I lived here for four years! I loved everything about this place. I moved out, tried to clean the apartment as best as I could. Left not one single piece of trash! I knew I left some curtain hangers up, I knew a cabinet it the kitchen had a little damage and with me having two little girls, there would be some minor things that would be repaired. I get my report after leaving and those little screws and small wall damage is costing me over $600 dollars. They claim the paint is $500 plus and I'm being charged for cracks in the walls (foundational issues). They claimed I didn't leave their valet trash bin, I DID! Not to mention I took a video when I left. I'm being charged $1259!!!! I left bc I lost my job and couldn't afford it anymore, but how the hell do they want me to pay this?! 10 days after I left????? I'm going to post the video just to show how clean the unit was!! I still had a table in there bc my dad had to take it apart and pick it up, but the place was spotless! Oh they made me pay to have the carpet professionally cleaned before leaving also! I'm mind boggled at how they can do something like this! I've lived at several other apartments and NOT ONCE did the place charge me over the deposit. I've called and called trying to get a hold of someone, left messages and NO CALL BACK. I recently transferred to Ballantyne from a sister property that truly took care of business. Unfortunately, my experience here has been the complete opposite. I've only been in my new unit for less than two weeks, and nearly every issue I reported has either been ignored or closed without being resolved. Both tubs were clogged with globs of hair, the kitchen cabinets have pieces hanging off as if they're about to fall, there is no water pressure in the master bath, and the front door sticks badly. Despite submitting work orders, maintenance closed them out without completing any of the repairs. Over the weekend I also discovered that the AC doesn't work, my thermostat is set at 65, but it's still unbearably hot inside. On top of that, the dishwasher doesn't even appear to be connected. The only positive experience I've had was with Nakala, but unfortunately, the service and responsiveness stopped there. I've spoken with multiple staff members, and nothing has been done. Maintenance also enters without knocking, which I find completely unacceptable, especially since I've made it clear that I do not want anyone in my apartment if I am not present. I am very disappointed with how this property is being managed and hope ownership takes a serious look at how residents' needs and concerns are being handled. I will not be submitting anymore work orders. Also the tubs were not resurfaced and the tiles were not cleaned in either restroom, awful experience to say the least. read more

This place is absolutely the worst place to live in. First of all, they are terrible at communication and never update or get back to you! Second, they constantly mess up rent payment information, then blame you for it and make you pay the hundreds of dollars in late fees. Then I had my ESA dog living there the whole time and gave them the information for my ESA dog on the day I moved in. They charged me $900.00 in "unauthorized pet" fees. Lastly, I had the carpets professionally done before moving out and they STILL charged me $800 for carpet replacement. Overall, this place is irresponsible and oblivious of their residents. I moved in during the year of 2014! Since the the property has went down from the property itself to the management! HORRIBLE! I have been complaining about the noise level for over 2 years! I say 2 years because I am rarely home due to my job but when I am at home all I hear is loud stomps from my neighbors upstairs! There is NO NEED TO MAKE A COMPLAINT OR EVEB CALL LAW ENFORCEMENT! NOTHING...I MEAN NOTHING will be done about it! The staff doesn't care from the property manager to the leasing office staff! Due to the pandemic I have to work from home and during my daily meetings my neighbors making so much noise up and you can hear clearly. They will say call the "Courtesy Office" first off "What COURTESY OFTICER" every time you call it goes directly to voice-mail for a RETURN CALL that you will NEVER get back! You call the office staff about the courtesy officer first thing they will say "Oh he/she is a Lewisville Police Officer and maybe working!" So you mean to tell me that a office is working 24 hours a day! I use to love these apartment but during the years it has gotten terrible! I would not recommend no one to move here! I have never experienced such prompt service when dealing with rental property. However, I have stumbled upon a jewel. The staff is super, kind, attentive , accommodating and very professional. I know I can be very picky and anal when it comes to certain things. I have been working with Rena and I must say she is very thorough and prompt. Every request I made in the matter of a couple weeks have been meet swiftly and she made every assurance that they were carried out to my satisfaction. I was happy when I had rented here in June 2019. Andrea in the leasing office was great. After living here for more than a year, here are my observations- 1. The associate called Brice in the leasing office is ill mannered & rude. He should not be allowed to interact with tenants. I try to see the good in people but he has been simply horrible in all my interactions in the last one year. He needs to undergo training or he should be let go. Seriously. 2. Apartments are of very poor quality with no sound insulation. I am on the 2nd floor & can hear my upstairs neighbor stomping around all day. When people close their doors, it causes very loud thud. These are very cheaply made apartments with poor quality insulating material. 3. There is only one recycle vat in the entire community. When it gets full (which it does very fast) you have to wait till it is emptied on Tuesday. 4. The maintenance guys are good but they seem to be overloaded. Last time I had put in a request for a clogged tub, nobody showed up before a week. A WEEK. Let that sink in. 5. Lots of cars are in the community without parking stickers. Parking is not enforced by management although they charge a monthly fee for parking. Based on the above, I am unable to give it more than one star although I personally like manager Raena Williams. She is nice but she needs to turn this place around. read more

Loved living at the Ballantynr apartments. Have lived there 10 years just moved out to b closer to my kids and grandkids. I couldn't ask for a more friendly staff everyone in the office and all the maintenance men were all wonderful to me and fast with any repairs I needed. I rented this apartment as a temporary place until I buy a house at the end of the year. I am NOT looking forward to getting my house because I love my apartment. It is really perfect for me, 2 bedroom/2 bath on the 3rd floor. The staff at Ballantyne have all been so awesome! The previous tenant in my unit left the unit in need of repairs. Heath in maintenance did a fabulous job at taking care of everything. He was good at prioritizing the urgent needs which I appreciated, especially since they were short-staffed. Monique is the agent who showed me around, and everyone in the office has been great whenever I've stopped in. They all seem to really enjoy working at Ballantyne which is conveyed to the tenants with their genuine smiles and willingness to go above and beyond in their jobs. I highly recommend Ballantyne to anyone looking for a good place to live that is reasonably priced. This was supposed to be a temporary place for me, but I'm rethinking it and just may sign a longer lease. :-) read more

I have been living at Ballantyne for roughly 7 months now. They have been prompt and on top of getting things done , we had a issues with the ac in our attic once before and it was fixed within 2 days . That fix lasted maybe 2 months . We have put in another request to fix it and that was now over a month ago. I call almost daily now and all I get is that they pay another company to fix the ac and they will fix it soon , tomorrow, next week. This is now the second week of calling every day and still no eta and or end on site . No one in the office seems to care or have put any effort into it . read more

After 3 Years of living in Ballantyne Apartments, I can happily say I have moved out. The Apartments are OK for the location and exterior appearance but the Management and Front office are very Apathetic. There are unsupervised juveniles that roam the property and have no respect for others or the Property. I would not recommend the Apartment based on my personal experience. read more

I moved into the Ballantyne Apartments back in 2013, and recently moved out at the end of July, 2020. I was there for thirteen years. I was in a second floor unit with a resident above me and below me. For twelve of the thirteen years that I was there, I never had any problems. Then, in April of 2019, that all radically changed when a new tenant moved in above me. On the very first day that the individual moved in, the noise started to occur. And I mean unacceptable noise that went way beyond the normal noise level for apartments. The individual was constantly banging around and stomping across the floor. Initially, I went up to the unit and knocked on the door. I nicely and professionally informed the resident that the noise level I was experiencing was unacceptable and ultimately disturbing me. All I got back was lip service and nothing changed. Then came the loud music with accompanying bass. Again, way above the normal acceptable noise level for apartments. The banging around, stomping, and the loud music continued consistently for a year. An entire year! I confronted the individual on two more occasions to no avail. I started realizing very quickly that he didn't care about me or my reasonable peace and quiet that my lease agreement guaranteed. And yes, there was a clause in my lease agreement that stated the management team guaranteed me "reasonable peace and quiet." In addition to confronting the resident multiple times, I also called the management office many many times and filed numerous complaints (well over five). I was always told that they "would take care of it," but they never told me what they were going to do and what that entailed specifically. The apartment complex manager Raena Williams would always tell me to call the onsite courtesy officer, who by the way is a Lewisville Police officer. Raena also advised me to request that the courtesy officer actually come to my unit first to hear the noise for herself, and ultimately, I would have a firsthand witness who could vouch for my complaints. The few times that she did answer my calls, she wouldn't come over and kept telling me "it wasn't necessary and that she believed me." So basically, Raena Williams put the "burden of proof" on me, the innocent person in the matter who had lived there for twelve years at that point, who was never late on a rent payment, who had no complaints lodged against me from other residents, and who never complained about anything up until that point. The remaining times I called the courtesy officer she didn't answer my calls. I left very detailed messages on each occasion and informed her as far as the pattern and the history. Those voice mails were never responded to. I also called the Lewisville Police department on three separate occasions to no avail. It took each officer about twenty minutes to show up and by the time they arrived, the resident had miraculously turned the music down. The police have their own criteria for what constitutes a noise disturbance, and because the resident had turned down the music when they arrived, I never had a case unfortunately with them. I began to feel like any additional calls to the police department would be wasting their time and bothering them. I continued to endure this abuse for an entire year, and all the while, the Ballantyne Apartment's management staff did NOTHING to help me. NOTHING! Even though they were very well aware of what I was experiencing. There is absolutely no excuse for this, and it's totally unacceptable. As far as my mental and emotional state during that year, I was extremely stressed out, anxious, angry, frustrated, disappointed, and terribly terribly let down. I couldn't believe or understand that the management team wouldn't promptly evict the resident for his continued abuse and unacceptable behavior. I started wearing silicone earplugs anytime that I was in my apartment in fear of being disturbed yet again. Can you imagine that? Having to constantly wear earplugs in your own home? Totally unacceptable! I would leave work and have that proverbial knot in my stomach (uneasiness, stress, and anxiety) because I knew I was going home to yet more disturbing noise. It makes me cringe even now when I think about it. Additionally, I lost countless hours of sleep over the situation, was completely stressed out and angry all of the time, and anytime I heard any kind of noise coming from the resident above, my blood just boiled. It was a horrible thing to have to go through and probably one of the worst experiences personally that I've ever endured. I was extremely angry at the resident obviously, but also angry with the management staff. I felt like as far as they were concerned, that I was the "bad guy" now for being so verbal and lodging all of the complaints. Meanwhile, the resident continued to bang and stomp around and play his music at an unacceptable level. His behavior never did change throughout this whole process. I ultimately moved out. read more

My daughter lives here and it looks nice at night, but drive through after the sun goes down, and the place is ghetto. I agree with other reviews: management is never around, and when they are, Monique or the other leasing agents are told to tell residents (and prospective residents) that the manager is busy or not in the office. I recently moved from Ballantyne Apartments about 2 weeks ago and I have to say the the decision to make that move was bittersweet. This apartment complex was one of the BEST i have ever lived in!!! Hands down!! The apartments are spacious, the grounds are maintained in excellent condition and my neighbors were awesome and you get just about anywhere with access to 121, 35 and 635! The Management Staff, and I mean EVERYONE from the front office to the maintenance staff were friendly, professional and responded quickly to my requests. I know a lot of these apartment reviews sound like they're written by the staff but I'm not a staff member, nor am I prone to writing reviews for most places but I really felt that this place deserved a shout out. And, by the way, I was so impressed by Management Support that I moved to one of their sister properties in Plano. This new place has a high bar to maintain when it comes to service thanks to the experience I had at Ballantyne. read more

The leasing agents never know anything and then when you ask to speak to the manager who has the answers or are the ones who take care of specifics, they are never available. Or it seems as if they train the agents to tell the tenants they are busy. Do your self a favor and avoid this complex! We are relocating from out of state and my wife was supposed to move into a furnished apartment this past Saturday. Of course the furniture was not delivered (they apartment staff did not confirm that the rental company had actually received the order). My wife was stuck as she needed the weekend to get situated (unpacked, laundry, groceries, etc.) as she started a new job that week and had little free time except for the weekend. They offered no concessions for the significant inconvenience due to their mistake and insisted that she would have to pay full rent for the unfurnished apartment while awaiting delivery of the furniture. The concept of customer service and taking responsibility for your actions (and mistakes) is clearly missing from this complex management team. read more

Avoid Ballentyne apartments at all costs! Ballentyne apartments wrongfully filed an eviction against me in Denton County. I paid my rent on time each month and satisfied all the terms of my lease agreement. In Sept 2011, I paid my rent before leaving the state with a money order. Upon returning a few weeks into the month, I found out that they credited my rent payment to another tenant, filed an eviction, and won the suit! There was no phone call or email from them to let me know that the eviction was occurring, only letters attached to my apartment door. Upon returning, I made them track down the error when I showed them my proof of payment. They never apologized nor did they have the court remove the eviction! I have been working to get this eviction off my credit report for years. I finally got an attorney and they are currently not replying to any requests. read more
