What can I say about Baker's pride? What can't I say, is the question! They have fantastic donuts, desserts, cakes, fritters, cookies, pies and other delectable goodies. I try to come here a few times a week. Oftentimes I'm going by and I don't have a plan to come over, but the 'open' sign is lit, so I know that delectable goodness is only a few seconds away. My favorite product must be their chocolate covered donuts, which are two to three times larger than their competitors and are smothered in house made chocolate coating. My secod favorite item must be their fritters. The smalls are large and the large fritters are HUGE! They make their product fresh from scratch and their consistency is awesome. The employee's know me by name and treat everyone like an individual. I've never had any issues with Baker's Pride and I'll continue to enjoy their delectable desserts as long as they remain open and as long as I live in Savannah! If you're in town or even from Savannah and haven't tried Baker's Pride, I'd highly recommend it. You'll probably become and addict like myself! read more

Love this place! Jamaican Me Crazy coffee and blueberry fritters are AMAZING! Staff are nearly as sweet as the baked goods they sell. We have been eating their doughnuts for many years now... the regular glazed doughnuts are by far the way to go... If you work in Savannah and you are asked to bring doughnuts to work... make sure you get them from here... you will be an instant hit... they are big and full of flavor... and they hold good with time... meaning you can still eat it in the afternoon and still tastes good... We contacted Baker's Pride based on their reviews compared to other bakeries in Savannah. My daughter just turned 18 after starting school in Savannah and we are on the opposite coast and needed to ensure she had a birthday cake. They were so easy to work with, and the pictures of it were so impressive!My daughter and her friends raved about how much they enjoyed the cake. Prices were reasonable for a professionally baked and decorated cake - will definitely reach out to them again. Even without this last part, they earned 5 stars, but here's where they really impressed me. My daughter got the cake Friday morning, but at 6:17pm she asks me about possible nut allergies with one of her friends. Baker's Pride closed at 6:00 and it was a Friday night, but I called and figured they could return my call Saturday morning. They were still there and picked up as I was leaving my message to answer my concern and clarify on the allergy risk. That's impressive customer service and follow-up, and it was greatly appreciated. It took me living in Savannah almost a year before I checked out Baker's Pride. I drove by hundreds of times, but for some reason I thought it was for restaurants only. Boy, was I missing out. This is one of the best bakeries I've ever been to. The selection, quality and flavor are on point every time. I was excited to buy donuts for National Donut Day and ordered them in advance for pickup. When I arrived it was busy and I was helped by a nice man. I ordered 3 different orders but they were all placed in one box. I asked the employee for 3 separate boxes to divide for clients. Bree came up to him asking what he was doing. He explained and then asked her if it was already paid for. That's when things went downhill!!!! She berated him in front of everyone, raising her voice and flapping the pink slip in his face. Sternly told him that he has been here too long and should know this. A customer then told her to "let it go" and she was still nasty. The customer then said to "smile" and winked at me. EVERYONE knew what was going on and felt uncomfortable!!! Another customer asked to speak to a manager regarding this interaction and a young employee quietly replied that he would have to speak with Bree to then get to the manager. I was appalled by her behavior and apologized to the nice man helping me. I then had to go and divide the donuts in my car. Nobody deserves to be treated by anyone the way she treated him in front of a many customers and families. The donuts were amazing and enjoyed by all. They are always delicious. An outstanding bakery just east of the hospital. They have all your sweet tooth needs and more. The donuts are incredible, and words can't describe them. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! The pictures below are of my granddaughters who were denied service by one of bake's pride cashiers. I took my granddaughters to baker's pride for a special treat, but in return, we got a bad treat from this bakery. My granddaughters are bakers and I wanted them to see all varieties of donuts & cookies since we were passing by. We purchase 3 items from cashier (1), after my grandchildren struggled to swallow the cookie and doughnut, I went back to the counter to pay for their drinks. I stood there & watch the cashier (2) continuously talk to a customer and she would not wait on us since cashier (1) was on the phone taking a cake order. After several minutes passed, cashier (1) ended up checking us out. She accidentally rung up our drink order with the cake order she just took. She was probably a new employee and had to get assistance from the back since cashier (2) was still having her personal conversation with a customer. I told cashier (1) & the lady who came from the back that we were standing here several minutes and that cashier (2) would not check us out, but there was no response. I posted a message on baker's pride website, but they went form saying unacceptable to making up excuses for their cashier not helping us. I suggested that they look at their security camera to see just what happened. I was told by many people who called me after reading my Facebook post that this is a family owned business and they JUST DON'T CARE. I must admit that they treated us like they did not need our money and now we don't need their products. I can say that we will never set foot in this bakery again. My grandchildren don't see people as black or white; they just see people just like I do. baker's pride experience was just a reminder of how backward we are going on treating our customers right. I had to explain to them why their drink order took so long & why cashier (2) did not want to help us. I have bought their doughnuts for the group @ work twice now, and both times, I got excellent feedback. For the south, where everything is fried, that means a lot!! They are not gourmet, or anything, but slightly crispy on the outside, a nice coating of glaze, very fresh dough and great tasting frostings and fillings. The staff is super friendly, especially for having to be there @ 5:30am. Like the previous reviewer said, one doughnut is almost equivalent to 2 ordinary doughnuts, so don't let your eyes or your nose trick you into buying too many for one sitting. read more

Sorry but the store was warm inside and it effects the product. An old fashion donut should be crisp on the outside and soft inside irregardless of the glaze. The pecan danish tuff and stale. I remember growing up and going to bakeries getting things like donuts that are freshly made. But more common than not are chains taking the place of all these local establishments. Bakers Pride is like the places I remember. The have a wide variety of baked goodies. Bakers Pride carries gingerbread men, cream horns, raisin bars, a bunch of fruit fritters, Danishes, and the rarely seen elephant ear! I think in a true nod to "old school" they sell cake trimmings, for a lil over $2.00! I had a caramel donut, and a cake donut. The caramel donut was head and shoulders above most places, it was what dreams and work outs are made of! The cake donut was okay, it would've been great if it had that mace flavor of a plain cake donut. The pit fall for me on the cake donut, was it was lemon flavored. I don't know if this was a mistake or their usual deal, but if I had known it was lemon I would have been prepared... I was not and so it was a bit of a let down. I have had the apple fritter prior to this trip, and found it too cakey, and not enough knobby, apple cobble texture. I do see how so reviewers are saying it's too sweet. But, by the same token we are talking about donuts. It might just be me but, more apple would help greatly. The chocolate chewy, is sure to please! This is so far the best bakery I've come across in Savannah! They have a huge selection of cakes, doughnuts, cookies... pretty much anything you could want. Their prices are also very cheap which makes it pretty hard not to come in there and leave with only one thing. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and the place is clean and inviting. One thing I especially like is that their baked goods are consistent, so you can go there at any point on any day and know they'll have your favorite thing. This place is excellent! I first had their donuts because I work at the hospital next door and patients will frequently brings them in as a "thank you" gift. There is something so deliciously simply wonderful about the glazed donuts from BP! They are fresh, doughy, and not too sweet. There is no where else around that makes fresh donuts like this! They also have a variety of frosted and topped donuts with caramel, maple, chocolate, pecans, Etc. They also have an awesome Boston creme donut. everything about Bakers Pride exceeded my expectations! I was looking for a local bakery that had delicious cake at a good price. Not only was my cake delicious and moist but the pricing is great compared to other cake shops. They also give you a gift card for a free 8 inch round cake on your anniversary so you can serve your top tier to your guest and save more money that way. They also don't try to charge you extra for detailed piping work or different flavors at the different tiers. When we came in for a tasting we didn't have to pay a deposit or fee, the cake tastings are free. If you decide to go with them you just pay a 50 dollar deposit after the cake tasting. You get to try 12 different cup cakes and keep the ones you don't eat. Every cupcake was delicious! The icing wasn't too sweet and the flavors of the cake were noticeable but not overwhelming. We could tell that they really take pride I their product. The person we had at our cake tasting wwas very passionate about the product they produce. We had a three tier cake and the medium sized sheet cake for the grooms cake. They are really good at not overselling and talked us into a smaller cake and we still had some cake left over. I can't wait to come back for our anniversary cake and I'm already planning on coming in for some delicious goodies inbetween. read more

Really too sweet for my taste. Every donut was dunked in Krispy Kreme style icing twice over. I just prefer my pastries to be a little more natural tasting - it's six hours later and my stomach still hurts from one donut.
