I can't believe that when you move from the area you lose your email service. They cut you off immediately and do not give you the option of using a FORWARDING EMAIL! I lost some of the emails I needed for a court case! When you call the service desk most of the people are very impersonal and do not commiserate regarding my problem. I do have to say that when I lived there most of my problems were handled nicely. It is unfortunate that baldwin lightstream is the only landline service available. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Baldwin Lightstream. Their customer service is impeccable. After dealing with years of nonsense from Comcast over in the Twin Cities, and seeing the circle of doom (you all know what I'm talking about, buffering). Never did I ever get the speed I was paying for with Comcast. I bought a new build here in Baldwin. April at Baldwin Lightstream was incredibly helpful with making sure I got everything set up to have internet pretty close to when I moved in. Now they've dropped Fiber in, and can't wait to get that connected. Is Baldwin Lightstream your only option? Nope. Is Baldwin LightStream your only good high speed option? Yes. Is Baldwin Lightstream cheap? Nope. Are Comcast and other services cheaper? Yep. Do they ever give you the speed they promise you? Nope. Does Baldwin Lightstream give you the speed they promise? Yes, and they have an app where you can check it. If you're strictly reviewing something for cost alone. Two thoughts stick in my mind. Ya get what ya pay for. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. The customer service is phenomena, and I'm sure much like everyone on a budget complaining about the cost, Baldwin LightStream has to make money to stay in business. Given what they pay some of these actors/tv personalities on TV, Baldwin Lightstream has to pay the networks...and can't give the consumer the product for less than what they pay for. Similarly, one cannot pay $50 on a $100 electric bill and tell the electric co they're too expensive. I'm sorry to see so many people have had such an incredibly bad experience they felt the need to leave crappy reviews. Everyone I've dealt with at Baldwin Lightstrea is beyond professional and immensely helpful. I've had zero service issues, and my billing is always correct. A big thanks to the Lightstream team, our internet went out "after hours" and Joanna went out of her way to get a technician out to our house. Mark showed up and with a smile he replaced the faulty equipment. This wouldn't have ever happened if these people didn't care as much as they obviously do. These guys are the worst at communicating with there customers. When they come out to install equipment or fix something they hide in the garage. This way they they don't need to go to their next call. The last time two technicians were here for over an hour doing what one person could have done in ten minutes. This has happened the last two times they were here. Then they told me our equipment needed a free upgrade. We lease the equipment from them. Then when we got our next bill they started charging us more every month. I tried to call the manager and he never called me back. read more

Also just found out they are making homeowners have to pay for them to install new fiberoptic cables otherwise they're switching your internet off once they switch over. This is the worst service I have had with internet and cable. Half the channels don't work in any given day. Internet is like dial up service. I have fiber optics. The only reason I am still with them is because there is no real other choice. As soon as I find one I am out. I have called three times over a week and a half with a promise for a tech to check the fiber optics. All customer service does is that they will reboot your cable. Nobody has shown up. For the price we pay this is the worst service. My neighbors have the same sentiments that I have. If this was any other company providing service they would be out of business! I give them 1 star because they answer the phone during the day. If you have choice change now! read more

I wish I could leave zero stars. I am not sure how we have to have Baldwin LightStream living in Hudson but what a disappointment. They are out to our area at least twice a month to try to 'fix' something. This is the slowest internet I've ever had and by far the most expensive. Now they are also charging for what used to be their free cable boxes, and of course they tack on a service fee for coming to drop them off at your house. Every time I've ever had to call them about anything, it is an unpleasant experience. Customer service members are outright rude, and basically tell you that you are wrong and there is nothing they can do about it. They clearly don't care because they are the only game in town. This is a remarkably over priced (4x what xfinity charges per mips just down the road) that has never achieved more than 40% of their "up to" speeds at our home. I've been promised improved speeds by renting their routers (no improvement but more cost). This is a horrible provider with little apparent concern about their outrageous pricing. I even believe that taxpayer dollars subsidized their fiber optic cable installation years ago. This is what happens with no competition. read more

Hands down the worst internet service provider ever. There is no competition in the area, so BTI has no incentive to provide satisfactory service. Our cable internet has been out for over 36 hours over the last 2 days, it is still currently out. I have been unable to work for the last 2 days due to baldwin telecom's incompetence. If you rely on your internet connection (eg, work online / remotely) BTI is going to disappoint you time and time again. You cannot rely on Baldwin Telecom. Even when BTI's internet is working, it's horrible. You never get the speeds they advertise. During peak hours you'll see speeds around 1mbps. I literally cannot connect to remote desktop during peak hours in the evening and have to plan my schedule around Baldwin Telecom's pathetic service. To put things into perspective, Baldwin Telecom customers would KILL for Comcast. That's saying a lot. read more

I've had good success with everyone I've dealt with at Baldwin. Had a few connection issues when we first hooked up to their system. Their service person was quick to solve the problem and easy to deal with. We have upload speeds around 14mbps and download speeds hovering around 2. There is more of a problem with the TV connection. We lose sound periodically, it comes in and out. Rebooting the Box has solve the problem each time. I don't think any other provider's equipment would be any better. Four stars for good people and good speed, lost one for the TV sound disruption. read more

Worst cable service one can imagine. Every year the cable coverage gets worse. There are limited NFL games especially when the Packers are on CBS. Baldwin Lightstream doesn't carry the game then. Fewer channels every year. The internet could not be slower. This year they have slowed it down to a snail's pace. read more
