Typically the representatives are positive and promising but either something is broken in their system or they hire incompetent employees as the trash keeps on arriving in my mailbox. Hunt Valley Country Club was the absolute perfect venue for my wedding! We met with Anna in August 2017, and her charm and knowledge immediately made us feel at ease! She showed us all around the beautiful venue, which includes floor to ceiling glass windows encasing three of the four walls in the newly renovated reception hall and overlooking the well-manicured and maintained golf course and pond, a gorgeous wood bar area, updated carpeting and beautiful chandeliers, tasteful décor, a rather large wedding party room (for the wedding party to get dressed, eat, drink, and de-stress inside throughout the day), beautiful bathrooms, and of course, a huge tent and balcony overlooking the golf course, under which we got married on June 29, 2018. As if that wasn't enough to make us fall in love with the venue (it was), Anna walked us through all they were willing to offer, including discounts for a Friday wedding, all linens - and they have a huge array of color choices - silverware, tableware, and glassware, and they also provided us with many options for our dinner and cocktail spread. We loved having so many choices, and the fact that the pricing was extremely affordable gave us the ability to add more, such as an open bar for guests. Our tasting was amazing; everything was delectable, and Hunt Valley Country Club even took care of the cake and centerpieces for us! Seriously, Hunt Valley Country Club is an amazing, classy, elegant establishment, and the perfect venue. It is a one-stop shop, and the only vendors I needed to go outside for were the DJ, photographer, florist, and photobooth. And on top of all this, Hunt Valley Country Club also included a day-of-coordinator, Emily, as part of our contract. Emily was fantastic! She and Anna sat down with us and went through a huge checklist so they knew exactly what was needed and what we expected a month ahead of time (plus, they kept in constant email contact with use throughout our engagement--from August to June). Emily also put together the floor plan, double checked all linen colors and floor spacing, determined our timeline, ran us through our rehearsal, verified all our planned decorations, and had us bring all our decorations up two days in advance. Emily and her team then decorated the entire venue for us - making the decoration aspect of the wedding completely stress free for me (and then they packed it all back up for us and had our decorations waiting for my family to pick up the next day)! I was so impressed! Emily even pinned all the boutonnieres and corsages on our wedding party! To be honest, Emily, Anna, and their team are the reason my wedding day was perfect! There wasn't one issue nor one thing I would change; I've heard from many brides that their day didn't go exactly as planned, but mine went exactly as I envisioned, and I 100% owe that to Emily and Anna. They were superb and fantastic, and I highly recommend them and the Hunt Valley Country Club! Do yourself a favor and contact Anna to see the venue. You won't be disappointed! read more

First off, I read the other reviews and people give this club a low ranking because they are not members and were not served, I get it your frustrated but it is not fair... OK on to a real review, Food had a major upgrade about 2 years ago when when chef Warren took over the kitchen. I am consistently impressed with everything we get, but anything with short ribs blows me away. Service, I would not say it is speedy, but is very friendly and accommodating. Pool, well this a not the best part as it is somewhat dated, new pool furniture helped this year and hoping for more investment next year. Golf is pretty good, they have been working hard and it is getting better every year. Foot golf and disc golf, new in 2017 and this is another area where more investment is needed, but nice to have some options... read more

My husband and I used HVGC about a year ago for our wedding. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are immaculate and there is an abundance of parking. The staff was a pleasure to work with up until a month of so before the wedding. Our wedding coordinator was either fired or moved on, however, we were not informed. Naturally, this was a stressful time. The HVGC more than made up for this inconvenience by working with us and making sure that we were comfortable. The staff was friendly, attentive and willing to go above and beyond to accommodate us. We did have an issue with a reaction to food that was supposed to be allergen friendly. We took many steps and precautions to avoid this situation. Please be careful if you have a family member who suffers from food allergies. This was very scary and this is why I can only give 4 stars. Overall, this was a wonderful venue to work with and my husband and I would do it again without any hesitation, other than handling food differently. read more

I came to Hunt Valley for a wedding & had to be here a few hours early to help with the wedding party. I wanted to grab a quick bite because I had been running around all day & hadn't had a proper meal. I decided to stop at the restaurant since I didn't have access to a car & the restaurant is literally...right freaking here. After asking if I could sit at the bar, the hostess went and asked "him" to see if I was allowed to dine. She came out and said, "no, because you're not a member" No drinks or appetizers for me. Okayyyy. I'm sorry, but are you a country club in Beverly Hills? A country club in Paris? A country club in New York City? How about a country club in a slightly less upscale city like - Chicago, or Austin? NO. No, you are not. You are none of these things. You are a golf club in the middle of nowhere Maryland. Who am I upsetting if you serve me a platter of sustenance here? The Keds-wearing, synthetic polyester blend outfits of Maryland suburbanites? Are you going to run out of crab cakes or something? Your restaurant is basically empty. Hope your frozen food doesn't get more frostbitten from your lack of member restaurant patrons. Good luck. read more

The Hunt Valley Country Club provided me and my husband with the poorest customer service we have had so far in our search for a wedding venue, and it was even before we booked with them. This unpleasant experience only demonstrated how badly they conduct their business and how much they do not value new customers. I first heard about this venue through the website knot.com where this venue was highly rated and so I had proportionally high expectations. I also liked the visual of the place so emailed them requesting more information about their services and prices. They didn't take too long to get back to me with a word.doc filled out with all the information, services and prices. That was helpful because most venues do not give out so much information at first so I emailed their private events director on a Tuesday asking when on Sunday would be a good time to meet. She answered back, and we both agreed that 2:30 pm on Sunday was the best time to meet. I made plans around this meeting because this venue is located 1 hour and a half away from my house. We rearranged our entire weekend to accommodate this appointment. However, when Sunday arrives she emails me at 10:34 am from her personal email cancelling our meeting without even giving us a justifiable reason or trying to reschedule. I was already disappointed, but I answered back asking if it would work for her if we pushed back our meeting by an hour or so. She sends back a dismissive email repeating word by word of what she stated previously, that she needed to take her "puppy" to the vet. I found her emails very unprofessional but decided to give this another try by asking if there would be someone else at the venue who would be able to take us around for a tour. I also explained to her that we lived far and that we had made arrangements to be able to travel to Phoenix, MD just to visit the venue. The conclusion is that it has been five days and the private events director, Anne Kable, hasn't responded to my email. Communication has been inconsistent making this experience even more unsatisfying for us. Unfortunately, the person who was designated to deliver an outstanding first impression, in fact, provided a very negative and unfriendly first impression. As a bride, I want to trust 100% in the venue I will book for our wedding. I don't want to have the slightest doubt about the place I choose to host my wedding. Ultimately, I hope that things work smoothly on my wedding day and that it will be the happiest day of our lives with as little unpredictable things happening as possible. The Hunt Valley Country Club definitely do not seem to be suitable since they were unable to take us through the first and most basic steps. Hunt Valley Golf Club - Beautiful Golf Course with 27 championship holes! - Golf Near Me - Phoenix, Maryland

We have been members for a couple of years, and the staff could not be more professional. They have a lean crew, and most of the staff has been there for many years. They are a loyal and hardworking family, and it comes through when you are part of the community. It also tickles me when someone who is a non-member gets mad because they don't get served, because the club facilities are for members only. Now, I don't own a pair of Keds, and I am also not a snooty snobster. In fact, I was hesitant to join any club b/c, well I don't want to be painted with the broad brush of a "club" person. HVGC is for those folks who have, for a few generations, been a bit less pretentious and want to enjoy the beautiful views of the valley, without worrying about getting shot or mugged (yes this is Baltimore). Also the food is outstanding. Warren is a consummate professional. Words really don't do this chef justice, considering the type of challenges he has faced. He is my hero both as a chef and a gentleman. He, alone, makes this club a better place. To the DC poster who was put off because the restaurant didn't serve you a meal is not the club's problem...bless your heart. If you were a close enough friend of the bridal party..enough so to come early and help set up the wedding....your friends probably should have had your back and fed you for being such a good buddy. Hang out in DC and take your frustrations out elsewhere my friend. We will be enjoying the serene views here from the middle of nowhere. I am now going to invest in a synthetic polyester blend pantsuit - because that sounds awesome. Thanks for the tip. read more
