I spent a few hours reading in Bakehaus on a Sunday morning. I had a delicious breakfast burrito, iced chai, and chocolate croissant. It's a really cute space and they have a nice outdoor seating area too. The very kind and friendly staff even let my dog sit inside with us. Will definitely be back!!

With a German-inspired menu that gracefully straddles all the various camps (vegetarian/hot/cold/classic), this place is a breath of fresh air. The menu is lettered in a simple, attractive font and has a perplexing array of enticing options. Müsli? Chicken and waffles? Avocado toast? I ordered the Angry Amy, which appears to be a standard vegetarian breakfast sandwich, but was so soft and rich and decadent I was taken aback. The herbed English muffin perfectly framed the egg and melted cheese, and the hit of mayo and avocado just took it over the top. Übertoll! The large cappuccino I got was a bit light- I don't think the foam even came close to the rim. Also the scone my gf got was a little fluffier than standard- a good scone is chewy, and this could have stood a little more kneading, but the blueberry and icing were spot on. All in all, this was a little Sunday visit to Europe for an hour, and we'll be back.

Amazing food and quick service! The online ordering system is great and let's you know when your food is ready. The portion size and prices were excellent! Along with my breakfast sandwich I got an iced coffee which wasn't too strong or too light in flavor. Just right! Great place to stop in for some food and go on a nice walk around the area.

Found a new go to place and I cannot wait to go more often Angry Amy ($6): herb and garlic English muffin with egg, cheddar, avocado, tomato, and angry sauce I haven't had a breakfast sandwich in a long time and this totally hit the spot. The English muffin provides a nice herby and garlicky flavor that pair well with the creamy avocado and cheddar. The angry sauce is creamy and has a subtle spice that make this sandwich even more enjoyable! This paired with their @speedwellcoffee was just amazing

What an incredible addition to Cushing Square! I've had just about every croissant they offer (huge, flaky, soft, chewy, perfect) and the kouign amann is definitely a star! It's beautifully caramelized on the bottom, yet not overly sweet at all. In fact, all of the sweet pastries I've tried are perfectly balanced, never being too sweet. I look forward to having some of their heartier fare and the day when I can enjoy a meal inside this cute cafe!

OMG! This cafe is outstanding. Not only do they make great salads and parfait but also their basic breakfast sandwich and caprese panini sandwich are delicious. Their coffee is the bomb too. If you are a crossiant snob then look no further, Bakehaus will take your palate all the way to European bakeries. I love this place whether for breakfast, brunch, lunch or an afternoon snack. A must go!!!! They have really nice outdoor seating and the team takes great care to sanitize during covid. The team always greets you with a smile and is there to make your meal special. They use all compostable plastic and paper.

I've also made a customized version of the demogorgon to add caramel core and fudge sauce. You mostly taste the toppings more than the actual ice cream. The demogorgon is great for the chocolate on chocolate craving. I didn't like the Vader as much because the frosting on top is too sweet. Cannolis and cream I subbed the Oreo frosting with their homemade whip. Their whip doesn't taste like anything sadly and their frosting is overpowering. I probably wouldn't get this again since all you taste is the chocolate chips and a hint of Oreo. The yogurt itself was bland. For the blueb sundae I love the fresh blueberries, pudding and crumb topping. It's very nice for a fruit ice cream just wish the ice cream was more flavorful. Order online for easier pickup as there is only 1 screen to take orders at and no seating inside. Quick service. Has picnic tables outside to sit and not too bad to find parking on the street. Has some little tables but limited and twinkly lights at night. Staff seemed very stressed when people crowd around and needs better organization of the pickup area vs ordering vs waiting to avoid this frustration/rudeness from the staff.

There is a good amount of seating in the store and free water for customers to fill themselves which I always love. The Bacon Egg and Cheese was a wise decision and priced very very well, I would definitely recommend that! My favorite sweet was the strawberry tea cake, top class that was. The donut and banana bread were also very tasty but I didn't get to eat enough of them to feel as strongly about them as I do the strawberry tea cake. I think it's assume you can't go wrong with anything you can purchase from Butternut Bakehouse,... Enjoy! The ambiance was full of energy with friendly staff and happy customers. Adding to the neighborhood feel is their bulletin board of local ads and promotions which really adds to the community feeling of this place. The service was friendly despite being busy and moved very quickly. I would definitely come back here.

Went for Mother's Day 2026 and could not have been more disappointed. We made a reservation for 2pm…read moreand by 2:50 had still only received water. When our tea came we did not even have napkins or spoons to stir the tea; the place had only one server for a holiday and everyone in the restaurant was waiting an extremely long time. Why wouldn't you have more servers at a tea house on Mother's Day? I wound up getting up from our table to get our spoons, knives, and napkins from a stand I saw because we weren't being paid attention to. The food itself was pretty measly. Would never ever return. Very bad experience.

I heavily regret to say this was the worst experience ever in Tea Service!…read more We arrived here promptly at 10:00 AM as it was the only availability for Mother's Day. Firstly, I wasn't entirely thrilled about the tacky decor with peeling wallpaper. I understand they were trying to be vintage and eclectic, but it looked very cheesy to me as mismatched, teapots and plates and cups was displayed for a yard sale. On top of it they had very dirty filmy water glasses on the table which is very interesting considering we're there for tea. Why on earth would you have bottled water in Tea service? I requested another glass so our server literally picked the other glass from another table which was equally if not more filmy. Here's the most annoying part. We were there on time at 10 o'clock and there were two other parties that came literally 5 to 10 minutes after we were seated. What I don't understand is these two other parties had their tea and tea plates first and we are literally sitting there with the tea we ordered without anything to eat. Our server seemed to be overwhelmed, unnecessarily considering it wasn't crazy busy with a line out the door on the contrary, there were a couple of empty tables. There was no real reason for us to wait for our food. We waited for a good 20 minutes. We did not complain at all, but our server knew that we weren't happy based on my husband's very hungry expression and my silence. She however, apologized voluntarily about the wait and said "Sorry for the wait ...as you can see we're quite overwhelmed". When our tea tower finally came, it looked fine except we were missing the two scones. She never checked up on us and when we flagged her down regarding our missing scones. She comes back with the two ugliest scones ever one tiny one and one larger one. I was trying to not think that this was a personal vendetta. If this person was properly trained, they would know that if we're waiting, you should put two extra stones to make up for the horrible experience.. now honestly she was an older woman (who am I kidding? We're probably same age) so I felt very bad for her for some reason. There was no reason for any issues honestly, how hard is it for anyone to plate pastries and tea sandwiches on a plate??? it shouldn't take long. I have gone to many Tea services in Boston ( like The Courtyard) and even the Vintage Tea House in Lexington, which I believe might be the same company. So what happened? Different ownership? The restroom is equally bad and this entire place needs a serious upgrade. We left without any acknowledgment or goodbyes, which also confirmed the lack of warmth here. I want to be clear that it is not my best interest to put down any small businesses. On the contrary I am a big promoter of smaller businesses. But unfortunately, I know my teaware, Teas, bites, and proper service. This establishment could be top notch. If you look like looking for an upscale experience where you can have bridal showers or any celebratory occasions I would recommend other places. If you are more casual, then this place would be more appropriate. I think I overdressed for the occasion.
