I liked the Prosciutto Gruyère Croissant, but the Almond Chocolate Croissant was too sweet for me. The almond frangipane tasted strongly of almond extract, almost giving it an artificial taste. Pastries are my love language so I had to drop in to snag one from Brightside on a Friday morning. I was greeted with a warm smile and advised on which to pick as they all looked amazing! I opted for the limited berry pastry which reminded me of a bear claw. The pastry itself was really flaky and perfectly baked, the inside reminded me of inside an almond croissant, I was a bit underwhelmed with the berry flavor and am overall rating as 4/5 due to the over sweetness. It was topped with sugar as well as a white glazed icing drizzle. I feel one or the other would've been better. I definitely look forward to stopping in again to try another treat! I recommend ordering online if there's something you really have your eye on, because things go fast here. We came around 10am on a Thursday and they were already over half cleared out. The other one is in Portland Maine, so unless you're going on a trip this should be your only bakery you visit in the city. I mostly patronize the West location, but occasionally when the online selection is broader here (my favorites are the cinnaroll, sticky pecan roll, sausage and cheddar brioche, and the seasonal s'mores brioche) I will come East. Both are great and friendly. I love the selection of both savory and sweet pastries, none of which skimp on the good stuff: for example, there is a lot of sausage and cheese in the savory brioche, and the cinnaroll has a generous dollop of cream cheese frosting. read more

So it adds up, but I believe the quality reflects the pricing. They are a little hard to spot, but can be found in the little shop section at porter and Eastland. They are the middle location that sticks out into the free parking lot. I took one bite into the cinnaroll and I was immersed in decadent creamy flavors and a rich yet not too sweet roll. Soft yet not too soft. Everything had the right combination. Definitely my favorite cinnaroll in all of Nashville! The first time I went in I didn't know much about them. I saw a few of their beautiful pastries on Instagram and that alone sold me on giving it a try. Unfortunately for me is I hadn't been paying enough attention to realize that they sell out, and QUICKLY! By the time I rolled in around 10:30 am there was only about half the selection left. I went with a savory ham and cheese croissant, the berries & cream (seasonal, no longer available at least this year), and the cinnamon bread pudding. To say I was blown away is an understatement, and to prove that I'll list the others I've tried: chocolate croissant, almond croissant, sunshine roll, southern croissant (another seasonal with fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese), cinnamon roll....seriously the list goes on and on. On top of that, the staff is amazing. The bakeshop gets busy early on the weekends, but they do not rush you and will take the extra time to explain the offerings or make recommendations.
