This small and inconspicuous warehouse factory makes the best baklava I've ever had -- so much so that it ruined other baklavas for me. I can tell that so much love, thought, and care goes into making them; the delicate layers of each piece are fresh, perfectly balanced, and not cloyingly sweet. The owners here are so sweet and they always provide a free piece with my order. They sell their baklavas in boxes only, but you get to choose from 3 different sizes. You also get to choose from different flavors (pistachio, walnut, chocolate walnut, cinnamon walnut, almond-pecan, hazelnut) and sizes (they have triangular pieces and rolled pieces), but honestly I would recommend getting all of the flavors because they are all fantastic! Hidden little gem! Delicious, fresh, homemade baklava and a good price. You wouldn't know this place exists unless you searched desserts in the area. It's tucked away in the back part of a building, located in an industrial business area. I walked by and thought this place was closed due to there being no sign of human life around and empty parking stalls. The only advertising was the small sign on the door, so I parked and pulled on the door handle. To my surprise, the door opened and there was a beautiful smell of baklava emitting from the building. I was greeted by the owner and welcomed inside. They were in fact open and I was glad I didn't drive off. They sell boxes of baklava (10pc, 16pc, 32pc) and offer a variety of pieces (Hazelnut, pistachio, almond pecan, chocolate, and walnut). They do not sell individual pieces, but that's okay, because who just eats one piece. My favorite was the walnut triangle. Wow, the flavors popped out and I enjoyed every bite. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect because I hadn't been here before, but I'm shipping out a care package for my grandma tomorrow who lives out of the state and wanted to include some baklava. I decided to just walk-in and was immediately greeted by the owners (aka. the sweetest people). I had a few questions about shipping, refrigerating and freshness because I wanted to make sure it'd be good for my grandma to eat with a couple days of transit. I had these baklavas before a few years ago when I visited my sister in San Diego, she had them at her place and offered me some. I literally couldn't stop eating them because they were so good, I remember literally eating ALL of them, every single one she had within a week (like 2 whole boxes.) My family and I are middle eastern so we eat baklavas quite often. Every time I had a baklava from different places after that visit to my sisters, I was like "eh, this just doesn't compare to the one I had from Baklava King." Best baklava in town hands down. A coworker of mine brought some to work once and we were blown away. So this last time, we sought out to pick some up ourselves. We picked up from their headquarters in Santee. It's in an industrial area but once you find it, there's ample parking up front. All of their baklava is amazing but some of my favorites are pistachio, hazelnut, and almond pecan. Flavors are conveniently labeled on the side of the box once opened. Check in on Facebook for a free Revani sample! Not only did we get a sample of Revani, but the lady sent us off with 4 additional baklava rolls to "enjoy on the way." What a generous surprise! Absolute enjoyed every last morsel. The phyllo, honey, and individual nut flavors work so well together without being too overwhelmingly sweet. He took my order and although there were some snafu's with forgetting to call me back, they were able to accommodate the pick up Saturday AM. I got several half boxes mixed to give out for holiday gifts. They baklava was fresh and well received. Very tasty and one of the freshest I've ever had. Definitely would come back again and it makes a great gift/ treat for folks. Wish they opened more kitchens. But worth the drive from North County to East County Santee for the treat! No Store front. This place has some of the best pistachio baklava. My husband has ordered from them twice. They were shipped from Santee to Tampa. It consistently arrives in perfect condition every time. The baklava is fresh, and oh so good. Yes, we could go to the sponge docks where they make them fresh daily. We just prefer Baklava King because they don't use simple syrup. It's all sweetened with pure cane sugar. I honestly don't have one negative thing to say. It's moist, yet flakey and delicious. They top it with crushed green pistachios. What more can I say?
