the dismissive treatment of my animal when they were first brought in. This office is about getting your money not about compassion for your pet or you. Having working in the actual medical field for 20 years in a much larger municipal area I know a bit about medication. This office pushes giving animals Gabapentin as pain relief. Gabapentin is not a pain medication for humans or animals this has been proven in many medical studies. Conventional opioids are proven to be the be the best pain relief for pets and humans it also cause less side effects overall short term. While Gabapentin takes up to 12-24 hours to do anything if anything at all. It is for nerve pain. It does nothing for immediate pain relief for your pet so while you are being told this will help your pet is still in distress when being used for immediate pain relief issues. Please advocate for your pet and for yourself. Edit: When the veterinarian came into the room my dog began to growl and bark which I found to be very strange and out of character for them given their training. I had to ask for a mussle. I have never had to mussle my dog before. Since our visit they have been very face shy and will not let us pet their head. I am wondering how they were treated when out of my sight. I feel terribly guilty for taking them to this clinic. Edit #2: The nasty letter was great. THEY DO NOT WANT TO DO BETTER! THEY DO NOT CARE! NOT BBB RATED. I don't understand why people are giving this business a one-star rating. Yes, they are busy. Yes, it can take a long time to check in. Yes, it can be difficult to get a phone call through. But that's because there are SO many who trust them with their animals. We first brought our cat to Dr. Paul a few months ago. She was almost 20 years old, and in failing health. Dr. Paul was friendly and compassionate and seemed to genuinely like our cat. He did everything he could to extend her days and improve her quality of life. When we had to make the very sad decision to euthanize her, we were treated with the utmost respect and compassion by everyone on the staff. I used to take my dog here. I recently just switched to a better option in Myrtle creek. Number one biggest issue with this place is it is so hard to contact them via phone. I've been on hold many times for 30-45 minutes, & I'm sure it would've been longer if I didn't just get tired of it & hang up everytime. There's literally been one time I was able to call & only be on hold for 5-10 minutes. Another red flag for me is they cannot keep employees very long. Scheduled a tooth cleaning for our elderly dog weeks in advance and paid the "required" $100 deposit. Day of tooth cleaning took our girl in and filled out a form concerning extra treatments, like nail clipping, flea treatment, etc. Tech came in to check her temp, heart rate etc. and they took her back. I had my phone by me, turned on and ringer level high, all day waiting for the okay to pick her up. Seven hours later I get the call to pick her up, oh, and by the way... we removed NINE teeth. What??? I never received a consultation call, never was advised of potential costs, NEVER gave my consent, NEVER talked to the vet, until he called me to say her pickup was delayed due to slow recovery from anesthesia. Arrived to pick her up and was told I owed $1,200... due NOW. I don't have that kind of money laying around, wasn't advised it could be that much, didn't consent to the care resulting in that charge. Staff proceeded to tell me I did consent, that the vet said I verbally indicated TO HIM I was willing to have "whatever it takes" done, and should be aware that their services are Cash On Delivery. I was told that I could use as many credit cards as I needed to, could get cash out of the bank... whatever I needed to do to pay the bill. VERY SHADY, unethical business practices. I have never in my life experienced this kind of behavior from a veterinary office. Disgusting. To top it off, they constantly apply pressure to "upsell" additional treatments and services. I would not recommend ever taking an animal to this Groomer! My mother just moved to Winston in September and needed to find a new groomer for her 6 year old Austrian Shepherd. I asked to have her washed and trimmed. We picked her up and found my dog trimmed so short!! She no longer has her undercoat! Never take your animal here to be groomed. read more

Of course there are other vet clinics closer to home....but there is nothing like the peace of mind knowing that my boy will be well taken care of at Baileys. He recently got into something on our farm, and when he started breathing heavy and acting lethargic I started to worry. A kind staff member at Bailey's walked me through everything over the phone to first be sure it was necessary to bring him in. We followed up right away with an appointment and the staff went above and beyond to help my boy feel at home despite the circumstances! Our dog is sick. We were instructed to come in early this morning, and how to check in for a walk-in appointment. We were second in line before opening, and checked in; we noticed 6 or so people called ahead of us, and waited for several hours. We checked and let the receptionist know we there, when we finally asked what was going on, we were told we had been removed from the queue because they were "researching other vet's records," but we have never had our dog to a vet. We drove over an hour, to get him in first thing. It's an emergency. No one is open on Sundays, and now we can't get him to a competent vet until Monday; we followed all checkin procedures, gave all information, and waited patiently literally in front of the window. We love our dog, and are very worried. This delayed his care by at least 2 days, and cost us a day of our lives and significant expense just to get there with gas prices so high; I don't know why you've done this. This is NOT a responsible clinic, frankly I wouldn't trust critical care to these people AT ALL. read more

We were traveling on vacation when our little 7lb dog Josie got stung by a bee. We didn't know it at the time what had happened but she was hysterical and would not put weight on her foot. We immediately started looking around for emergency clinic. Called Bailey's and they set us up to Come in asap. We were 30 mins away. Fantastic vet, great support staff, vet techs were very sweet to our little girl. Clean place. Excellent front desk service too. Super happy. They did not offer things that were not needed and didn't mind when I asked for a little more too since we would still be traveling for a bit after. We couldn't have been happier with the service there. We felt very fortunate we found them and will remember them incase of any issues in future in that area. read more

Do not take your animal to Bailey's. They are only after money and don't care about your animal. My 5 year old cat started having blood in his feces and not drinking water. We took him to Bailey's. They checked him out and sent him home with antibiotics and $100 bag of food. He didn't improve. 13 days later, (one day before his follow-up) we did an Emergency visit. They did ANOTHER initial exam and did the same dang blood test, prescribed the same antibiotics. NO IV. No suggestion of dehydration! Sent him home. 2 days later, my Taz was dead. They tell you that they can operate on an animal that the kabs show full kidney shut down. Received poor response to canine illness from this clinic . The corporation is more concerned with their insurance/risk, then the actual care of aminals. Past experiences has been luke warm at best. Had to put down a pet, primarily due to poor/lack of care by the clinic ( failed to provide antibiotics ). Terrible place!! My daughter brought in her four month old puppy that was a victim of a hit and run. On the way into Bailey's the puppy vomited from car sickness. She was told she had to be screened and vaccinated for parvovirus before being seen $77. The puppy had already been vaccinated twice and was up to date on shots, but refused to treat her without the screening, so reluctantly she agreed to the screening and payment. We were told the cost to treat the puppy would be approximately $280. The puppy was taken for an x-ray AND NEVER BROUGHT BACK! It was determined she had a broken rear right leg. We were given an option of surgery at a cost of $5500-$7500 and referred to another veterinarian. She said we would like to leave and take the dog to a different veterinarian, and told Bailey's that she wasn't able to afford that much, the physician said there might be another clinic for less, left the room to make another phone call. The physician came back and said there was another veterinarian less expensive at $3500. My daughter said that was also too much and would like to leave and go to a different veterinarian, the physician left again. When the physician came back she was told they could amputate the leg at a cost of $1500, or euthanasia. My daughter said that was still too much and would be open to surrendering the puppy, the physician left again. After 3 hours of back and forth what could only be compared to the worst used car purchasing experience imaginable. She had to leave for work and walked out leaving her dog, upset and emotional she didn't say anything to the front desk. Only a few minutes after we left we got a phone call informing us we had to come back to sign the paper for surrender and she owed another $444. Paying a total of $521 and having to give away her dog! Evil, terrible, place!! Avoid Bailey's COMPLETELY! Make the drive to Medford or Eugene, I will never forgive them for the emotional damage they put my kid through. I will tell everyone what a nasty place Bailey's is! read more

I started going to bailys when we moved up here it was a recomended to us, and since we didn't know if any other place, they were nice but too expensive but I took my dog again and again, then I found out that they charge a fee for walking in with no appointment, that's ridiculous never have heard that being done. I just had to come to a decision to keep going or not. and that decision was not to go back, one reason is there way too expensive and too busy and if your a walk in they charge for that then you have to wait way toooo long, it could be 2- 5 hrs. We have a very elderly dog. He's not in the best of health, but he's making it. We have taken him to Bailey's a few times for treatment and our dog has seemed to be very well taken care of. The office and medical personnel are very friendly and caring. I'm very satisfied with their service. The drawbacks are the parking sucks and the prices of their dog food, our dog can only eat the Science Diet food they sell by prescription. my dog (service animal since i am a 100% PTSD disabled vet) was with me at Stewart park when he became lethargic and collapsed, with the help of other park visitors they helped carry my dog to my truck and i drove to our vet, upon arrival they insisted it was his heart so they did a whole series of test such as chest xray, ultrasound, ekg/ecg, blood pressure, cbc/chem18 test, fluids and IV/catheter. then after 2 hours of waiting they came out to tell me nothing is wrong with your dog we went home and 2 days later he died, i kept asking the doctor what if it is not his heart and she said i am certain it his heart but after the test were done she said i can not find anything wrong with your dog. yet the very next day his breathing was extremely labored and he was extremely lethargic. just before they released us the doctor had to wait for the IV liquid to empty but she forced the liquid by squeezing hard on the IV bag then they removed the IV and released us, note they had prescribed the drug APOQUEL for dermatitis i believe the symptoms he suffered are from that drug which they prescribed and i even mentioned that i felt it had damaged his immune system they denied it and claimed my dog was just fine yet he was visibly ill but still insisted that they could not find anything wrong with him and sent us home insisting over and over they could not find anything wrong with him after charging me 1000$ for the tests they insisted he needed or he would die now they are refusing to release his medical records to me. i filed a complaint with the BBB, and have contacted attorneys read more

I have had a few issues with Bailey's vet recently but this situation was the cherry on top. My lovely parents just moved up here with their 14 year old dog. Thursday night he started showing the signs of impending death. My parents knew to keep him from suffering, they were going to have to put him down. After many phone calls to other vets who suggested Baileys, because they have emergency services, they called them to ask for help. At this point the dog was suffering by convulsing and seizing in my mothers arms. They begged Bailey's to help them and put this dog out of his misery and give him a peaceful end. Baileys said no because they weren't an established client. Was it because of the money, they would of happily paid anything. But no, because Bailey's told them that and denied service, this dog seized to death in my mothers arms and had to sit in a box till the next day. That is very traumatic for people who loved their pet. What if they were traveling, it shouldn't matter. What they did was inhumane and the dog could of had a peaceful death. We waited six weeks to see Dr. Kyle then we get to the parking lot we wait 15 minutes on the phone and tell them I had another appointment at 12:30 and she said oh you'll be out of here by then. My family and I are from California and came up to visit a family friend. Our first night in Roseburg, my chihuahua ripped his duclaw darn near all the way off. This happened on a Friday night. I called Saturday morning after googling vets in the area, and Bailey's was open and had great reviews. I brought my dog in on a walk in basis and they accepted him with open arms. They were so transparent with their communications - what to expect with the wound my dog had, how they were going to treat the wound, and what to expect. For a recent follow up to my dog's appointment I was told call the Dr back after waiting a long time on the phone and was eventually disconnected. The dr never did return my call although I felt sure they would. Still no contact weeks later. Now I am waiting in the car with my other dog and hid appointment is at 3. I was asked to be here at 2:45. I was here promptly, waited on hold to tell them I was here and it is now 3:20 and still none had come out to get my dog fir his scheduled appointment. We have things to do and out time is valuable too. This isn't working well for me....my experience with these bets had been fine but they are very expensive compared to my prior vet and wait times are way longer. read more

Baileys has turned into a money thriving clinic. Since Don, Bob, and now Blair have all left, service is horrible and do not care about our pets/ family members. They only care about the money. Our family has been with Baileys since the 60s, and since my folks experience yesterday, none of us go there any more. We were traveling through the area far from home and late in the day to find our 5 mo old pup with an inflamed eye. We arrived at the clinic 3 minutes before they closed on a Saturday. The intake staff was welcoming and collected all our info and got us in to see the doctor. Happily it seems it was a minor bacterial infection and easy to treat. If we had not been able to get in, we would have had to wait until Monday or find an emergency vet. The doctor, assistants, and front desk staff received and treated us with smiles and pleasantness even though I was "that guy" that showed up at closing after a long day with her pup. My dog was misdiagnosed with a cut in his paw which just got worse by the day. The bill was over $200. When I took him back they found a "mass" instead. Again the bill was over $200, even though they couldn't figure out what was going on. To get a second opinion from an Oncologist in Medford I asked that my dogs records were sent to Medford, which they weren't. Don't take your pet to them! Find another vet! Birgit J. read more
