It was late when I called, around 7pm on a Friday. The girl who answered was so sweet and checked her computer to see if there was a tech in my immediate area or if she needed to call one from another area. There was a tech immediately available and within a half hour he was here. Such a nice young man, he diagnosed the problem, showed it to us and then gave us a range of options as far as what he could do to fix it. He gave us a price for each option, once we decided he keyed it right in and never tried to up sell us on anything. (You want to lose my business then make an up sell attempt on me) The job took him about 2 hours to complete and he gave us periodic updates on it. My only let down was that he wouldn't let me make him a plate for dinner! Come on, the guy missed dinner and anything of interest he had for a Friday night for some sweaty lady!

He recommended replacing the compressor and coil since he said they were under warranty and we would have to pay for labor. When I told him we didn't buy the unit from his company, he said that now everything was different. He did charge the unit with refrigerant but I never heard feom him again. Days later, a tech from a Corpus company found the problem almost immediately. The Schraeder valve (same as the valve in tires) was defective. Replaced the $1 part and we're good to go.

That same "other company" also tried to take advantage of my mother and so we called Express Air for a second opinion. It turns out the other company switched some wires around during a maintenance call and then tried to charge my mother thousands of dollars for a new unit when all she needed was to have two wires switched back the correct way. If you want honest, dependable service at a reasonable price, I highly recommend Express Air for all of your AC/heating needs.

The technician reviewed all options with us and answered all my questions thoroughly. I didn't feel like they were trying to press any of the options and after talking with a couple other local companies we chose their services. This was an easy decision as BJ's didn't press us for the sale and went into great detail about my AC/Heating system. I have had the new outside unit for 9 mos. now and the system is working great. I ran into the owner at a local function and let him know how great his technician was and how professional this job was done. HIs name is Sylvester and he was as nice as can be.
