Very disappointed. Ordered unfinished wood trim. Sent with high humidity in box and developed mildew and mold . Contacted firm to work with them on re-order and they refused any consideration. Long time customer will avoid using. After posting this review someone named Mike sent me a nasty message today saying "You're just po'd because you didn't get your way." read more

Ordered about 50 sq. ft. of Cherry Wainscot on Monday May 4 at 10:25 am, online. At 11:34 am the Fedex shipping label was created. Here it is 10:42 am on Wednesday May 6. Fedex just delivered. I live 573 miles from Baird Brothers. The Cherry was well packaged and protected from any potential shipping damage. The quality is superior. All 60 pieces are straight as an arrow. read more

I just received my latest order from Baird Brothers. As ALWAYS, I'm THRILLED! I discovered them years ago, after the "Big Box" stores forced the closing of ALL THREE of my local go-to Family Lumber Yards. I discovered the CHEAP KRAP at H.D. / LOWES was milled super thin, was almost always cupped, bent, damaged, or otherwise Squirrely. H.D. had oak casing in 14' or 16' lengths, way too long to maneuver thru the crap-packed aisles, then stand 10th in line at the single register. The only doors in stock at either are the paper & cardboard featherweight junk for "First Time Flippers" who need a low-price and lousy quality. My original Baird order was a tractor-trailer load of oak doors, base molding, backer molding, chair rail, and cherry crown molding, for an addition I built on my home. I would never again use anyone else for Hardwood. Everything was ready to stain- no sanding, filling, dent repair, or prayers to save my materials. The time I save by not having to examine every inch of Baird products (As I used to do with big box) has added a few years to my life. My latest "Mail Order" items were super-thick oak casing. They arrived in a PADDED carton, and were PERFECT. Much better than anything sitting in either big box store a mile from my house, as I write. I read the single "One Star" review from Goober Jenkowitz, and need to say I have NEVER had a single issue with ANYONE at Baird. I have spoken with multiple employees over the years, for assorted issues, and they have been 100% straight with me, and have made right any issue I've ever raised with them. Have always had excellent service here. They have high quality hardwood floors and other products. You may find cheaper prices but it won't be the same quality. Their engineered hardwoods have a thick layer of wood on the top, so if you have to sand and refinish them in the future, you can. A lot of other places sell very thin hardwood on top of the engineered wood. read more

I ordered a 7.5 inch wide x 1 inch deep x 60 inch long lumber at $135.00. The item arrived with a round gouge approximately 4 inches in diamete. I sent a photo to the company but no response. I have order a good deal worth of lumber in the pas, with good results. I never had an issue so I had no exp with the customer service department to gauge the response. Well now I have a $135.00 defective board on my hands. read more

I saw Alex A's review that gave Baird Bros a one star and I was so shocked because my experience was so different that I checked out his profile and yup, you guessed it. He gives out one-star reviews for everything which means it's probably him. Anyway, Baird Bros are great and if you truly want high-quality wood, they are your go-to guys. And personally, I found their customer service great because they don't make you feel like a donkey if you don't know the lingo. read more

Baird Brother went ambitious lately, jacking up prices across the board and increasing lead time up to 40 days. Jake communications were prompt but not always courteous. Baird Brother has good products, but considering the above I will shop elsewhere. read more

I ordered custom hand railings from Baird Brothers in January 2017. They got back to me with pricing and delivery a day later. I placed the order and the items were delivered on time. The quality of the railings was very good and they look great now that they've been installed. I will choose Baird Brothers agin, next time I need some custom milled hardwood. read more

We are still in the process of trying to get a door made. The situation is now verging on ridiculous and Baird Bros. is looking more and more inept. My husband has had to bring our door to the company twice, the first time of which they kept it for 4-5 days--mind you this is an "outside" door into the house, so we had no door during that time except for a storm door with little locking ability. Baird has been working on this one door since the end of August. They finally had it ready this past week (October) and my husband quickly discovered that they had not created the proper cutouts for our antique hinges. Back to the shop! We just picked up the door again and when my husband went to install it, he discovered that the door is too tall. Too tall! How does a company of supposed master craftsmen not get the height correct? Baird has had our original door twice now and have failed to take proper measurements. They have also not attempted to "make it right" with us by refunding some of the money that has already been fully paid, nor offering to come to our house and get the job done once and for all. I am more than disappointed in their professionalism and expertise. The company seems to be lacking in both. If you go to the mill you will see that it is a beautiful place, but it appears that the "craftsmen" are not up to snuff. I also agree with the one other comment about Baird Bros. in regards to the rude manner displayed by the man at the counter. I actually had to pick up our door the first time and the man was not pleasant at all. read more
