Food was delicious and its a dog friendly place so that was a plus. You have the option to sit inside or outside so depending on the weather you can decide. The filter coffee was the beat i had in Amsterdam but i am American so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Pancakes had the right amount of syrup and fruit. Id def comeback here but hopefully by then i have a furry companion to come with!
Had a terrific experience at Bakers & Roasters. They nailed the whole meal, and we couldn't have been more happy! The chai latte was delicious. I have a hard time finding one I really love, but this chai was perfect. Both our meals were fantastic! I got the verge brekkie, which included eggs, cheese, avocado, potatoes, mushrooms, toast and jam. I didn't miss the meat! The mushrooms were in an amazing creamy sauce that I could have drank! The homemade spicy jam was tasty too. Mr B loved his B&R special, which was a traditional breakfast. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and efficient. It's a nice atmosphere inside, but very busy. Be prepared for a wait. We signed up outside, only to see others get in before us that has arrived after us. Frustrating, but we figured out the online system. Recommend Bakers and Roasters!
Very nice breakfast/brunch spot. We got the Dutch and vege breakfast plates for lunch on a rainy day. We had about a 15 minute wait on a weekday afternoon for lunch, guessing this place gets reallly popular over the weekends. It was close to the museums and the Heineken experience, so we made a pit stop here for lunch. The food was great, clean and fresh! Since they were so busy, it took forever to get the food. So if you are trying to keep an appointment, think twice.
Phew finally some good protein! As a visitor from the US one can only have but so much bread so we went on the hunt for eggs and this place did not disappoint. It's pretty small inside and there was a waitlist to get on when we showed up. Since we were a party of two the time went by fast. They had great coffee options as well as a few cocktails. My friend had an espresso martini and I had a cappuccino. My friend had pancakes meal with eggs and sourdough. The pancakes looked amazing . They were the fluffiest pancakes I've ever seen. His food was amazing. I had a the power breakfast with chicken, black beans, egg whites, cottage cheese, and brown rice. I added some avocado. The meal held me over for the remainder of the day. They had so many things on the menu I wanted to try including their desserts. Definitely a place I would return to.
Very nice on first impression! Greeted and seated in less than 2 minutes. This is a nice breakfast/brunch spot for two. The seating inside is really tight yet it still didn't feel overcrowded or too noisy. There were some good selections on the menu but I decided on the French toast with a side of scrambled eggs. The French toast was amazing! Good enough that I'll likely go back before leaving Amsterdam. There were a few different servers in rotation and they checked in often. There were no delays in service at all. I did have an espresso martini which paired very well with my meal.
Really solid brunch place in a convenient part of town. Portions were generous, but nothing felt too heavy; every component of our dishes felt fresh and healthful. I'm not vegetarian but the veggie brekkie sounded delicious, and it was! Staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was both calm but energizing; it was a great way to start the day.
Amsterdam, May 2023, early lunch for 2. Cute, little place near museums part of the city. Very popular, dont take reservations. There is an online waiting list you can add your name on and wait outside to be called in. We waited 40 min. Very friendly service. Food is ok. I got salmon with eggs Benedict on a gluten free toast. Toast slices were very thick, with very modest, almost unnoticeable layer of butter and very thin salmon, paired with very little sauce on the eggs, made the sandwich very very dry, unbalanced in taste and not enjoyable. My partner had bbq pork bowl with a total opposite - pork meat was lost in the sea of way too sweet sauce. Overall, i don't get it what the whole hope is about. Perhaps we ordered wrong dishes. Definitely was not worth the wait
Food: 5 The menu merges brazilian, kiwi, and dutch food for a super cozy brunch with a great balance of flavors. Service & Ambiance: 5 Everything from the service to the cozy music and seating left me wishing I could take this place home with me. I went on a holiday and seating was tight, but service was still exceptional.
Bakers & Roasters was so good, we went two days in a row! The portions are huge so my fiance and I shared a meal both times. For food, we had the Huevos Rancheros the first day (really good but more like a tostada) with the breakkie potatoes. We tried the Navajo Eggs the second day with sausage and their breakkie potatoes. This was our favorite meal. Everything was delicious and fresh. Their fresh sour cream is so good! For drinks, we tried their mimosas, margaritas, and White Russian. All were consistently good on both days. The White Russian was my favorite - they added caramel/toffee pieces on top which were so good! They get pretty busy, so arriving early is recommended. The service was fantastic - everyone was very friendly and the food/drinks all came out quickly. We sat on the patio both times to enjoy the nice weather. They were super dog-friendly, too! We will definitely be back! Meals, drinks, and the outside patio area are pictured below.
Stunning food - that's all that needs to be said. Outside of the complicated waitlist system (refreshing in the hopes the waitlist opens so that you can quickly type in your name), the rest is absolutely wonderful. I had the Eggs Royale and Pancakes and they were both so good. The smoked salmon is so flavorful.
This is a hugely popular place that has a bit of a wait but was totally worth it! The food is delicious and plated perfectly. I didn't have the pancakes but they looked spectacular. My stack of House hash browns and poached eggs with salmon was tasty and creative! Look at the way my son's sandwich showed up (see photo). Old school paper/string wrap. Very cool. They had a nice DIY mimosa too. Fresh OJ all the way and your own mini-split of bubbly! The staff was great. If you're looking for breakfast, brunch, or lunch you can't go wrong. read more
Delicious!! In total agreement with the average ratings for Bakers and Roasters! Came during brunch hours and our estimated wait time was 45 minutes which is a lot but there's also a lot to do around the area so it wasn't too bad at all. We were seated in a more quiet area in the back which I was happy about because the place was very busy and chaotic and packed with people. I ordered the eggs benedict with avocado and a side of potatoes while my Mom got the cobb salad. Food came out in big hearty portions and was delicious. My eggs benedicts were cooked perfectly and more than enough to fill me. My Mom's salad was filled with delicious toppings and they were very generous with ingredients. They had the cutest little ketchup dispenser and I was just extremely content with my whole meal. Great brunch spot for all and would absolutely go back! read more
Insanely legit brunch spot with an awesome menu of items that'll leave you satisfied in every sense of the word. Found this spot on Yelp, looking for a great place to have brunch and was also pleasantly surprised to see that they also served matcha green tea here. Awesome! Ambience is lively and casual, tucked away in a smaller street just off Leidseplein. Highly recommended! read more

Great brunch restaurant. I love the New Zealand Kiwi menu items. Their kiwi mascot has a bowtie, super cute!! It was pretty busy for a Wednesday morning. The restaurant is bright with lots of natural lighting. Every Instagrammers dream, lol. Staff is very attentive and quick to bring out food and drinks. Lots of choices on the menu from standard eggs & bacon, fancy pancakes, acai bowls, sandwiches, cakes, and more. Vegetarian friendly too. I got the Kiwi Brekkie (I miss NZ!). Homemade tomato relish, perfectly cooked eggs, and big pieces of toast. The fiancé got eggs royale. Very generous portion of smoked salmon. We also ordered a short stack of pancakes. They drowned it in too much syrup, but otherwise pancakes are fluffy and very good. Prices aren't cheap, but overall for the atmosphere, service, and food quality; we had a good experience. Would recommend! Next time I will have to save room for dessert. They had so many muffins and cakes on display..! read more

Bakers and roasters log T+15 minutes since I was seated at a stool at the counter. Time works differently here. The 5 minutes wait outside was actually 15 minutes according to my instruments. I have now been on my stool for 17 minutes and it seems like some kind of phase shift is going on that makes me appear invisible to the people working here. I can see them and the food looks and smells wonderful. If only I could find a way to break through so they can see me. I have looked at the menu online and I have chosen my meal. I will continue to keep this log until I am successful or I expire. T+24 minutes. I've had a breakthrough! For just a moment the barista came near enough to me so I could ask for coffee and a menu. Suddenly, I was no longer invisible. The hostess arm hugged me and confirmed that I am real not only in my own world but this one as well. Filling. Enough to almost share. I chose the special. Pricey but so filling you can easily skip lunch with no regrets. I asked for my eggs scrambled hard and they were perfect. Don't ignore the drink menu. Turmeric Apple ginger juice and orange juice were both winners. Tables inside tight and cosy. Seemed to be more relaxed seating in the garden area towards the back. BEST. PANCAKES. EVER. This note worthy spot is located close to the Heineken factory, tucked on a cute little tree lined street. (Parking available out front, otherwise close walking distance from the metro) A memorable breakfast in Amsterdam, we waited a short time for a large group and were not disappointed ! The staff was extremely friendly and efficient - great music, bright and stylish decor and the FOOD!!! Oh goodness every last morsel was fantastic! Two in our group ordered the B&R that came with a side of their "American style pancakes" ...and let me tell you as an American they blow our pancakes out of the water ! Other note worthy items include; the huevos rancheros, the kiwi brekkie (an absolute savory breakfast and so surprisingly good!!) and of course the B&R! Just do yourself a favor and scope their instagram. I don't know that words could do them justice ! Absolutely recommend ! read more

I really like this neighborhood so the restuarant already had a leg up. There is a lot to do in the area and its a convenient walk to the museums. At the same time it feels very much like a lived in neighborhood devoid of tourist traps. As for the menu. It was imaginative and fresh. Plenty of veggie options. They give you good service but don't pester you. read more
WOW! Bakers & Roasters brunch is top notch! Their coffee and espresso drinks are wonderful and their breakfast dishes are delicious and filling. The fresh squeezed orange juice was also a treat. What we tried and enjoyed - a mocha, a flat white, the veggie brekkie, and the B&R special. Other pros - Friendly service and frequent water top offs. A+ experience! read more
My son was hungry was we needed a quick place where we can grab him some to go. Reviews on yelp for this place was glowing. When we got there, we had a positive vibe and understood how many people would love this place. It was quite busy but the staffs were nice. I ordered a short stack (3) pancakes which had raspberry along with blueberry and bananas topping. It came with two maple syrups. While the presentation was there, my son and I felt the pancakes themselves were quite heavy. I would've expected them to be more fluffier. But that was really the only con. I am sure if we ordered and dined in and tried other dishes, I would enjoy their food. But for today, my review is solely based on those pancakes. To their credit, we did hear from other tourists we met on an excursion that they loved the place. :) read more

Such beautiful dishes and flavor to match. If you ca be sure to make a reservation in advance because they are always on wait. Luckily, they can text you when your table is ready. We tried a bunch of different things: Carrot Cake - Cute with good flavor, but not super fresh. My slice was also a little too cold for me especially since I ate it with my Chia Latte. Chia Latte - Yay! They have oat milk. But this Latte was my least favorite item. Idk just didn't really have much flavor Huevos Rancheros - No complaints! The dish is exactly what you'd expect from a huevos rancheros Salad Sampler - it was nice to find some fresh veggies in Amsterdam, but I wouldn't reorder this. Comes with 3 different salad. Beet, potatoes, and tomato. Mushroom Toast was unique and tasty. Toasted bread topped with marinated mushrooms. read more
King of brunch!!! Salmon stack has the best of all breakfast combined into one! Filling thick hash stacked with gushing egg benedict and fresh smoked salmon. Mmmmmm, my ideal brrakfast. Plus, order a sausage on the side and your belly will be happy for hours~ Wash it all down with their fresh fruit/veggie drinks! Delicious with very subtle earthy taste! You can definitely tell the food is fresh and cooked on the spot with lots of produce boxes decorating the server station. Be prepare to wait, though we got lucky and only waited for 5 minutes. My boyfriend and I (luckily) stumbled upon this after passing up several mediocre-looking lunch spots. It was packed outside, so we knew it had to be good. We put our names down and were seated within 10 minutes. We were given (unlimited) water...you start to appreciate the little things that most places in Europe don't provide. I ordered an iced coffee (FINALLY a place in Amsterdam that does iced coffee, and well nonetheless). Everything on the menu looked good, but I decided on the Eggs Florentine (Garlicky spinach on chunky toast with 2 poached eggs and hollandaise). It was very hearty and filling. We also got a Nutella cake to go but unfortunately it wasn't anything special. It was more chocolate cake with hazelnuts in it, rather than Nutella. Bakers and Roasters would do VERY well in NYC. read more
OMG this place is incredibly cute. Yes, a restaurant can be cute. Bakers & Roasters is a New Zealand style cafe serving amazing food. I was doing some traveling around Amsterdam in November and B&R's bright and colorful space was the perfect escape from the cold and rainy weather. I came by myself and sat at the bar and ordered a Kiwi Brekkie and a ginger, turmeric, and apple juice to cure my hangover (I think it worked). The food here is gorgeous and very filling. I loved everything about the Kiwi Brekkie except the homemade tomato relish which I wish was a bit sweeter like a jam. If I'm ever back in Amsterdam, I definitely want to come back and order some of their other dishes. read more

Great breakfast spot that offers a unique menu. We came in early and had no trouble getting a table. I ordered the banana nut bread french toast which was super filling. We also ordered a side of poached eggs and toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the toast was HUGE. Plenty of bread to soak up that runny yolk. The service was friendly and they did a great job throughout. I'd definitely come back to try a few different things on the menu. read more

My friends and I decided to grab brunch at Bakers & Roasters before our visit to the Rijksmuseum. The first thing I noticed that instantly drew me to B&R is how nice the servers are! They would even checkup on us as we stood outside waiting in line. I've gotten a bit used to the rather impersonal but polite service in the city and was missing the warm and friendly service I am used to. I ordered the polenta w spinach and mushroom w a side of spicy chorizo and an iced americano to drink. The polenta was delicious and lightly flavored and the chorizo adds a kick to the dish. The iced americano was not bitter and easy to drink. The pretty flower centerpiece was a plus! Will come back next time I am in the city! read more

This is a great place for breakfast or brunch if you're in the area. It's a cute little restaurant with a fun New Zealand theme going on. Everything on the menu looked delicious, including all the baked goods they had displayed. I went with the kimchi fried rice and it did not disappoint. I appreciated the unique dishes on the menu and this one had great flavors to it. The prices are a little expensive and the place is busy, but you do get great quality food so to me it's worth the wait. read more

One of the best brunch spots in Amsterdam!! We have only been in Amsterdam 4 days so far and we've already gone to Bakers & Roasters twice. Everything we've had so far has been delicious. The pancakes are so tasty and fluffy - they are to die for. The scrambled eggs and bacon were perfectly cooked and the coffee is delicious. And to my surprise, they had a really nice selection of cakes inside. As we were sitting at our table, I saw that they had one of my favorite cakes - Hummingbird Cake (which is similar to carrot cake except they typically use pineapple and banana in instead). I was so full from the meal I had to get the cake to go. And I was so glad I did. It was delicious!!! The staff was also very friendly and even though it is typically very busy, they do a great job of serving you quickly. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a brunch spot in Amsterdam!!! read more

Wow! This place is super busy it seems all the time! Some how though we arrived at just the right time to be seated right away. The ambiance is fun and inviting with all of the bright and neon colors. There are plants sprinkled throughout to give it a very light feeling. The food in itself looks like a work of art! The Vega meal was my absolute favorite! I added smoked salmon and it was perfect together! Definitely going to come back here and try something else because it took a very long time to just pick one :) My co worker got the original benny and it didn't last long on the plate either!! - Forever Foodie- Ela read more

Very very very popular place. There will be some waiting time, but the take your number at the door and you get a notification on sms once your table is ready plus, you can see online how long itll probably take. Food is great, staff is even greater. read more
