BEST MASSAGES EVER! I've been coming here for a few years already and well, I always love it. It was recommended to me by a friend and wow! I can't thank her enough. I can't believe I hadn't reviewed it though. I've had several different people massage me so I've had different experiences. I have learned that I do not like hard massages lol! I like them medium with some pressure. I have only received back massages. I really really need one now, so badly. I haven't gone since this whole pandemic but I want to know first hand how they're avoiding any kind of exposure. Especially when thinking about putting my face in the little table holes. I can read they've updated their Yelp page but of course I am still adamant. All I know is I love the people here, their massage rooms are so serene and the quality of work they do is great. 3.5 stars. Make an appointment. We tried to walk in and couldn't be seen for a couple hours later. Can't beat the price. $62 + tip for a one hour couples massage. Back + neck + shoulder massage were all fantastic. Foot massage was not great. They put on gloves, barely do any pressure, and it's just overall lacking. My first time here was pretty good. I called ahead of time and right when I got there I was good to go. I got the $15 foot massage. Not bad. I wish she had went a little harder but that's ok. The reason why it got 4 stars is because there's a light funky smell to it and in the foot massage place it's a room full of 12 beds. One guy was snoring which was pretty funny. Their massage technique and routine are consistent and they seem to have managed to convince their therapists to apply more pressure (a far cry from my first visit when it felt like a sock puppet massage, lol)! ***SPOILER ALERT*** Your derrière will be subject to some rigorous manhandling! It's a fairly simple process: - Make reservation - Park in rear (leads to Reception Counter...don't enter from Washington Blvd) - Pay the cashier fee for desired service(s) - Follow to massaging area or private massage room (don't worry, no happy endings here!) - Take off shoes, sweaters, and remove items from pocket, placing in plastic bin - Soak feet in tub and lie on massage bed (don't be afraid to ask from firmer or softer pressure) - Wait an hour - Tip your therapist $20 Hour Foot Massage + $20 Tip = 1 Happy Customer I generally tip well because at many of these establishments, therapist work for tips alone. UPDATE: So after my previous experience, I received an email from the owner/manager of In Step Massage stating that myself and my friend were entitled to a free massage due to our terrible experience. So last night, I go into In Step Massage and I make mention of the owner/manager and the same receptionist who was extremely unprofessional last time, said that there was never a person that worked there with that particular name. At this point, I am extremely frustrated and I warn people, DO NOT GO HERE. They have great massages, but the experience is TERRIBLE. I had a very good massage here, but also had a terrible experience with their customer service. I went to pay for a massage for someone else there and when paying for it, I tipped $6 which is a 15% tip. Very standard. The lady had the nerve to tell me that they usually ask for a $10 tip. I told her that $6 was all I was giving. When the person that I sent there finished her massage, they lied to her and told her that I didn't tip AT ALL and asked her for a $10 tip. I am on the fence on how to write this review because a part of me loves it and the other part of me can't help but think of the movie Taken with their little "rooms." It's a terrible comparison because they are super clean and they look nothing like the movie, but I don't know...I feel like I am going to get prostituted once that little curtain closes. Anyways, all bad comparisons aside, this place is pretty legit. Word of caution, if you are body shy, spare yourself and don't opt for a back massage. I can't speak for everyone but my pants have been pulled half way down my ass every single time I've been here. I should have freaked out of having my bare ass exposed but I feel more sorry for the lady massaging me for having to see it. They also climb on top of you...yea.... Carry on. I usually get the $30 option which is 30 minute foot massage and 30 minute back. When asked if you want medium or hard say LIGHT because it get's intense. They also give you this awesome scalp massage before your foot massage that is bomb dot com. They soak your feet like they would for a pedicure and they massage your legs. For someone that wears heels 99.9% of the time, it doesn't get better. For the back massage, they bring you into those little rooms and they use hot stones as well. All embarrassing stuff aside, it is pretty relaxing, the first time I came I literally sat in my car all stupid after. Every time I've been here the ladies have been friendly and have taken their time. I usually call ahead so going in is breezy. I've never actually been here on a busy time so I've never had to be in a room full of people. Tops, there has been one other person in the room and this last time my sister was there with me. Ken who was my masseuse was pretty good, stones were so nice, however I wish my knots were worked out more in the areas I wanted specifically worked on. Nice, clean, affordable, and quick. Hit or miss kind of place. You get what you pay for. I've had really good massages here and awful ones. They have a hot stone massage that's pretty soothing, given the therapist knows what they're doing. You also get $20 off if you use their rewards card and buy 10 massages. They also provide cold water or hot tea after your massage. Today I opted for an hour foot reflexology massage. I asked my massage therapist not to smack me (a lot of places give you good pats that feel more like slaps) and she forgot halfway through and started slapping me. I pulled away and she did it again so I had to remove my eye cover and remind her. Her nails were not short and she kept scratching me even after I told her she was hurting me. She didn't use enough lotion or oil on my feet so I could feel the friction of the gloves against my skin and that kind of grossed me out. I come here often but this therapist massaged like maybe she didn't know what she was doing. Normally I would give this place about a 4 but with my experience today I have to give them only 2 stars. read more

My wife and I went to In Step Massage on a Friday morning. I had called the night before and made a reservation for the couple's room. We had the 1 hour full body massage with two Asian masseuses. The place is very well done. Has an Asian-Zen feel to it, with Buddhist music playing in the background. The rooms are very basic with heavy cloth drapes separating the rooms (no funny business here). There was very little communication with our masseuses. If you want something special or specific, you will have to the reaching out. Since my wife and I only get massages a couple of times of year, it's hard to rate massages. With that said, I felt the massage was great. The highlights for me, was she found a knot in my neck/shoulder area and really worked it out. And also when she massaged my face/sinus areas, it felt great. The cons of this place was it's on Washington Blvd and you can hear the sound from the street...remedy would be to bring a place of headphones. Also with two masseuses, they talked a little too much for my tranquility level...same remedy, headphones) I would certainly recommend this place and I would surely visit it again. read more

I thought I could be in china. The only negative it's that the lady left the room 4 times for 2 min. I looked @the clock. Then she was on my spine not on the muscle. I had to tell her. I may have just experienced the best massage I've ever had. I splurged $60 on a 90 minute full body massage because my neck, shoulders, and back were full of hard knots, knots-to-be, and so much lactic acid-protein build-up that my muscles crackled/crinkled whenever I moved. Lili occasionally asked if I found what she was doing was okay. She was very thorough and spent a lot of time warming up my muscles and working out the knots with the perfect amount of pressure (I think I purred when she kneaded my neck). The massage was divided by the shoulders/back/arms, hips/hamstrings/calves/ankles, face/head/neck, arms/chest area, and then the quads/shins/feet. She aligned my spine, increased the blood flow in my body, and found knots that I didn't even realize were there (awkwardly, in that place where my hips and glutes meet). If you want a physical therapy-esque kind of massage, I would definitely recommend a full-body massage with Lili. For anyone who's ever used a foam roller on their IT bands, you should know that crazy feeling of both pain and relief. I felt that same feeling when Lili worked my IT bands with her hands. I think my only gripes are the totally sketchy darkness of the parking lot in the back of the building where the entrance to In Step is actually located and how much you can hear in those massage rooms.
