Husband really enjoyed his experience here after riding for about 2 hours he had the sampler and I had the jolly rancher we absolutely enjoyed our drinks. We took home the mini 4 pack and I got a yeti mug. They had a lot of seating and was very peaceful located in an industrial area so not too busy. The organic vodka tastes like unfiltered Ozark Moonshine. Perhaps this is the natural taste of organic, but it is a totally unrelenting vodka taste that I will not soon forget. There is a reason why most vodkas are multiple times filtered and that is to get rid of this awful taste. They will not win any competitions with this approach. Tucked away in an industrial park, Bainbridge Organic Distillers is a lovely spot to try something new, or a flight of new somethings! My pal and I each had the $5 flight: 5 tastes of any of the spirits BOD produces. If you want to taste their highly acclaimed and award winning Yama Mizunara, that is an additional charge. It's an exclusive bottle and absolutely worth it if that's your jam. We both chose the Whiskey Forty Saloon Small Batch bourbon as our favorite of the flight, although the Oakes DOUGLas Fir gin was mighty tasty as well. No surprise to this sweet toothed gal, the shot of their signature maple syrup was my favorite part of the trip! Perfection! A few tables outside, a few inside. I prefer distilleries over wineries so when I visited Bainbridge Island I made it a point to stop by some for a tasting. This place is a little bit far from the main parts of Bainbridge Island and takes a bit to get here. When I ordered an Uber I got the only operating one on the island at that time (yes, you read that right). If you are unable to get one you can also take the bus although they may come infrequently. They offer a tasting of four spirits for $5 and they separately have a tasting of the yama whiskey which is $15 for half an ounce. My four spirits were the legacy vodka, the doug fir gin, the battle point whiskey, and the barbados cask whiskey. The battle point whiskey is barrel aged to become the barbados whiskey. The barbados cask whiskey had caramel notes, the gin was very juniper forward, and the vodka wasn't harsh and actually not completely neutral. My favorite was the barbados whiskey, then the battle point, then followed by the gin and the vodka. Connor was amazing and really took the time to walk me through the different spirits and made sure that I had a great experience. This is a smaller distillery so he told me they can get more creative with the ingredients and the flavor profiles that they want to produce. This was a fun tasting and even if it's out of the way it is definitely a spot worth visiting if you're visiting Bainbridge Island! read more

Bainbridge Organic Distillers is a small distillery in a small town that is perfecting BIG things! There's only 3 tables in their tasting room and a few outside in a covered area with some heaters but folks were coming and going the entire time we were there! We each started with a tasting flight to get the lay of the land and so glad we did! Each and every tasting was dramatically different with their own taste and texture. Yes, to me, whiskey has texture!! Of course we just had to try the Yama even at $15 a tasting!! We were hooked immediately and completely understood and supported the cost, a bottle is now in our collection! The Vanilla Vodka is also a must have, it's so smooth and rich it can be sipped or mixed with just about anything! Had some with a splash of orange juice and it's the perfect creamsicle! They also offer cocktails so make sure you try one of those, I had the Bee's Knees and it was delicious. read more

I never had a reason to visit Bainbridge Island until a friend told me about a special whiskey aged in Japanese oak barrels. I was intrigued by the $500 price tag for a bottle. The ferry from Seattle was about 30 minutes and the distillery was 3 miles from the terminal. By law, each person is limited to 2oz tastings per day per distillery. That seems like a small amount, but after you've sample a few different spirits it's probably a good thing. The tastings are complimentary! Unfortunately we were not able to sample the Bainbridge Yama whiskey, which is the reason why we visited the distillery in the first place. We did end up buying some whiskey and vodka bottles that we sampled. If you want to try the Bainbridge Yama some bars in Seattle offer it. A drink can cost you between $25-$90 and even as high as $130! If you do the math it's better to buy the bottle straight from the source, but without being able to try it first is a gamble. There's a short tour you can take where you will learn about the distilling process and can see the equipment used. I recommend stopping by for a tasting if you ever find yourself on Bainbridge Island. read more

We had 2 tastings at Bainbridge organic distillers on 09.25.2021. As a passionate gin drinker & a huge whiskey fan for a boyfriend we went because they had a good mix of both. Upon arrival we were slightly disappointed to see that they were only offering 5 out of the 10 spirits but we will be back to try the Islay cask whiskey when it's ready! The staff were friendly and very informative. We found the tastings very affordable at $5 a person. There is an option to add a tasting of their Yama Mizunara Japanese Oak Cask Whiskey for $15. While pricier, definitely worth it because it is the star of the show. We didn't enjoy the gin as much as we would've liked to but the whiskey was great! We loved the Yama so much so that we decided to purchase a bottle to add to our collection. This whiskey is the cherry on top reason why we're giving this distillery 5 stars! read more

A friend and I ended up here after a recommendation from a couple we encountered at the nearby Fletcher Bay Winery... and I'm so happy that we didn't miss out on this little gem of a distillery. We were greeted by a lovely server who also assisted us with a tasting of their various vodka, gin, and whiskey options. She answered our various questions with ease, and described each sample succinctly... really allowing us to then pick up on flavors and enjoy the nuances of each spirit. Oh, and did I mention the tasting is free? Because the tasting is free. Admittedly, I don't like to check luggage... but Bainbridge Organic Distillers doesn't ship to NY, and I couldn't pass up having a bottle of their Bainbridge Battle Point Organic Whiskey in my collection. I bought a bottle, secured it into my luggage (kept especially safe by being encased in a pair of ankle boots - then layers of clothes around it), and managed to get it home safely. Mmmm... deliciousness. I'll be savoring it, that's for sure. Overall? Incredibly welcoming place & very knowledgeable staff. Small distillery, but really wonderful spirits. Today I finally made it out to the distillery and Bainbridge, for the first time. We took the ferry from Seattle, and docked around 3:30. The distillery is about 9 min from the ferry landing. Tasting and tours are quite casual, with no appointment necessary. There is currently no fee for a tasting, and you can purchase their spirits in the shop. Aside from spirits, thy have maple syrup, chocolates, glasses and other accessories. When we arrived, Connor greeted and assisted with the tasting. The tasting today featured: Organic wheat vodka, gin, oaked gin and whiskey. To my disappointment the Yama was unavailable for tasting or purchase. Their first run of the Yama has sold out and the second run is barreled and aging right now. Of the 4 spirits, I bought a bottle of the oaked gin. The whiskey and vodka were very nice too, but you can generally find them in many local stores in WA. Then of both gins, the oaked one was very unique. It had a flavor with notes similar to whiskey. Connor was a wonderful host, who was informative, personable, and a delight to spend our afternoon with. I'd definitely recommend anyone to visit this place. read more

Everything was great, and my group ended up leaving with a couple of bottles. We heard about this distillery by word of mouth and were not disappointed. It's worth the ferry ride from Seattle! It's located towards the front of several business buildings and usually has the company truck in front. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Erin and a very clean shop. During the whisky gin and vodka tasting, the owner Keith came over and gave us a little history of his business. We were lucky enough to tour the distillery and storage area. Again the area was very clean and organized. We appreciated the education and bought several bottles. The jewels of the inventory are the whisky that were stored in rare wood from Japan! Our adventure continued to Seattle as we ate sushi served by Shiro Kashiba himself! We were then educated on sushi!! We appreciated Shiro so we shared the Bainbridge whisky with him. read more

Bainbridge Organic Distillers is located in the meca of great local Bainbridge beverage makers. They are neighbors with Storyville Coffee Company, Bainbridge Brewery, and Fletcher Winery. This is why, during our visit to the island we found ourselves returning to Coppertop Loop often. They are family owned and have been in business since 2009. They are a small batch distillery, and make everything from scratch onsite themselves. They were the first distillery in WA state to distill USDA certified organic spirits. Their grain is grown in WA state by several local farmers. They offer a vodka, Douglas Fir gin, whiskey, and vanilla vodka. The Douglas Fir gin is extremely unique and different. It is complex, spicy, yet smooth. They use 10 organic botanicals to create the gin. Bainbridge Organic Distillers offers a free tasting and tour. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. You can sample everything, except their whiskey during the tasting. That's because the whiskey is very popular, and sells out within two days of it being released. The day it becomes available, those on the mailing list line up out the door to purchase their one bottle allotment. Thankfully, we happened upon a bottle of this Whiskey at the Harbor House Inn restaurant. I would definitely ferry it over to the Island and wait in line to purchase some. It is one of the better whiskeys I have had. After tasting all their great products. If I had to choose a favorite, it would be the whiskey, followed by the Douglas Fir Gin. Do not miss the delicious Sherpa liquer filled chocolates that they have for purchase. They are DELICIOUS! read more

The quality remains unchanged, but a pricing change caught me by surprise. Previously, the price advertised at the distillery incorporated the onerous Washington liter and 20.5% sales taxes on spirits. That has changed - the displayed prices are unchanged, but now the liter tax and sales tax are added to that, resulting in a net 27% increase in the cost of a 750ml bottle of Heritage Gin. With the price increase, there are several other choices of gin of similar cost that will compete for my business. read more

Free tour and tasting - what's not to like?! There were only 2 people working when we were there, and they were giving tours and tastings, grinding stuff, and distilling all at once. You've got to admire that level of multitasking. I'd much rather get a tour from the people who do the actual distilling, as opposed to a professional tour guide. They were able to answer any question you could come up with about the process. And the product is phenomenal! I walked out with a bottle of their vodka, which is the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot of vodka). There is a brewery across the street, but we had more fun at the distillery. read more

My husband got the whiskey (so good, you can just drink it over the rocks!) and we bought the bourbon syrup, so delicious on pancakes and waffles. The customer service was unbelievable! If you just happen to be in the area, make sure you stop by this amazing organic distillery! They have something for everyone including a taste of non-alcoholic liquids, like maple syrup or a lemon spicy sauce. The bakery across the way uses some ingredients to make baked goods like cookies and they also sell that at their small location. In particular, I had a sugar cookie with a burbon infused icing, which was delightful. I cannot recommend this place enough if you have not been here. I could pick out different layers of flavor, and each option had unique characteristics I haven't found with other WA state distilleries. We came by when there was no one else in the tasting room, so we essentially had a private tasting led by the super nice server. She was informative, engaging and knowledgeable. My family was in town and we took the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge just to get out on the water. Once we were on the island, my brother, who is a connoisseur of wines and spirits, suggested we stop here. It was fun tasting their different offerings. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon so I'm not sure why we were the only ones in the place, but that made the visit relaxed and pleasant. The worker who provided the tasting seemed unnecessarily rushed; maybe she was just used to rushing. I enjoyed the gin and thought of buying it but it wasn't in my budget. We wished we'd gotten lunch before arriving because there was no place to get food in this little mall. We ended up buying overpriced pre-packaged cheese, salmon, and crackers from the nearby brewery. read more

So, Bainbridge Organic Distillers. I would never have known about this place if I hadn't seen something about them in a magazine I was reading while on my long weekend in Seattle. I knew I was going to take the ferry to Bainbridge Island, so why would I not visit a distillery while I was there? I have no idea why I wouldn't. First off, you can walk to this place. It will take you a good 30-45 minutes to walk there from the ferry or downtown, but you can walk. I guess you could take a cab or some sort of public transportation, but personally I like walking and that is exactly what I did. Just be careful. You will get to a point in your walk where there won't be any sidewalks and therefore you will be walking on the side of the road. Something to keep in mind if you decide to use your legs. Bainbridge Organic Distillers is located in an office park of some sort. Sure, in that office park you have a producer of coffee as well as a brewery so it isn't your typical office park, but still an office park. They offer free tastings. They currently make vodka, vanilla vodka, gin and whiskey. I left with a bottle each of the vodka and whiskey. The tasting room was brightly colored. You have anything you might possibly want to buy there along with the spirit bottles. Glasses, t-shirts and such. The woman who did my tasting was very nice. She told me they only have 4 people on staff, so this is a very small business. Bottles here are cheaper than if you find them elsewhere. If you are making this walk it is worth it to take something home with you. Just my 2 cents. A terrific find. read more

Holy crap is this place good!!! I loved both the whiskey and the gin. I was being a cheapo so I just got the gin. It is douglas fir along with the traditional juniper and lots of other amazing herbal additives. I have been making way too many gin and tonics since I brought it home. The place itself is great. The have little tables for you to sit at and they bring the tasters to the table and give you a run down on the products. It's very low key and no high pressure...no need for pressure sales when the product is amazing and speaks for itself. Well worth the trip! read more

One needs to take a ferry to get to the island and it was not a cheap trip for a few hours. However, we have never been to a distillery and wanted to check out the island and the distillery. The staff was very friendly and informative. They are family owned and the first Washington State certified organic distillery. Hubby tried a couple of vodkas and the gin. The Doug Fir Gin is intoxicating. Notes of juniper, cardamon, doug fir and other botanicals - I wanted dab it behind my ears instead of tasting it. We took a bottle (and it is a beautiful bottle) on our flight home. read more
