I am so thankful they did. They have a lady there named the pie lady. She made some of the most delicious pies I've ever had in my entire life. I will be ordering all of my pies from BG's Farm Market. They were delicious caramel apple pie, pecan pie and pumpkin pie, and they were better than any family member has ever cooked. They were so easy to serve. They were perfect. Plus I was able to get a last-minute few items like fresh sausage, fresh yams, fresh carrots, honey they have it all there. It was very easy to order and once I picked up my pies, I was able to get a list of the pies that she makes. It is a huge list, and I can't wait to try every single one of them. they're very close to the Plumpton Park Zoo. They have a great farmers market. Everything is very very clean organized and the cashier was very knowledgeable and helpful. They have some of the best eggnog the best chocolate milk. Everything was so good. They have both indoor and outdoor seating options and a good variety of beers. We enjoyed food from Taco Bar while we were there; they seem to rotate different food trucks. They also had MacGerk's food truck so it was cool to have two different options and there are also snacks available for purchase at the bar. Staff here were very friendly. It was cool to see many people of all ages enjoying themselves on a beautiful day. There was a band while we were there and we enjoyed listening to them while we ate and drank our beers. I'd like to go back to see how their beer rotations change; they didn't have some of my favorite styles, but still was able to find one I liked! We typically would do their Christmas Train, and rarely got back to Lancaster in the warmer months. As soon as I planned my latest summer trip, I knew it had to be on the itinerary. This place has it all from gigantic slides to gold mining sluice areas to a mini kids village that mine couldn't get enough of from the mini vet office to the drive in theater. It was really impressive. From here, you can make your way up the hill where there is a restaurant, a coffee kiosk with a delicious coconut water cold brew (wild!), and plenty of shaded sections with swinging chairs. You'll find paintball, basketball, skee ball, a pedal cart for the family, launching devices. I mean, there is a lot! The place is large so it never felt overly crowded. Come with water bottles. Even with the shaded sections it gets hot. They have water fountains by the bathrooms.

Don't feel pressure to purchase the add ones (apple chucking and paintball) - those sections are towards the back of the farm and easily avoidable. They have several varieties of trees ranging from 8' to 2' tall. (Some even bigger) They have trees with the root ball attached that you can transplant to your own yard. But it's not just the great selection of trees, the gift shop, the snack bar and the more than reasonable prices, it's the warm, family atmosphere that we find so refreshing. The entire family and everyone that works there are so pleasant, friendly, and work very hard to make your holiday amazing. Every year we drive past 3 or 4 different tree farms to visit Chery Grove. And every year Brian greets us with a smile, asks how we've been, fills us in on the trees and we're off to find this seasons tree. They had tons of fun fall activities, an enormous corn maze with fun clues and a bridge, a hay bale climbing tower, a tricycle track, hay rides, bouncy rubber horses for kids to ride on, a giant pool table with soccer balls to be kicked into the corner pockets, and lots more. They also had a lovely market where they had tons of pumpkin varieties, mums of all colors, what seemed like 100 flavors of whoopie pies, cider, and tons more. Awesome day of fun for everyone!

Risser-Marvel Farmer Market's (RMFM) Fall Fun is probably my favorite pumpkin patch ever. I had…read moreplan to go to Cherry Crest Adventure Farm but for $20 a pop, I changed my mind. When I heard about RMFM, we took a drive to check it out on this beautiful weekend before Halloween. First off, when we arrived around 1 p.m., it was pretty empty. It picked up when we finally left around 3, but it still wasn't all that crowded compared to most places I've visited before. Second, their Robin Hood Maze and Barnyard Fun Area Activities is a good value in my opinion compared to others. Prices are 3 and under--free, ages 4-12--$7.00, and 13 and up--$9.50. Here's what you get: *Robin Hood Maze with activity book--there are stations throughout the maze to keep it fun and exciting. *Hayride *Trike Track--This might have been the favorite for my boys. The Pedal Karts were close behind but they had less bikes so you had to wait your turn if it was busy. *Pedal Karts *Rubber Ducky Races *Corn Hole *Campfire--not sure what the purpose of this is but it's still cool! Might be nice on a cool day but today was 70° so... *Corn Sandbox *Bouncy thingys--I don't know what they call them but the boys had a lot of fun fooling around. I think what impressed me the most was how unique all of these activities were. Even my 14-year-old son was having so much fun and my youngest son didn't want to leave. Before we left, we did buy a couple of pumpkins and some whoopie pies at the store. They have quite a variety of items. If you're looking for a quieter, less expensive place to take your kids to for the fall next season, then RMFM is it! You can thank me later.
