The Bainbridge Brewing facility at Coppertop (not the alehouse downtown), which is the facility where the beer is brewed, is a nice place to hang for a beer or two, although it can get busy on weekend afternoons. It seems to be a favorite place for families to gather during those times, which can make finding a seat difficult. By early evening, most folks have cleared out, and it's pretty empty as the 9:00 hour approaches. We particularly like sitting upstairs since there's pinball close by (four machines), which we used quite a bit on our last visit. And, of course, there's their beer, which I love. My favorite is the Eagle Harbor IPA, their signature West Coast IPA. Their Kömmuter Kölsch is also one of my favorites (and likewise my girlfriend's favorite). I frequently buy cans of both to take home (which you can also buy at the Safeway on High School Road, and at the alehouse on Winslow near the ferry terminal). read more

This is an excellent, quiet brewery on sleepy Bainbridge Island. We stopped in to get a drink. There is a wine bar next door! Our bar host was knowledgeable, chill, and poured our flight for us. We were able to look out their big windows to a sunny afternoon. They also had TVs running different sports. They have a great variety of beers and surprisingly I liked all 4 in our beer flight (a rare occasion!) We skipped getting bites since we had a meal coming up. We've dropped by this place a few times while waiting for the ferry - it's a comfortable, modern place to have a drink and relax after a day of fun on Bainbridge. Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable and there's a great selection of beer and cider and NA beverages and a far larger selection than breweries usually have of wine. This visit I had their stout and my spouse had a hot honey cider - both were excellent. I haven't personally eaten here but they have a nice selection of locally sourced snacky type food. I just went to Bainbridge brewing with my wife after climbing at Insight. We stopped at the establishment to get a growler of their wonderful imperial Stout to go - the time was 8:57pm. The employees - or what appeared to be employees - were all chatting outside the bar. They informed us that the bar was closed and had been for sometime. I motioned to the sign near the door with the hours of the bar. One of them, a new bartender I recognized, hollered out, "lo siento" and that we could go to Isla Bonita or the islander and I told the group that i wasn't interested and we walked back to the car. I suppose that the "dragon's milk" stout from Safeway will suffice. We were not left with a very good feeling from the staff and will not be returning. I was expecting to be profiled for being of Mexican descent during these troubling times. But not from a local business where my family has called home for three generations. Wife and I went on a Thursday night amidst locals playing trivia, were asked to leave when our beautiful 2 yr old screamed in excitement at the Pac-Man game upstairs. Woman playing trivia complained to bartender Andrew, who then stated to my wife that he could get our 2 yr old to quiet down. Ok. Bartender then proceeded to go downstairs, share with his regulars at the bar what had transpired. As we walked downstairs to leave, bartender pointed to the door saying "bye," while a guy seated at the bar yelled "get your kids out of here!" Collectively, they all clapped as we walked out the door. Never in my life have I experienced such vitriol from a public establishment, its employees, and fellow patrons. Owner called my wife and I the next day, stated "bartender has 20 yrs experience ..." Guess that's their idea of an apology. Your kids are not welcome at Bainbridge Brewing. My partner and I have been mug club members (so repeat customers) for years. We enjoy the range of brews, including ongoing new trials, and chatting with friendly barkeeps. I see the low reviews, mostly from people with young children about noise, and not about the beer. I've been at BB when the decibel level of children upstairs is quite loud. Parents have been asked by barkeeps to tone it down. Most comply, but some treat the place like it is a MacDonalds play space and take affront. Please consider that the primary business at BB is adult oriented, and bar flies, we can think back to when joy was freely (and loudly) expressed. A local craft brewery, Bainbridge Brewing is a nice place with nice people, serving a great selection of beers, along with a few wines, ciders and more to satisfy non-beer drinkers. We had the chance to check this place out after an awesome and fun Mochi Festival at the school across the street. It was a dreary rainy day but a welcoming locals brewery makes it all the better! The space is a moderate in size, with a few tables tightly situated around the counter. It was a bit cramped, even for a tiny person like me. They have TVs downstairs playing the football games, a front patio, free wifi, and a small upstairs with pinball. They also sell some quality merch like hatsz beanies and more. The people working are super chill. Place is kid and dog friendly. It was average to kind of loud, especially with the kids. As you go upstairs, there are some old black and white photos highlighting notable history of Bainbridge. We got a beer flight, which was I think $18 or so for 4 4 oz pours. I forget exactly but together we tried kölsch, lager, amber ale, sour, and barley wine. I very much enjoyed the beer, except the barley which was too dark and strong for my tastes (too much going on). The food truck outside the day we visited was great (Filipino American food). But they also have a pizza and sandwich place in the same plaza so you have options. I think the brewery also had some bar snacks too. I would not hesitate to go back! read more

My friends and I visited Bainbridge Brewing while exploring the island. While the staff wasn't overly friendly, they were thoughtful, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. The brewery boasts a really nice space, with options like shuffleboard and pinball available on the second floor. The highlight for us was tasting the different beers on offer. The boys particularly enjoyed the variety, and I must say, the cider they had on tap was delightful. It had a very crisp taste with strong pear notes, making it a refreshing choice. My husband had been meaning to check this place out for a long time. Beer was good--he had the Irish stout.

We will never return here. We are new to the island and are looking for family-friendly locales, as we have young kids. There are not many options on the island but we had a friend recommend this place as "kid-friendly." Within 20 minutes of being there, we were asked to leave by the bartender, Andrew. Another patron had complained that our children were too loud. We had them playing pinball... upstairs... on trivia night ... in a loud taproom... unfortunately, this is all completely true. As we were leaving, Andrew publicly shamed us and got his friends at the bar to join in. All clapping as we left. We felt ostracized. What a welcome to the island. read more

I wanted to get my money's worth from our ferry ride over to the island, so I was pretty determined to stop at a brewery. Bainbridge Brewing did not disappoint in any department whatsoever. It's in a pretty-looking business complex and has a massive, lovely patio with well-spaced out tables (appropriate social distancing). The barkeep was masked and one of the friendliest I've ever meet. I wanted to try two of their IPAs and he was kind enough to let me know which to drink first so I didn't wreck my palate. They also had a nice selection of sodas for NA drinking as well. Since they allow you to bring in your own food, we ordered pizza and salad from a nearby pizza place inside the business center. It was a great compliment to our beers. The IPAs I had--both noted in the photos--were both phenomenal! I'm really hoping that I get to have them on draft again one day. Went there for a beer, ended up getting food from The Smoked Asian food truck, yum. The servers are always great(and clearly knew my husband's face) I loved watching people come and go - some sitting at the bar chatting with the servers, some playing cards, some sitting outside (it was wet) Finally, we chatted with a local we never met, connection made, a new friend to look for at the brewery. Great place. Lots of great beer choices/styles brewed on site. Staff is friendly and happy to help you make choices. It is a working brewery without a kitchen. As a result, it welcomes well-behaved dogs and kids. (The review from Cassidy F. below is plain wrong -- must have it confused with either the Alehouse or some unrelated place.) They do have snacks, but you can also bring food in from anywhere (and there are frequently food trucks outside). As to dogs and kids -- dogs are seldom a problem. They must be on a leash and well-behaved. The Brewery is my very friendly dog's favorite place to go on the weekend. He loves the other dogs and lots of people attention. But, if your dog doesn't like other dogs or people, then please don't bring them in. It's a drag. Well-behaved children of all ages are welcome (and typically really like the dogs). However, due to Washington's restrictive laws that prohibit kids in "bars," some people try to bring in young children who are easily bored and want to treat it like a McDonald's Play Place. It is not that. It is an adult place where adults come to drink beer and have adult conversation. So, if your kids run around and scream, you will get lots of annoyed looks from regular patrons who unsurprisingly don't want screaming children running around. Don't hold that against the patrons -- you chose to bring your kid to a brewery. read more

It's brand-spanking new and it looks like it walked out of a would-be brewer's dream. Everything's custom, everything's shiny and clean and fresh off the truck, and everything's nice and welcoming. It's as close to perfect as an ambitious little brewery can be. The beers are tasty and the people are super nice. Whether it stays a neighborhood brewery or makes a bigger regional splash, the next few years will tell. But either way it's a great place to stop for a pint when you're on the island. And who isn't on the island from time to time? You head down Sportsman's Club Road, and you're already having fun--so far you're only reading the street signs. It's past the church and in the new little retail park on the hill. Virtually every space here is leased, so I imagine there's a nice hustle and bustle during the week. You walk in to a clean, bright, high-ceilinged place with a shiny (literally, shiny) bar back and a few highboys scattered around. The brewroom is functionally a part of the taproom area--you can see brite tanks and conical fermenters a few feet past the bar. There's a staircase to a loft upstairs. The loft is like a living room--tables and chairs, overstuffed reading chairs with side tables, flat screen, board games. It's a great place to relax and hang out with either friends, a book, backgammon, Risk, sports on TV, or all of the above. Just one bathroom downstairs and another up. The beers rotate fairly regularly, and range from american ales (IPAs, stouts, porters, ambers, pales, etc.) to belgian abbey and farmhouse styles, to a variety of lagers. They tend toward a balanced approach in their recipes, with a few big beasts lurking here and there. They grow some of their own hops, and will start experimenting with special ingredients before long. First off, the beer here is very good. I enjoyed everything I had: the lager, a citrus IPA, and a taste of the raspberry wheat and eagle bay IPA. All very delicious and expertly crafted. The outside seating was plentiful, even though there were several people out enjoying the excellent fares, there was plenty of comfortable seating. This would have easily been worthy of 5 stars, except the customer service was "meh". More specifically, the gentleman at the counter extended no greeting, offered zero suggestions, and was ultimately not very friendly as we stood there awkwardly trying to decide our order. I'm surprised I haven't written a review for Bainbridge Brewing already. I have been here twice now. The first time I think was way early on when I first moved here and I was doing a different approach with writing reviews which I found out later was not as all encompassing as I wanted it to be. It was about five years or so since I was first here and I do not recall what I got but I thought the beer here was just okay at the time. On my most recent trip here either they have improved or I picked a beer that was really on the mark! I got their Windfall Grapefruit IPA which was excellent! Steve got a kolsch which was very good as well but I preferred my IPA more. lol I do not remember how the layout of the taproom was when I was here the first time but the most recent time around I enjoyed it. It is nice and spacious and a great place to relax. The service was very good. They were friendly and the customers got waited on in a quick and efficient manner. read more

Because it was a Saturday and the SUN was shining, the place was super busy. Luckily the second floor was open and we camped out there. The Groupon was a great deal and came with their artesian cheese (YUMMY). The beer was pretty decent too !! As an added bonus, there is a winery AND a distillery in the same office park !! Bitter forward with the malt calming things down nicely. I like the sourness of this drink. The sage also gives a fine rough earth flavor with a rosemary background. The shiitake mushrooms makes this a very earthy medium finish **** stars. Bainbridge Baltic Porter: 8.3% Style: Porter Belgian dark candi sugar for extra body and sweetness. They use hybrid Kolsch ale strain and ferment it cool to add a clean smoothness. Me and my boyfriend walked here from the ferry and it was a little creepy at some points. There were some areas on the walk where there was absolutely no one around, needless to say, we took an Uber back to the ferry. As for the beer, I wasn't impressed with their beer. Spent a day on Bainbridge Island and wanted to check out what they have to offer, so we walked from town (from the ferry, really) out to the brewery. It wasn't too bad of a walk - pretty easy to do on a nice day - and we were ready for some refreshing drinks once we arrived. They have outdoor tables and the inside space is actually open to air on nice days. They do allow you to sample some of their beers before ordering. They have a wide variety, which, as in common out here in PNW, heavily features IPAs, but also has some sour beers. My boyfriend, who does not like hoppy beers, settled on a beer that he described as "very unremarkable" and by the time I'm writing this review now, we have both completely forgotten its name. I ordered a ginger beer, which, though overpriced, was pleasant. The brewery has an airy atmosphere and the bathrooms are clean. read more
