Some would say it's only 6300+ yards from the tips and think it's an easy course. Trust me when I…read moresay it's not. I caddied for a player at the Maryland Open here and between the super fast greens, the doglegs, and the changes in slope, this place defends itself well. Course was in fantastic shape. Lots of variety with each hole and it's very walkable. It's an old style course in that the greens are close to the next tee box, and almost every green are pitched from back to front (aka don't go long). The range was good, but a little short. Some guys were hitting drives into the 8th (?) hole. There are two putting greens which give you a sense of how fast and undulating the greens are. They also have a small chipping green. The locker room was nice, but the bathrooms are showing their age. Overall they did a fantastic job in welcoming a lot of good players for this tournament.

The tables were lead out great with a few on the patio and the rest in the main dining area. The food was good, the Staff were attentive and they kept the place neat and tidy. I'm giving 4 stars solely because there was a leak in the pipe that kept dripping in the main dinner room. I assume it was from the air conditioning unit that had to be on full blast since it was 100 degrees outside.

I was here for a work function. I am reviewing this based on the clubhouse and food services and…read morebar, not as the actual golf club. I could not find a listing for the clubhouse alone on yelp. The clubhouse is very lovely, with indoor and outdoor porch seating. They can open one wall almost completely to have access to the porch for additional seating. The bar is a full bar and the bartenders craft excellent cocktails to order. They have a reasonable beer selection and it appears they have a good wine selection, although I stock mainly with cocktails for this function. We had set up for a Buffet style catering event, and it was superb. The, bread was fresh and warm with perfect pre-cut slices of butter available. The salad was a build your own station, and all of the ingredients were fresh and crisp. The dressings were also well prepared, although I don't know if they were kitchen made or from a bottle. The BCC tomato dish was half tomatoes, crusted with brown sugar on the cut surface, and then cooked (baked? Broiled?) until the brown sugar formed a crust. These were very tasty and very interesting. A bit too sweet for me to have more than one but certainly worth a try. They had fingerling potatoes as well as Maryland crab soup. The only unfortunate part of service was that the person serving the soup wasn't familiar with the dish, and therefore did not mix it up prior to serving each bowl... so all of the crab was clearly on the bottom of the container, and none of us got any crab in our actual bowls, since she was ladling it from the top. Not a big deal, but seemed odd for a place this fancy to not have staff who understand how to serve Maryland crab soup. The main course was Maryland crabcakes and châteaubriand. Both were delicious and extremely well prepared. For dessert we had a variety of bars and pastries, and even a birthday cake for the person of honor for the event!

The club changed the rules for members mid process thereby screwing the indviduals. Knowing what i know now i would not have joined. Other clubs are more member / family friendly. When things are tough they are begging for members. Demand increases for memberships and they go into how can we screw you mode. As a member they nickle and dime you. I belong to multiple clubs and they are all higher end than our club. None of them treat members like bcc. Ask the people who leave. Totally not worth it. sad and disappointing. thanks for posting for me E. Fellow members would be brutal to me even though they know i am right.

Affordable memberships considering the area. I have friends who have been members for years and still enjoy it. The golf course is really solid. They have a great mixture of holes. A couple of drivable par 4s and all the par 5s are reachable from certain tees. Two tough par 3s on the back that can make or break a round. Green surrounds are tough if you're in the wrong spot. The greens themselves are always in fantastic shape. They are severely sloped at times, so you must be accurate with your approach shots. I couldn't find the golf course architect on their website, but they did a good job considering the hilly topography and small footprint of the property. But I can also see one hitting pretty much the exact same shots every time no matter what tee box you're playing. Favorite hole: Par 5 12th, except for the yellow range balls that litter the left side. Downhill the entire way. Range on the left, trees and then the 18th hole on the right. Reachable for many with usually a blind-ish to a peninsula green with water right and long. The very tall red stake frames the front right of the green. Very cool hole before the brutally tough par 3 13th. The driving range is good and they have really nice Titleist practice balls to hit. The short game area is outstanding. I could spend hours out there with a few wedges. They have two small-ish putting greens on either side of the clubhouse. The restaurant is a great space and they have an area for bigger events. The food and service are both good too. Sadly, I have not enjoyed the pool area. Just a solid club overall. The members I have interacted with have all been great. I have had and heard somewhat mixed interactions with the people that run the place, but nothing bad enough to write about here.

There is a cozy coat closet in the mini lobby in the banquet area. The employees did a remarkable job decorating and preparing all the tables. We retrieved our name tags and placed them nicely on the table of our choice. This was for the wait staff to identify what entree to place where. I found this method efficient. We preselected our entree of choice, so that ensured the flow of serving went smoothly. I've been to other restaurants/banquet spaces where they take your order on the spot. I prefer the preselection and table card method better. Food: They had appetizers that did not disappoint. From the delicious crab dip to the selection of cheese and meats. Choice of Steak or Chicken & Shrimp Mashed potatoes Carrots and Green Beans I chose the Chicken & Shrimp since I typically choose steak. The Chicken was tasty and the shrimp was yummy. A light sauce was drizzled on top of both chicken and shrimp. The mashed potatoes were heavenly. It had a nice toasted top yet every bite melted in your mouth. The veggies were cooked perfectly; not too soft or crunchy. They eventually opened up the ice cream sundae bar which you customized your ice cream sundae. Water was topped off throughout the night. No one had a dirty dish sit at their table more than a minute. Coffee was served shortly after dinner. The staff was amazing. There was a bar with variety of adult drinks. Cash or tab was available. Overall, I recommend this spot. I'd definitely go back.

Stumbled on this course while biking nearby. Grateful they were open to let me go out around 4:30p…read moreish. (One Oct Sunday evening (2022))$18 to ride 9) I've only been playing about 18mths. And only played about 20 very varied courses. Each have had its own pros and cons and thus comparing would be pointless It's not Scotland nor the masters. It's slap in the middle of the city, so yes. There's traffic and cars going by and music will be heard. I think there's at least two "through ways" slap in the middle of the course (so look both ways before crossing infront of speeding vehicles). The other city course I played in Bmore is alongside a highway. I've played the President course which is alongside a military airfield..pick your poison Unlike many courses, no 9 does NOT end at the clubhouse. (They should tell you the is when you first head out) No markings "eye level" that say which Tee, but it's written on the cart path. Some Signs say "to next tee"; it would be nice for it to read the actual "next tee NUMBER" A couple of cool views from above the city, and a male deer, then an entire family of deer, almost ran me over...so there's nature too. The greens were gorgeous. Fairways could be better, could be worse. But seems like a great place to practice your game, not pay a mint, and focus on technique rather than "what you wear". I'm a 55yo female, played alone, and had no fear. I saw one person walking the course. he was Relatively young and seemingly plays there often. I am in NO SHAPE to walk this course. Seemed to be lots of hills/inclines/declines, Crossing of streets, and a couple tees were "not" right next to the prior greens. Glad I got a cart and left my push cart in the car! Because many hits were up hill, downhill, or blind...and I didn't always hit it straight down the fairway, I lost a couple of balls "in plain sight" off to the left or right Not in any woods or trees or brush.. just likely hidden under the fall leaves or deep grass. Alas. Tis part of the game No water hazards. I was not bothered by the sand. And lots of wide open space. I only got to 14 before turning in the cart by "curfew", so I'll def come back I suppose they could "pretty up" the place, but I'm sure that would mean higher prices They could re-fence all around to keep walkers from cutting across, but they've likely tried (unsuccessfully ) to thwart a kid who doesn't feel like walking a mile out his way after school to go around. Cart paths were kinda rough in spots. The carts will beep if you get too close to the greens. Clubhouse was clean and well lit. Snack bar was closed but there are QR codes on the course that says food can be delivered anywhere when ordered -will have to try that out one day I'll def be back
