Baked on 8th has delicious treats of all kinds. This is a must for me if I'm in the area. The shop is easy to spot with their colorful building and mural. They have a parking lot with free parking on the side of the building. It's a huge bonus that it's quick and easy to park. The shop has several cases that are always packed with a variety of treats. They have whole cakes, cake slices, decorated cookies, sweet scones, savory scones, rice krispy bars, seven layer bars, lemon bars, muffins, several types of cookies, and more. Even when I have arrived in the middle of the day the cases have been full and still have a great variety. I have loved everything I have tried here. My favorites are the rice krispy treats (especially the fruity one), the dolly bar, the almond cookie, and scones. The cake slices are delicious, but very rich. Wowowowow. Incredible baked goods! The pop tarts are so, so good. Smells incredible, everything was beautiful, it's a small shop without seating but they do have an espresso machine and sell coffee. I also got cookies - chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, and sugar. The cookies were all awesome. I can't wait to go back and get cake! They have a huge selection of bakery items though, and a lot of them looked really good, so I'd definitely come back to try a few other things. The bakery is convenient to access, free parking and service is friendly. They helped pick out my assortment of cookies and boxed them with care. The cakes looked amazing! They also had a nice assortment of the cut out decorated cookies. All the cookies were a hit. They were on the larger size, fresh, tasty and the first to be eaten. Their cases still had plenty of options and we picked up 2 cookies and this one bar I can't remember the name, haha. We were promptly greeted after we arrived and ordered immediately, it was hard to make a decision when being stared at by all the sweets in the cases. After we ordered we enjoyed the treats by their window as they have a counter available for dining in. I ordered a Barbie-themed cake from Baked on 8th for my daughter's 21st birthday and placed the order a month in advance with a specific pickup time -- Friday the 7th at 6:30 PM. On the morning of pickup, I received a text saying I had to pick it up before 5 PM due to staffing issues. Unfortunately, my flight didn't even land in Nashville until 4:30, so this completely threw off our plans. I explained the situation, but was told my only options were to pick it up before 5 or the next morning when they opened at 8. There was no flexibility, no apology, and no real effort to accommodate, even though this was a prearranged order. We had planned to celebrate that night, but had to change everything because of this last-minute change. When my husband picked up the cake the next morning, they just handed it over with no acknowledgment or apology. While the cake itself was beautiful and tasted great, the lack of communication and customer service was really disappointing -- especially for such a special occasion that had been planned so far in advance. read more

Baked on 8th needs to be closed down. It is criminal how good this place is! We ordered pumpkin bread and the walnut brown sugar pumpkin pie for thanksgiving. I've come to this place a couple of times and have had a couple of different cakes. I still haven't gotten to try the Red Velvet cake but one of these days I will. So far I've tried the Strawberry cake, the Cookies and Cream, Neapolitan and Vanilla Almond. Of those options. I enjoyed the Strawberry cake the most. The flavor was good and the icing didn't feel too overpowering. The Vanilla Almond was also another good flavor as well. The almond was subtle and meshed well with the vanilla cake. The Neapolitan was alright but it didn't stand out too much for me. The cookies and cream cake had good flavor but I felt there was too much icing/was overpowering. Fabulous and delicious, and owned by a woman ( and also visit her eclectic store next door- "Electric Mixer")!!!! We moved near Baked on 8th just before Covid and order from here often. Sadly, they closed for remodeling and are still pick up outside only as they await some interior design products to arrive before reopening. The online menu is easy to navigate , text the number once you're in the parking lot to the left of the building and they will quickly text you when your order is ready. We craved the Jewish apple cake (our fave) at 5 pm on Saturday but they were long sold out so instead got a slice each of vanilla almond cake and strawberry. Huge slices and delicious warmed up. Nice folks, great cakes, brownies , cookies etc. but mostly look forward to them opening up again so we can come inside and see all the treats for ourselves!! We keep coming back!!! The only thing that wasn't stellar was the cookies. They were kind of hard. Everything else was phenomenal. The cake looked dry, but it wasn't AT ALL. I didn't eat my piece until the next day, and it was still perfect. The chess pie squares were good. The pop tart was divine. I got it because I read they're known for these, so I had to try one. So glad I did. Just amazing. Husband said the rice Krispy was awesome. The online ordering process was really easy. Don't miss out! While I love Baked on 8th for cakes on any given day, I used them to make my wedding cake and it was delicious!! They made a three tier cake and decorated it with gold flakes. They were easy to work with and the flavor was amazing - went with the white almond cake! We also ordered half of a sheet cake so we could have additional cake for the guests! For the sheet cake, we ordered the cookies and cream flavor and it was a huge hit! I cannot recommend them enough! read more

This shop was easy to find and did have its own side parking lot which I was nice, also small party supply shop next door. I did pay $6 for a large piece of white cake. While the cake was ok it was the icing that was rather boring and tasteless, nothing special. My friend did try a chess bar and said it was fresh and tasted great. So its a mix bag, wld I go back? Currently it is getting renovated, but the online order system is seamless and we always get our bakery items within 5-15 minutes of ordering. We have had a few different things from there but my favorites would be the oreo dolly, galaxy brownie, and a slice of birthday cake. They have a ton of options from muffins, cake, scones, cookies, brownies, and plenty of other "dessert bars". Here's what we tried: Cosmic brownie - nothing to run home to, it was not better than box brownies, Carrot cake - my MIL did not like it, she said the flavor wasn't that of a classic carrot cake, Jewish apple cake - I thought it just ok but my husband did not, he felt that it was a bit on the dry side, Strawberry cake - MIL said this was better than the carrot cake but she wouldn't want it again because it did not taste like any strawberries were used. The only cake that was good was the chocolate ganache, the texture of the cake was very soft but it wasn't anything I'd go back for. If you are looking for cake, this is the place to go! Great quality and details on the cake - it is moist and has just the right amount of frosting and filling. I got the cookies n cream and I was very impressed with the flavor and texture of the cake. It was spot on and not too sweet. They do specific and special designs for cakes, but you have to order in advance (~2 weeks) and they can come up with any design. I must say in May, it's a big month with graduation, Mother's Day, and birthday so they need more notice in advance. However, for their standard cakes, you can order the day before 6pm or the day of depending on how many cakes they still have. After passing this place weekly and drooling over sweets and cakes friends have picked up from here, I finally got to try Baked on 8th myself. After a particularly rough week at work, I wanted some sweet treats to cheer myself up and ordered some goodies online for same-day pickup. I was impressed that they said my ordered was ready within 5 minutes of placing my order. Parking pro-tip: pull past the building on the left side and there is a small parking area attached to the left side of the building. People come and go quickly, so there always seems to be plenty of spaces here even though the lot is small. The inside is undergoing renovation, so when you arrive, you text a phone number to let them know you've arrived and they will bring your order to you outside. The ordering process itself was so quick, easy, and Covid conscious (staff also always wear masks), it guaranteed a repeat visit for me! The sweets themselves were divine. My favorites were the pb Rice Krispie and the millionaire shortbread but I honestly loved everything. The coconut mini pound cake is not to be missed - super nuanced and perfect hint of coconut without being overpowering. Definitely adding this to my rotation of favorite place to treat yourself.
