I explained that I wanted a bouquet delivered to the hospital today as my nephew had just become a dad .She told me she was more or less closed but I explained that I really wanted the flowers delivered today and needed a nice bouquet. She said she would do her best and an hour or so later the flowers were delivered! I really appreciated her doing this as I had called a few other places in Letterkenny who said they could only deliver the next day. Thank you Aanees! I would use this florist again .

The wares inside are lovely, especially the cards, they have some beautiful ones that you could frame as a series of pictures. They do fresh soups, sandwiches, quiches, salads and cakes. I had a really tasty panini with bacon, cream cheese and sundried tomato; the scones and cakes all looked delicious too. Worth a stop when paying homage to one of Ireland's greats buried beneath mighty Ben Bulben's shadow.

The hospitality of these sisters was amazing! Also, the sandwiches were really good! Tuna and Onion as well as Egg and Cucumber were the sandwiches we got. And they were so delicious. If you come here you need to absolutely need to eat their homemade scones. Probably the best scones you will ever eat. Also fun fact all of the cups they use for tea are actual Chinaware. This place is a homey cottage up at the top of the mountain overlooking the ocean - picture perfect! Please tell your tour guide to stop here as you will NOT regret it!

Generally speaking most of what was on the shelves was cheap and nasty and not much going for it generally. Jingles also seemed to think it was their solemn duty to broadcast their music to the entire street. Maybe at the height of the summer holiday season this is in keeping (probably still annoying though). however in the middle of the winter with the street deserted it was plainly rediculous!

The skill is taught parent to child and each stage of the process requires a specialized skill. A throwback to olden days. The workers are paid by piece and any that do not measure up are summarily destroyed. We bought some items for gifts and for ourselves and had them shipped home. All very easy. No need to carry expensive porcelain on the jet. Highly recommend a visit. Mark & Nancy.

The generation before mine really cared for this delicate, almost translucent, almost weightless, fine porcelain (as they did for Waterford Crystal lead glassware) that is characterised by its thinness, slightly iridescent surface and body formulated with a significant proportion of frit. When made the delicate ware goes through 16 pairs of hands before it's ready to sell. I'm pleased to be the owner of some beautifully designed pieces and it saddens me that it's popularity has waned - things of beauty are a joy forever. The company which began in 1857 has had to to diversify just to survive as the current generation won't thank you for true craftwork that often is of itself an art form. Now they also sell cutlery, kitchenware, glassware, table lamps and so on. The village is right on the border between Northern and Southern Ireland - literally you can cross the border from the pottery by just a few steps. If you are close by it's worth a visit as it's not just free to go in, it's a living museum.
