Our backyard borders Calloway Drive which is incredibly noisy. Bakersfield Glass solved this problem by advising us to replace our window with dual-pane laminated near soundproof glass. We took their advice and replace all of the window and wow! What a difference. These windows look amazing and we got probably around 90% reduction of outside noise. I'm giving one star because the guys that came to "repair" were genuinely kind. I would definitely not recommend this place. They came out to fix one broken window and as they were doing so they broke my other window next to it. They glued it back together and called it a day then I checked to see if my window would slide open like before and of course it didn't their measurements were wrong. Then they take off the window holders, broke one or two of those and guess what glued them back together and called it a day again then I called to see if I could get some sort of discount or anything for how much more damage they did and the owner said no that almost 600 dollars was cheap. They are terrible!!! I'm very unsatisfied and would never recommend this place. read more

Completely unprofessional. Would not recommend. The actual owner took the job, took over 2 weeks to respond to me attempting to contact him about ordering parts. Then avoiding contacting me in return to give any updates and confirm a date for the actual job or returning messages for an additional 3 weeks. I finally had to call the business, leave a message with his secretary, informing him that his unprofessionalism and business would not be needed. When asked if she'd like him to call me back, I told her it wasn't necessary. Besides, he's had my number for nearly 6 weeks. If he wanted to act like a competent business owner he can: act like it, man up and be responsible. read more

Bakersfield glass has to have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I had to request so many times for a quote weeks after they came and took measurements of my 2 1/2 car garage window and took my shower door to replace the glass. I sent emails and called so many times with no actual answer. The only reason why I even stayed with them is because the price seemed good to me. I used their services about 10 years ago and they were quick and responsive. This is definitely not the case now. The people on the phone seem annoyed that you even called to ask for service. Out of multiple calls, they only answered the phone 1 time saying, "Bakersfield Glass." The other times I wasn't even sure if I was calling a business or not. The window they replaced on the garage doesn't match the window tint color of the rest of the house. Very annoying to wait 2 months and get such horrible service. I do not recommend Bakersfield Glass at all, and next I'd rather pay more than deal with them ever again. read more

This by far was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The following is why: I place my order on Monday they said everything was good and my price quote was 55 before tax, but Paul said they don't have anybody in today, but they could get my simple glass cutting done Tuesday. Tuesday I don't hear anything so I give them a call and they said again "We don't have anybody to cut it today, but I will give you a call Wednesday." No call Wednesday so I wait until Thursday to call only for the owner Mike to tell me on the phone the order was NEVER EVEN PLACED by Paul! Apparently they can't convert decimals into my fractions so then my measurements weren't good enough so I emailed Mike pictures of my item I needed glass for with the tape measure showing the exact measurements in fractions. I was then informed that I was being quoted 83 dollars or so before tax and that I could not pick it up till Monday of next week. I complained about how that was almost double what I was originally quoted and how that was unfair to me as a customer. In my email I proceeded to ask if my original price quote could be honored yet I never got an email back. Friday in the afternoon I then receive a call from the company with Paul informing me that my order is ready for pick up with the price still being at 83 and refusing to honor the original price I was quoted I said fine I will get off work early so I can be there before you close. I get to their location at 3:30 leaving my job early just to find out that they CLOSED EARLY! To conclude, this is not a professional and honest company you should go to and I am so disappointed with the way I was treated. If I could give zero stars, I would. Let me list the reasons why: 1. Scheduled to come out for a quote on a Friday to fix balances on one window, replace another window, and replace a pane on a third window--first showed up unexpectedly on Wednesday and I sent them away to come when scheduled on Friday. 2. An older guy and a younger guy being trained come back on Friday. I show them the window with the broken balances. Older guy tells me he might have them in his truck and walks out. Younger guy wants to go get measurements on the other two windows in the meantime. 3. Ten minutes later, measurements are all done and older guy comes up to me and tells me he replaced the balances (no permission, no estimate). 4. Took over a month for the quote and bill for the balances. Balances are a $20 part and they charged me $262!! 5. Called the company and spoke with the owner. He tells me it is so much because I had them come out twice (Nope--first visit was on them) and they had to charge $95 an hour plus a 3% fuel charge each visit. He refused to drop my bill any more than $90, so I still owed $172. I sure hope charging me so much for unauthorized work is worth it to you, Mike. And no, you are not getting the job for the other two windows. read more

Extremely helpful and accommodating. This business went the extra mile to find me window balancers for my 25 year old windows. I had called every glass shop in Visalia, Reedley, Tulare, Clovis, and Fresno to no avail. A competitor in Bakersfield wanted to charge me $150 for an item that costs between $7-17 each knowing how desperate I was. Shame on them. Bakersfield Glass & Window sympathized with me . They gave me a fair price of $15, gave me an extra part that I may also need, and showed me how to take the balancers of my window and how to replace them. Avoid this company by all means. Bakersfield Glass was doing work over in San Luis Obispo county under the name of Window People. They replaced numerous window panes in my existing vinyl window frames on 12/28/21. Unfortunately, on of these large picture frame windows the seals failed and the window fogged up after about 6 months. I finally notified them via telephone on 12/22/22 and spoke to "Mike" their manager several times on 12/22 and he said he had to look the order up and would get back to me. After not hearing anything for two months, I again called them on 2/20/23 and they informed me that would handle the repair. After not hearing anything again, I called them on 4/19/23 and spoke to both Mike and Sonya and was informed they closed that business and now since it was over a year they would not stand by their warranty. Very shady business, do not do business with them they do not stand behind their products or work. read more

Horrible customer service given by the younger Hispanic guy who assist with the window repairs!

Had a 9:00 am appointment to have them remove a 42" x 96" mirror in the master bathroom. They called at 9:00 am on the morning they were scheduled to tell me they could not make it. I rescheduled to have them come out four days later at 9:00 am. They called at 8:00 am on that morning to tell me they could not make it again. On both occasions my wife and I had made particular arrangements to make sure we were home to accommodate their schedule. They are not a reliable company. BUYER BEWARE!!! These guys are really bad! Poor service, poor quality and just plain rude in every encounter. Owner Mike always has an 'attitude', but then most of his staff does too. sales rep came out two weeks ago to measure a shower door and glass wall. called on Monday sales rep, Mike states that his fax was not received for estimate. called again yesterday and was told the estimate was in that it would be emailed to me in 5 minutes. have not received it. will not continue to peruse them for our business as it seems that they don't need/want it. read more
