My first experience with Baked and it was everything I read. When I first called, Adrienne was very nice and patient over the phone and when I arrived Melissa did my tan and I have to say, it was really great! The Salon is very clean and nicely spaced and there isn't any awkwardness when you are standing there half naked...... I give this place a 3 star. I was happy with their service and how they allowed me to go 30 min ahead of schedule AND they helped me through this process. The one thing I didn't like was how they didn't spray my front too well. Even before I washed off the bronzer, I noticed how the front was a bit lighter than the front. You could also tell there was a line on my right side. And when I did wash off the bronzer (I think that's what it is called), I definitely could see a line down the right side of my body. There was no line on the left side. I contribute this to the machine they used because the person that sprayed me had to test a few times to see if the color came out. I would definitely advise the next person that if this happens again, to tell them to change the machine. Now for the color. I came out a bit orange, but I think it is because my skin was very light before. I wouldn't come here again only because I'm not familiar with the area and looked very scary at night. i doubt you'd be reading unless you already want an airbrush, but for the newbies, i would first say that i highly recommend it. i'm very pale but look better tanned and i love the sun and beach, tho' i've (finally) learned that my skin just isn't made for it w/o lots of sunscreen. i've also tried the booth spray tan--awful and streaky, and the spa-glow kind of hand-applied cream--too light, expensive, and a bit too close and personal. so i love airbrush in general. and as for baked, it's great. the woman who runs it is awesome--really laid back (i always seem to be running late on fridays when i go), friendly, professional, and quick! she has given me lots of good advice about how it works. the location is light, clean, and convenient. my tans have all lasted about a week but i'm sure that you can extend them if you're better about moisturizing than i am. i would highly recommend loose clothes and ideally, having some down time for a couple hours after. (if not, it still works.) i also love their online booking system and the coupons and specials! read more

Well, the only complaint I can make about Baked is that I am now ADDICTED to getting tans here, and only here. I won't go anywhere else! The service and results are easily the best in the city, possibly the best in the tri-state area. I've gotten both the quickie tan and the organic tan and they both deliver great results, it really only depends on your timing constraints and how long you would like your tan to last. The process is super quick, not messy at all, and Adrienne makes sure you walk out of there with all the knowledge you need to keep your tan looking perfect as long as you can. I used to tan, a lot, yes I admit it, and have been spray and self tanning for years. I went to Baked Tanning before going away on vaca after reading great reviews, and they were all spot on! Adrienne was extremely accommodating with my schedule and was able to fit me right in. The whole experience was great - the shop is adorable, she is so welcoming, and the airbrush tan blew me away. I was a perfect shade of brown, with a little hint of bronze that gave an incredibly realistic sunkissed look. Wonderful. I've had a lot of spray tans in my life... what they do here is on a different level. My technician patti was so thorough and I could tell her technique was extremely conscious with every stroke. I really appreciate the extra steps they take to ensure the tan doesn't settle in places it shouldn't by applying + feathering the barrier cream for you, dusting the inner arms after the tan, + helping you dry off so you don't mess up the tan yourself! I also love that they offer stickies for the feet (it's so easy to get tan on the bottoms when you're getting tanned!) Best spray tan in Philly! I went to Baked after a horrific spray tan at another salon and they were so helpful in picking a color and reassuring me I would not look like a crazy person! I have been getting sprayed at Baked for years and thought things couldn't get better, but they have!!! I love my sprays but I also love my hot showers, which made the spray fade so fast. I told the owner about my concerns and she told me about the Liquid Sun AirBronze. The color is straight out of the islands and it last SO LONG even with my hot showers!!!
