There are train tracks behind the hotel. We didn't hear the train but I think we felt the train. And outside the pool it's a disgusting abandoned train, but maybe that just goes with the theme of Cranbrook.

The recently renovated rooms are basic but provide everything you would need including a coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, flat screen tv, air conditioner and free wi-fi.There is even a small closet type area which is nice so you aren't tripping over your luggage. DVD players and a large selection of DVDs are available for rent in the main office. The staff is very friendly and the very affordable price even includes a continental breakfast. The only down side is the noise from the highway, but if I'm ever in the area again I will be staying here.

The rooms are dated and from the late 90s/2000s, which in itself isn't terrible. However the magnet door cards that can't hold the door unlock info are not. We went through 7 cards on our three night stay. Also the hotel doesn't not offer or let you know about having your room made up. With multiple people staying in a suit at the very least you think they would drop off towels and coffee, this is not the case. Even if you request to have your room made up they will not do it. If you want towels, toilet paper or coffee , get it yourself with the attitude to match. Pool is small and only one of the hot tubs was working. AC needs a cleaning as we all left with a cough and stuffy noses that went away when we were out of the room. Upon check out the staff cannot even be bothered to ask how was your stay, it's like they already know.

They have coffee in the lobby during the day and my husband said it is very good coffee. My husband is a golfer and we were offered a special rate if he played 1 round of golf on their golf course. I enjoyed having TV's in both the living room and bedroom. We could both enjoy our own programs in the evening.

Drawbacks: bed is really firm, noisy from the highway pretty much next door, blacking out the room is tricky, but nearly possible. All manageable, it just stops me from giving it 5 stars instead of 4.

Apparently this system is unforgiving when it comes to payment as you are required to pay in full at the time of booking whether it is a week or a year prior to your stay. This campground fills up a year in advance and you are encouraged to book as such. Because of this we will not be back. The customer service leaves a lot to be desired as most of them don't seem happy to be here. The upkeep on the campsite is lacking as well. The bathrooms aren't checked, hence no toilet paper several days. Overall it is just going downhill.
