Zakia the owner is like the queen of brows. She makes them appear even if their not even there. I've tried her eyebrow wax shape & tint $25, eyebrow wax & fill$15, and faux mink lashes$50. The eyebrow tint is great but for me they didn't even last a week. The lashes only lasted a few days. Once a few fell out I pulled them all out. She is a bit pricy but other places are around the same or even more in price and they aren't as good. She is always booked weeks in advance so you have to book early!! I will continue to come to her whenever I can book an appt because she does brows so good. read more

I was recommended to come here to get my brows tinted this is my first time having my brows tinted and the young lady rtia did my brows she wanted to make sure I was satisfied before I left her chair this place is nice and clean the space is very open and the definitely gives you a spa feel there were certain things that you shouldn't do with your brow tint within the first three days however I felt as though my brows were not really tinted but just using a regular brow dip but that's just me I am a healing cancer patient so I don't have many hairs in my brows maybe they may have lasted a bit longer or had a different outcome if I had more hair in my eyebrows I don't know I'm just giving you my honest opinion and experience from Zakia's even though I felt as though my brows were easily removed I still would go back for Zakia's and I would still recommend her shout out to you Zakia read more

I agree with Lina S. Went to her once and she did my lashes pretty nice. But, her customer service and her response to email or text was veryyy poor. I wouldn't give zero stars but she lacks professionalism and her customer service was very poor. She is unreliable and hard to reach. Also each time I made an appointment with her (Except for that one time over 6 months ago), she canceled on me. It was always before a major event and I would make an appointment at least 8 weeks in advance. I would NEVER do business with her nor recommend her to family or friends. If you are patient and customer service is not a top priority for you, then go for it. read more

I only gave it a 1 because the front desk lady was super sweet and they are extremely cautions with Covid which is great. I usually only do food but for extreme matter when the service is horrible I have to do it. I found this place online and decided to try it out because I wanted to support my melonated brothers and sisters. Welp here is the review, I payed first for a waxing service which I never understand the concept and actually hate. When you go to a restaurant you don't pay for your food first, you pay after your service is complete but I digress, so I pay for a WAX for my brows, I keep emphasizing this because it is super important when I got there STAR started to shape it with a comb cool, then she started using a razor which is ODD because I usually do this method at home. She then proceeds to wax the bottom only half of it the not the full thing( I hope that make sense) I'm like what then she goes back in with a razor, I'm like are you going to tweeze this lady states IF YOU WANT ME TOO ! I'm become confused with that response: what the heck did I pay you for to give you instructions this is your job so I say yes. Then she finished with the brows mind you it looks like it just brushed I'm like are you going to wax the top she like no we never do- insert confused emoji, I then ask even if it's for the tint services do you wax the top she said nope we never wax the top- human being I PAID for a waxing service not a razor service. I then asked her for my other brow if she can start at the top she states again if you want me too I am legit in shock at this moment because there is nothing I can do. She then uses a razor again I ask her to tweeze which she barley did because I don't think she knew how to use it. I will say that she was nice about the whole thing but It's irrelevant because my brows are messed up badly. I am highly disappointed, confused and just all in all pissed for fraudulent service. Do not waste your time like I did! Zakia does not value new customers or their time. She only cares about herself. I scheduled my microshading appointment in May 2020 for August 18th at 2pm. A few days later the time moved up to 1pm. I was ok with not being consulted because the appointment was months away. 3 days before my appointment, while I was at work, I was asked if I could come in at 12:20pm. I informed them that I couldn't, but would need to check my schedule. By the time I got home that evening I received notification that my appointment time changed without my consent. I brought this to her attention and she blocked me from her social media after one inquiry and canceled all future appointments with her. She refused to reschedule my appointments and expected me to apologize to her for the way I reacted. I simply wanted to know why her time was more important than mine. I still don't know why. I was only told that the time no longer worked for her. If you have anything negative to say about her she blocks you and attacks you via social media. I reported her to the BBB, but there was nothing they could do. I don't condone not supporting black businesses, but take your hard earned money to a black business that values their clients and treats them with respect. read more

At last! I finally found my new eyebrow place for the Germantown, West Mt. Airy Area! I am very particular about who and what touches my eyebrows. I've been to Zakia a few times and thought I should express what a great job she does. After finding Zakia's Brow Bar on yelp and seeing that the establishment has an IG account (needed to see pictures of results), I decided to give it a try. Zakia only sees client by appointment. She uses a nifty app called StyleSeat that allows clients to select a date of service, the service they wish to receive, and also allows clients to enter payment for an express pay type of deal. Clients receive text messages leading up to their appointment and are given the option to authorize a tip via SMS. Zakia offers a variety of services for different eyebrow needs. I myself was not sure what kind of service I would need so on my first visit I selected eyebrow, wax, shape, tint. Zakia took the time to let me know that my eyebrows were thick already and did not need tint, just a little waxing and shaping for me. I was so impressed with the job she did that on my second scheduled visit I had to leave my nail appointment mid-manicure because I was going to be late for my Zakia appointment. The brow bar is currently in a church building, which may throw some people off, but there are signs leading to the appropriate room. The only reason I am not giving this place a full 5 stars is because Zakia is ALWAYS booked. You have to make an appointment several weeks in advance, so right now, last minute walk-ins aren't an option. If you let your eyebrows grow out to caterpillars like me and have last minute plans you may be out of luck, so plan ahead, schedule your appointment, and get ready to feel like a new lady (or new guy) with beautiful brows! read more

Atmosphere was extremely distressing, the technicians in the shop was very discourteous and unprofessional, gossiped about new clients that just left the shop and did not speak when I walked in. Service was mediocre and rushed. I received the classis mink isolation and brow tenting. A couple of lashes fell off and this isn't even day two, my brows was tinted to dark, however; most of the tinting on one brow still managed to ware off the next day. I followed all of the technician's dictions regarding washing the face with a soft damp rag avoiding the eyes and the brows and not using product that are oil based. So my search continues for an establishment that has great customer service and technique is flawless. read more

Visited Zakia's brow bar yesterday. The location was a little difficult to find so I almost left but I decided to try again and I found it! I would be a regular here if I lived in Philadelphia full time. Her suite has awesome potential, I can't wait to see what she'll do with the space. Zakia's was friendly and made I was comfortable. I have only had my eyebrows threaded the last seven years, so I was nervous about waxing but Zakia's did awesome. I love my eyebrows!! I was here on Saturday. I didn't have an appointment, so i had a bit of a wait - which I totally understand. I don't remember the name of the lady who did my brows. She was petite and had braces. She was super nice to me, she cared abt my experience and I appreciate that. I saw the owner Zakia and she was just as nice in person as she is on social media. Overall it was a good experience. I've been to the Brow bar around 10 times or so over the last year and I can say they give amazing service and have always been extremely courteous, pleasant and appreciative of my business. My main go to is Lu I get compliments for weeks and weeks when she does my lashes. She always listens to exactly what I want and does them perfectly. Brow tinting does wear off a bit fast but I have naturally full brows so it doesn't bother me very much. I'm a bit shocked to see comments saying the ladies are rude or unprofessional. Like I've said I have been many many times, spending at least two hours in the shop and have never experienced such a thing. For the price you will get amazing lashes that last longer than most places, in a clean, comfortable atmosphere. :) read more

Very POOR customer service.. take days to respond to text. My lashes were horrible clumped together and rushed (done in 20mins). I was not happy with the results at all and wasn't offered my money back. Staff got really ignorant and nasty when I said I was unhappy with the services. I would NOT RECOMMEND this place to my worst enemy! Very Very very unprofessional! I am all for supporting black owned business as I would want nothing more than to see my people flourish and do well, however there are just an endless list of unfortunate things that have taken part in this review. Let me just go down the list. I initially found Zakia's work to be very neat ,so I booked an appointment through style seat early December for my birthday.Almost immediately after booking the appointment per style seat I received an email stating everything was confirmed. Zakia then texted me and asked for me to reschedule, stating that she was unable to do them that day due to prior engagements. I know what your thinking.... why would the appointment even be available on style seat to begin with if it was unavailable? I , too had the same question pondering in my head. She then texted me the following day suggesting her partner Jas offers the same services , at this point I declined the offer, as I had not seen Jas' work. This was just the first example of unprofessional practice. So here we are in February , I booked the appointment 3 weeks prior. I received a reminder of the appointment Friday morning, as the appointment was Saturday morning. I then came made my way to my point that was scheduled at 12:00 pm and arrived in the "ALLEGED AREA". I then circled the block several times , I messaged Zakia via instagram... no response Called the number listed on styleseat.com that she had been texting me from prior.... no answer asked bypassing pedestrians... no clue as to where the shop was located . I then decided to head home... which is 40 minutes away from the so-called facility. 30 minutes I get a call from an odd number, it was Zakia. She advised that since I had missed the initial start time she would only be able to do the top lashes. I told Zakia of the hard time I had finding the place and she said in a nonchalant tone "Oh yeah we located in the church, my bad I got to let you know" at this point I was infuriated. All of the measures I had to take to get such a careless casual response. She then said just reschedule on styleseat.com and hung up... no goodbye , apology. I then Called back and was told yeah "just reschedule, what else you want me to say". At this point I was completely sold that I would NEVER give my business to this establishment. As if I wasn't pissed enough she then charged me 17.50 for a cancellation fee! I feel as though this was nothing short of a scam and I feel completely robbed , from the inconvenience, to the unprofessional customer service, the lack of communication,the attitude, the waste of my gas and dagger in my day. God forbid if I had been traveling on public transportation it would be so much more inconvenient. But I digress this is just a mess no substantial establishment, HORRIBLE customer service. Please people if you value a dollar or your personal time take your business somewhere else it's just not worth the hassle or headache. Furthermore do not plan an event depending on her services, you will be disappointed completely... hopefully if you do decide to allow her to do your eyelashes she will tell you prior to your travel arrangements that it is located in some hidden location. read more
