While the facade is nothing fancy, Baker's Dozen offers a display of marvelous doughnut choices. If you like filled doughnuts, they have the long ones, not just the round! The sales people are quick so be ready with what you want. The card machine wasn't working for the credit card tap when I was there, but they were still able to swipe the card. Not sure why I haven't reviewed Baker's Dozen. Maybe because it was so good that I was too busy eating my donuts! This is the most legit place for donuts in the area. I don't even care about the franchises anymore. It's quite a drive for me now but it's worth it. If it's your first time, I would go for the apple fritter. You'll be hooked and will be coming back for more...like me. I haven't found anything close to it. The dough is moist with just enough apple and cinnamon flavor. This place is your classic old-school donut shop, and the donuts are delicious. You can tell they are fresh; the yeast (raised) donuts are light and fluffy and the icing is the right amount of sweetness. When I'm looking for a donut fix this is always my top pick. Service is fast and friendly, even when there is a line. It is sparse like a typical donut shop, but there currently isn't any seating. I recommend trying a variety of donuts, but especially the apple fritters. I'm not sure how they get the glaze so crisp, but it is amazingly crisp, and the bits of cooked apple mixed into the dough are perfection. I would go with 5 stars if there was seating and if they could manage to never run out of those delicious apple fritters. read more

My friend recommended this place so we pulled up today and saw their sign saying they had sold out as we walked up, and turned to walk away but one of the owners opened the door to offer us a box of the last ones of the day. The storefront isn't fancy and the location may seem a bit odd for a donut shop, but I think it's part of the charm. I got 2 Apple fritters, a buttermilk donut, blueberry donut, frosted chocolate cake donut and a strawberry frosted vanilla donut. My total came out to a little over $7.00. That is such a deal for these amazing donuts! All of the donuts are great, but the $1.50 Apple fritter is the BEST. This was a nice discovery that we made just after our lunch up the street at a local restaurant. We found Bakers Dozen by accident but I sure am happy that we did. It's a small, quaint and friendly doughnut shop with lots of character. They have huge variety of donuts that are only .95 cents each. My favorite was the blueberry cake donut. Amazing donuts! I love good old fashioned donuts without all of the fancy frills, frosting and ridiculously sweet toppings. The donut shop seems quite popular and I understand why. The service was good, and the selection was great (of course I arrived at 7:00 am to ensure I had plenty of donuts to choose). I ordered a dozen to take home to my family and the donuts were devoured. I was able to try a raised glazed, old fashioned, chocolate frosted old fashioned and maple glazed old fashioned, all were delicious and perfect!
