Stopped by Bakery Bites on our way to rafting in Lotus, CA, and it turned out to be a great pit stop for a quick Indian snack. If you visit during brunch hours, definitely check out their brunch buffet, which seems to be a popular choice. The spread includes a variety of items like sandwiches, dosa, sambar, desserts, chai, and more. I especially enjoyed the vada pav, super flavorful and authentic and their paneer sandwich was also worth trying, served with a side of fries. They have also got good chaat options and savory bakery items if you're in the mood for something lighter. I have always loved ordering birthday cakes from them and had a good experience. Recently i ordered some snacks with tea along with the cake and had such a bad experience. They charged me the dining price ($3) for tea for 30 adults which is unreasonable. They didnt even communicate the pricing for tea prior to the booking correctly. It was pretty crowded on Saturday around 9pm and there weren't many tables available. We ordered two bhel puri and one vada pav to go - the food was ready within 15-20 minutes. Bhel Puri (2/5): This was pretty dry and not very flavorful. Would have been better if chutneys were included on the side. The food was no longer crunchy as well so this dish might be better if dining at the restaurant Vada Pav (4/5): Good portion size! I appreciated how one order includes two vada pav. Staff is very rude. I was ordering and the guy who took my order kept rushing me and had an attitude so I only ordered half of what I was going to order. There was an issue with my order and I told them. No sorry. No resolution. Just an "oh well" that's not my issue attitude. Silence. My family and I pulled into this parking and walked by looking for a place to eat. Yelp recommended this place as good for vegetarians. Service is good. Seating is functional and efficient, not fancy. The interiors are functional as well. The menu is vast, the food served is quick, tasty/delicious and good. The dosa with dry powder is good. This is an interesting place, small but serving quite a variety of bakery and Indian things to what appeared to be an appreciative bunch of customers. They could clearly use more space. We were there for dessert yesterday and loved the variety of cake offerings, especially the chocolate and also got a box of really good buttery cookies with cherry centers and saw bags of light rolls and other baked goods that look great, and a giant popover that went by while we were there. They would probably do better if they substantially reduce the size of the menu and focus on freshness. Although it says Bakery, they offers great Indian chaat & other vegan foods. It's been more than 3 times we came to this location as it is near the cinemark where we go to. We always had the Pani Poori / Dahi Poori. But this times we went there for more meals. So we also tried the Samosa Chaat, Gobi Manchurian, and their new fried rice menu. All the food has strong flavors in a good way. Although it's not a real restaurant with waitresses, it's more a self service place but It has many tables for dine in.
