Food was delicious and its a dog friendly place so that was a plus. You have the option to sit inside or outside so depending on the weather you can decide. The filter coffee was the beat i had in Amsterdam but i am American so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Pancakes had the right amount of syrup and fruit. Id def comeback here but hopefully by then i have a furry companion to come with!
Had a terrific experience at Bakers & Roasters. They nailed the whole meal, and we couldn't have been more happy! The chai latte was delicious. I have a hard time finding one I really love, but this chai was perfect. Both our meals were fantastic! I got the verge brekkie, which included eggs, cheese, avocado, potatoes, mushrooms, toast and jam. I didn't miss the meat! The mushrooms were in an amazing creamy sauce that I could have drank! The homemade spicy jam was tasty too. Mr B loved his B&R special, which was a traditional breakfast. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and efficient. It's a nice atmosphere inside, but very busy. Be prepared for a wait. We signed up outside, only to see others get in before us that has arrived after us. Frustrating, but we figured out the online system. Recommend Bakers and Roasters!
Very nice breakfast/brunch spot. We got the Dutch and vege breakfast plates for lunch on a rainy day. We had about a 15 minute wait on a weekday afternoon for lunch, guessing this place gets reallly popular over the weekends. It was close to the museums and the Heineken experience, so we made a pit stop here for lunch. The food was great, clean and fresh! Since they were so busy, it took forever to get the food. So if you are trying to keep an appointment, think twice.
Phew finally some good protein! As a visitor from the US one can only have but so much bread so we went on the hunt for eggs and this place did not disappoint. It's pretty small inside and there was a waitlist to get on when we showed up. Since we were a party of two the time went by fast. They had great coffee options as well as a few cocktails. My friend had an espresso martini and I had a cappuccino. My friend had pancakes meal with eggs and sourdough. The pancakes looked amazing . They were the fluffiest pancakes I've ever seen. His food was amazing. I had a the power breakfast with chicken, black beans, egg whites, cottage cheese, and brown rice. I added some avocado. The meal held me over for the remainder of the day. They had so many things on the menu I wanted to try including their desserts. Definitely a place I would return to.
Very nice on first impression! Greeted and seated in less than 2 minutes. This is a nice breakfast/brunch spot for two. The seating inside is really tight yet it still didn't feel overcrowded or too noisy. There were some good selections on the menu but I decided on the French toast with a side of scrambled eggs. The French toast was amazing! Good enough that I'll likely go back before leaving Amsterdam. There were a few different servers in rotation and they checked in often. There were no delays in service at all. I did have an espresso martini which paired very well with my meal.
Really solid brunch place in a convenient part of town. Portions were generous, but nothing felt too heavy; every component of our dishes felt fresh and healthful. I'm not vegetarian but the veggie brekkie sounded delicious, and it was! Staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was both calm but energizing; it was a great way to start the day.
Amsterdam, May 2023, early lunch for 2. Cute, little place near museums part of the city. Very popular, dont take reservations. There is an online waiting list you can add your name on and wait outside to be called in. We waited 40 min. Very friendly service. Food is ok. I got salmon with eggs Benedict on a gluten free toast. Toast slices were very thick, with very modest, almost unnoticeable layer of butter and very thin salmon, paired with very little sauce on the eggs, made the sandwich very very dry, unbalanced in taste and not enjoyable. My partner had bbq pork bowl with a total opposite - pork meat was lost in the sea of way too sweet sauce. Overall, i don't get it what the whole hope is about. Perhaps we ordered wrong dishes. Definitely was not worth the wait
Food: 5 The menu merges brazilian, kiwi, and dutch food for a super cozy brunch with a great balance of flavors. Service & Ambiance: 5 Everything from the service to the cozy music and seating left me wishing I could take this place home with me. I went on a holiday and seating was tight, but service was still exceptional.
Bakers & Roasters was so good, we went two days in a row! The portions are huge so my fiance and I shared a meal both times. For food, we had the Huevos Rancheros the first day (really good but more like a tostada) with the breakkie potatoes. We tried the Navajo Eggs the second day with sausage and their breakkie potatoes. This was our favorite meal. Everything was delicious and fresh. Their fresh sour cream is so good! For drinks, we tried their mimosas, margaritas, and White Russian. All were consistently good on both days. The White Russian was my favorite - they added caramel/toffee pieces on top which were so good! They get pretty busy, so arriving early is recommended. The service was fantastic - everyone was very friendly and the food/drinks all came out quickly. We sat on the patio both times to enjoy the nice weather. They were super dog-friendly, too! Stunning food - that's all that needs to be said. Outside of the complicated waitlist system (refreshing in the hopes the waitlist opens so that you can quickly type in your name), the rest is absolutely wonderful. I had the Eggs Royale and Pancakes and they were both so good. The smoked salmon is so flavorful.
I enjoyed this place so much and it was seriously one of the cutest brunch places I have ever been too. Tucked away in a little street but easy to find. The wait was fairly quick so that was a plus. Also it's located by the Heineken factory so great place to eat at before you go there. I ordered the power shake and the kiwi breakie to share with the boyfriend. The power shake was so good. You would never know it had protein in it besides the peanut butter and I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter but it didn't taste too peanut butter for me and loved the banana. As for the breakfast it was too good and perfect to share with one other person as I don't really eat breakfast or eat too much. I loved the bacon, potatoes and everything else it came with. The egg was poached nicely and the spinach it cane with was good too. This place is a must in Amsterdam to try! Also great for Instagram too read more

I ordered Eggs Royale and a side of Chorizo. The chorizo tasted great and went well with the perfectly toasted sandwich with and egg on each with lovely smoked salmon Plenty of dining choices for breakfast in the area, but I'm glad I chose this place. This is probably the 1st restaurant in Amsterdam where I received great customer service from the wait staff. They checked on me from time to time. read more

The White Russian and Bloody Mary were soooo good! Whatever my husband got to eat was delicious, breakfast burrito was ok. Server was nice and spoke English. read more
First of all- order the espresso martini. It's my favorite drink I had in Amsterdam. We had to wait a few minutes for a seat but the text system made it so easy. Food was great, service was great- it looks like you can't go wrong with any of the coffee or food. I would definitely recommend it to my friends coming to Amsterdam. And when I am back in town I look forward to coming again. read more

I came in for breakfast on a Friday morning and was seated after a very minimal wait. Even though it was probably not the thing to get, I ordered the Huevos Rancheros because it sounded the most appetizing at the moment. I was not disappointed. It was a simple combination of eggs, beans, avocado, tortilla and salsa, but I was satisfied. Paired with a matcha latte (for the wake up) and a salted caramel white Russian (for fun...it was Friday after all), I was quite happy with my breakfast at Bakers & Roasters. The design scheme was clean, breakfast place and it was busy but I felt like I got everything in time. Service was efficiently friendly and I paid with a chip card. I would come back to try the other coffee options. They appear to be coffee experts, so I'd check that out. read more

We were in Amsterdam for only one morning and yelped local breakfasts and found this one at the top of the list. This place does not disappoint and it may be one of my favorite breakfasts' of all time (a big statement, I know). My boyfriend got an incredible pork (different for breakfast, I'm also aware) with a mango salsa, chipotle aioli sauce, freshly made eggs and toast and the flavors combined so well together. I got the B&R special because I couldn't decide from all the goodness. It was a mix of pancakes, eggs, toast, and bacon. We also shared a side of fruit which was incredible and it was probably the best cappuccino I've had yet. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

It was a good place for brunch,although we had to wait for 40 min to get it after putting our name on waiting list,their service was amazing but i had a expected more for their pancake but it was just a regular pancake,but we enjoyed our brunch time there! read more

Absolutely amazing!!!!! My roommates and I waited about an hour for a table but it was worth it! I ordered the pumpkin porridge (which I think is seasonal), it came with house made marshmallows and is probably the best oatmeal I've ever had! We also ordered mimosas and for €8, the champagne bottle and orange juice made about 3 of them! The customer service was also amazing, our server was super nice and very attentive! If you're ever in Amsterdam this is a must try!!!! read more
Such a cool spot. We grabbed a spot on the first floor on the cute couches rather than wait for a table. We had some breakfast nachos and gluten-free pancakes. Both really great. My friend me I ordered 2 different green healthy drinks. Both were amazing. This place is fun and the food and drinks are great! read more

We decided to come here for breakfast after exploring the city all morning. The wait time was about 45 minutes and they put your cell phone number in and you get a link to check the status of your wait time. I thought that was cool. We were able to order coffee, tea and drinks while we waited, so my husband got himself some coffee, me some hot tea and got my girls hot chocolate. Once we were seated, we decided on the B&R Special which had free range eggs fried or scrambled on top and it came with a side of mini pancakes. We also got the Eggs Royale, which is like eggs benedict with salmon in it. I love that they serve only free-range eggs here and they are trying to go for a healthy concept with their juices. I got a matcha green tea latte, it was delicious. My husband got the carrots turmeric juice and my kids loved it too. My kids got the kids breakfast to share, which came with mini pancakes, bacon and toast with eggs. We had a wonderful breakfast and our waitress was so sweet. It was one of my favorite meals in Amsterdam. read more

Great food, ambiance, and customer service. We were very pleased with our menu selections as the foods were tasty and served at proper temperature. The Kiwi Plate, Huevos Rancheros, pancakes and eggs royal were tops on our plates and pallets. Even the caipirinhas were yummy. We plan to be back! Be sure to sign in from the waitlist on the kiosk when you arrive. read more

We ate here TWICE and once at their other location... does that tell you something? DELISH! Although seating was cramped, the meal was amazingly good (veggie breakfast and espresso drinks especially) - and guess what, you'll eventually get used to those strangers being THAT close to you while you enjoy your meal... maybe. This place is always busy so either get here for breakfast right when they open or test your luck! Haha! read more
Organic. Free-range. Sustainable. B & R is a New Zealand/Brazilian-inspired cafe, serving various breakfast and lunch dishes. They take pride in partnering with local suppliers and making conscious efforts to focus on health and animal welfare. As a result, their prices are high, in an already expensive city. However, one can argue that these ethical decisions are priceless. And the food taste great, for what it's worth. The cafe is located in De Pijp, the neighborhood where our hotel was located. It's super close to the Museum Quarter and the original Heineken brewery, and the tram line that goes to Dam Square is nearby. We came for brunch, and there was a lot of people waiting. I got the Kiwi Brekkie, which I would say is a platter of all the best breakfast foods. You have a hot buttered toast, topped with two eggs ( I got poached), with bacon, sausage, tomato relish, spinach, and mushrooms on the side. Surprisingly it all went well together, I found everything super delicious and well proportioned. Great balance of meat and vegetables, and the eggs were poached nicely. Eggs Florentine had a lot of spinach, which is not as tasty in my opinion. Banana Nut Bread French Toast is a sweet option, topped with a strip of bacon. Portion sizes were decent for all dishes. Most of the eggs were € 12,00 to € 16,50. On the menu, they also have pancakes, waffles, salads, and other unique items. The drink choices are extensive, ranging from coffees to teas to milkshakes to juices to alcohol to New Zealand wine. Service was pleasant, we received our food pretty quickly. We also got glasses of water without asking, which was nice because other restaurants in Amsterdam make that super difficult. Maybe they sensed our Americanness. read more
My wife and I found this restaurant as we were desperately looking for a brunch place after sightseeing. We looked through Yelp and nothing really stood out until we found Bakers & Roasters. If you're and Amsterdam native and are looking for an American style brunch experience then this is the perfect location. The menu options, quality of food, and ambience are great. And judging from how crowded it was we can reliably say that others in Amsterdam share the same sentiment. If your a tourist and planning to grab a bite in between activities then we can highly recommend it as well. There are tons of menu options so you'll surely find something you'll enjoy (although the vegan options are somewhat limited). The service is fast Ana's very friendly. The food comes out pretty quickly even though it was packen when we were there and it was laid back enough to relax and catch a breather. I really enjoyed my food (and I'm a brunch snob). My wife was less enthusiastic because of the limited vegan options. Coffee was really great for both of us. read more

B&R Bakers and Roasters Small and popular place for breakfast/brunch (though bigger than it looks). Broad selection that is dietary sensitive with vegan, gluten-free and dairy free options. They are not very flexible to substitutes as it interferes with the flow of orders but, if you must, they charge 2€ for the change. It all seems good. I had the Navajo eggs. Absolutely loved this place! We had a Hot Toddy and a Bloody Mary. They were exceptional. The Toddy was hot, spicy and fresh and the Bloody was simple, spicy and delicious...not overdone. We ate Huevos Rancheros and Eggs Florentine with gluten free bread and a side of bacon. Everything was exceptional! read more
We were very hesitant to wait for a 2 person table over 50 minutes. But it was VERY worth it. The reservation process was very efficient and allowed us to move through the area and keep track of our place in line without sitting out front. The food was amazing. We travel quite a lot, all over the world, and try to eat breakfast out each day. This was in my top 5 breakfast spots I've ever tried. Pro-tip: it looked like the small bartop was open seating and did not get sat on the reservation list. They didnt mention that when we checked in for reservation, but be sure to ask if you're willing to sit there. read more

This was a great brunch! We were able to get on the waitlist from our hotel via Google--it was a 30-40 minute wait on a Saturday at 9:30. They have a large selection of drinks and different foods, and a TON of vegan/vegetarian options. I had the veggie breakfast with really good bread, avocado, breakfast potatoes, eggs, mushrooms, and halloumi, and my friend had the special. We visited B&R on a Wednesday morning (around 9AM). Although the restaurant was pretty crowded, we were seated immediately. If you're looking for a delicious and hearty breakfast (and you aren't in too much of a rush), this is the place for you! Three of us ordered the B&R Special (two eggs, buttered toast, bacon, and three miniature pancakes), while a fourth got the blueberry pancake stack. Given our experience, there are no wrong choices here! The toast was good, the bacon crispy, eggs were light and flavorful, and the pancakes (and maple syrup) fluffy and exquisite. read more
This was one of the best meals I had while in Amsterdam. It's a very cute Australian cafe in an awesome location (I'm from New York and it very much reminded me of Brooklyn). They had a great menu and we had a big spread with eggs, toasts and more. As other reviews have mentioned we did have to wait a bit to be seated so I would recommend arriving on the earlier side and be prepared for this. I will definitely return here next time I am in Amsterdam. read more
