I would highly recommend anyone traveling to Mexico City to stop by , and eat at this place. I had their Salmon omelette, and it was simple delicious. They have many options to drinking excellent tea. The customer service is also excellent.

We have eaten here twice, the first time for breakfast serving delicious pastries and twist on great Mexican cuisine we loved it and the service was excellent. The second time not so great they did not have the wine we ordered and suggest a replacement over twice the piece, the food came very good Italian, I had pasta and my husband had pizza. Our wine had still not arrived as we were finishing up the wine arrived a Soave which was warm when we specifically requested cold. As we asked for the check the manager asked if we wanted to take the wine with us as it was still not cold, we declined and paid our bill and left. Too bad

I'm in town for a short visit and stumbled across this gem by accident while taking a walk though Colonia Roma. I stood a line for a bit to enter into the bakery where the selection of sweets and pan dulce is a bread lover's paradise. If bread isn't really your thing (and why wouldn't it be?), not to worry! There are plenty of handcrafted cakes, fruit tarts, and the like to boot. In case that wasn't enough, there is a barista on duty 24/7 for your caffeine needs. The Matcha Latte is must. Deliciously creamy and the matcha flavor is JUST right. The man outside who took our food order had impeccable timing; he even came into the bakery as we were finishing up our purchase to let us know he would bring our food order outside for us. And so he did! Armed with our various breads/sweets, and a DELICIOUS mini coconut cake to boot, we were handed our food order to go and Ubered home. Now, most food tends to not travel well, but this food breaks the mold. Nothing was out of place, everything was tightly secured, and boy, were we in for a treat. My daughter ordered the "Truffato", 2 sunny side up eggs with goat cheese, a different kind of cheese on top, sitting atop soft potatoes, with the option to douse the entire thing in delicious truffle oil. She's an absolute sucker for truffle, so this choice was a no-brainer. And of course, I loved it too. I ordered an omelette with poblano sauce on top, which came with salad (something I've been craving ever since I got here). Incredibly satisfied and our stomachs full, we headed off to the hair salon for more shenanigans. Would most definitely recommend this place for anyone in the area. Yum yum!!

Oh my goodness! Here it goes. My waiter was a sweet man who did a fine 8/10 waiterly job. I found little fault in his attentions, but beyond this any redeeming qualities of this restaurant came to a screeching halt. Well... the artisanal bread, grassy phenolic olive oil and balsamic vinegar were actually solid and a promising start. I had high hopes that were not dashed by the well-balanced house red that arrived on the heels of the yeasty crusty goodness with an air of austerity lightened with just a touch of fruit-forward character. Things were looking good. Soon, my "New York" steak arrived with it's side of spaghetti and veggie compliments. This is where the train seemed to leave it's rails and plunge headlong into an abysmal canyon, the depth of which may prove difficult to convey. To begin with the lesser evils, the veggies were more like really bad dancers than inoperable tumors. A roasted spring onion stood alone and proud above some confused green beans who rested uncomfortably atop a few slices of pineapple. They were not smiling. Captain Creative here found that mixing the beans and piña brought them to a nearly sub-passable level, but there was no question that the onion wanted no part in these shenanigans. To the right, a tiny bowl of bland, molto al dente spaghetti begged me for some olive oil, salt, and pepper. I was happy to acquiesce, crunch crunch. I was going to make it! Finally, my eyes fell upon the beef. I know it was beef. I've had it in many forms, but this was no New York cut. It was definitely new... something. It was far wider than any New York strip I've ever seen. It was 1/2 an inch thick, and the fat cap was so dense with connective tissue that I couldn't manage to grind down a single bite. I'm quite certain that this imposter originated somewhere far far away from the top of the short loin. After heavily medicating the unseasoned beast with a dose of salt and pepper, and sadly cutting away the tendon-like fat, I was rewarded with something that teased me with a suggestion of cowy flavor, uninspiring but palatable. In all of this confusion, I had forgotten about my proud spring onion, which I now proceeded to slice up and apply to some oil and vinegar soaked bread slices. A moment of relief! I smiled when I remembered that I could still wash all of this down with a pretty fair red. Life has it's ups and downs, and I knew that with a dose of my favorite dessert, creme brulee, I was bound to finish up on a high note. Well... my finishing moments arrived, a bit less like some soaring Heifetz finale than the dying screams of a small tortured... never mind. I wasn't sure anyone on earth would believe what I faced, so I had to document it with my trusty 6s+. It was a soup, and a very thin soup indeed. There actually was no crust or custard in the accepted sense of the words. Runny from top to bottom. The cream for my coffee was a dairy substitute. Bear in mind that this was at a high-end restaurant in one of the gastronomical capitals of planet earth. I called my waiter over, thanked him for his great service, took good care of him, and left with my tail between my legs. Earlier that day, I had enjoyed one of the best dining experiences in memory. Entropy? Negentropy? Not sure what was going on here, but I suspect the message is more Pema Chodron than Stephen Hawking.

    Awesome!! Bread was perfect!!!

Traveling from US to eat here. This place was fantastic. The bakery, the appearance, the people and the service was great. I ordered 3 pizzas, best I have ever had. Also, Americano coffee tasted fresh and delicious. The pastries were so appealing and they make everything from scratch, will be coming back.

    Enfrijoladas!

The pastries and service were delicious. While they do not have indoor seating, it was very pleasant to sit outside on the sidewalk and people-watch. We tried three different pastries: a plantain pudding pastry, a fruity meringue pastry, and a very unique peanut butter and chapulines cruffin. All were excellent. My only piece of constructive feedback is regarding the payment process. We had to pay for the pastries separately from the coffee, which made the experience less smooth. It would be much more convenient if everything could be paid for on a single check. Overall, it was a wonderful spot!

The service was attentive and friendly--occasionally a little slow, but that's part of the relaxed rhythm of being in Mexico. The outdoor seating is charming, surrounded by greenery and decorated with natural plants, which creates such a pleasant atmosphere to start the day. I especially enjoyed the Betty juice made with beets--it was fresh, vibrant, and absolutely delicious. The pastry selection feels endless, unlike anything I've experienced elsewhere in Mexico. During our visit, they were offering pan de muerto for Día de los Muertos, with a creative twist: a rich chocolate filling. It was outstanding! Overall, my friends and I had a wonderful experience here--delicious food, a beautiful setting, and a bakery that truly makes you want to come back again and again.

It's more of a grab-and-go spot than a sit-down café, with a selection that caters to specific dietary preferences like gluten-free, vegan, or low-sugar. We tried a few items to sample the range -- the strawberry empanada, some bread, and their wheat tortillas. The empanada had a mild flavor and wasn't overly sweet, which may be a plus for some but felt a bit underwhelming. The tortillas had a great texture but an unusual aftertaste that stood out. The other bread items we picked up were similarly neutral in flavor -- nothing particularly memorable, but not bad either. Overall, Pan Gabriel seems to prioritize clean ingredients and health-conscious recipes, which is great if that's your focus. Just keep in mind that the taste and richness typical of more traditional baked goods might not be what you'll find here.
