I love Baltimore. Jeremy and I had plans to meet up with a group of friends to celebrate Chris's birthday at 6pm. But the weather was lovely and we were bored sitting around the apartment so we went to waste some time downtown. We parked in Little Italy and walked the entire promenade for like the 15th time. There's always something to see... this time we saw TWO couples dressed for their wedding, and an entire dinner cruise worth of people wearing white. I see the need for some updates in the area. New neighborhoods are springing up, and old neighborhoods are being gentrified, but the area around the harbor remains the same... only slowly losing its charm to a mishmash of stores that don't offer anything unique, and over-priced restaurants. Though I was glad to see Angeli's pizza - we had Chris's birthday dinner at their Little Italy location last year and had a blast. Rash Field is a hot mess. I don't know what they think they're doing with that space, but it's ugly, broken, unmaintained, and dangerous. It's supposed to be a family friendly place, with a (scary as hell looking, Silent Hill-esque) playground but just a quick look around revealed many places where children should not go. I miss that crazy fountain, and the merry-go-round. But the new marsh area by the aquarium is pretty cool. I would have been absolutely thrilled if the otters had shown themselves, but alas I couldn't find any hint of them. I also adore the paddle dragons. And now there are electric pirate ships. No paddling required! Sadly, they are in no way accessible, but I still enjoy watching them. It's absolutely possible to have a great time at the Inner Harbor without spending any money (except for parking) just people/boat watching. Street performers, such as the dude playing the violin, provide the soundtrack. There are a lot of events held throughout the year in this area. Nothing much was going on when we were there, but the Book Festival is coming up... and the German Christmas Village is fantastic. I highly recommend my city. Go check it out. read more

This is a review for Baltimore in general. I typically only hang out in Harbor East or Fells Point and occasionally will go to an event at a brewery in the city. I have no complaints about the restaurant or bars or service but I seem to have a sitter here (no guys buying drinks, someone following behind as you leave for your car).... Better policing (in all forms) would be helpful! On top of that north Baltimore is all boarded up, there is violence in the city, and homeless harass. read more

If you visit city of Baltimore, Inner Harbor offers lots of attraction such as the National Aquarium, Top of the World Observation Tower, Federal Hill park, Science center etc. Unfortunately, I didn't get to visit the Science center. Most of the attractions are within the walking distance so be sure to wear your comfortable shoes. You would need to pay for your own parking. If you get to the Top of the World Observation Tower or the Federal Hill park you can get a good view of the city. read more

This is a review for Baltimore's authentic Christmas village. Held at Inner Harbor. The holiday German village set up for 2023 was quite remarkable and fun. There are loads of food options all traditional German style food from Bratwurst to smoked salami, chocolates, potatoes, along with all sorts of wonderful, hot beverages, both alcoholic, and non-alcoholic. I especially liked the Irish coffee, spiced mold cider in the hot chocolate with a touch of Baileys. The other nice aspect was being able to pick up a mug or Stein as a remembrance from the days events that was more economical cost to refill once it was purchased. However, I do suggest if everybody's going to get one to go into the German village and buy the three for 20 instead of three individually. There's plenty of room to maneuver around, and the flow moves pretty quickly in and out. The only difficulty was in the German Village under the tent when you wanted to get in line to see the traditional German style, holiday, decorations, and chocolates, but the line did move pretty quickly. The only huge issue we had was to poor WiFi onsite that caused many vendors to post cash only. Suggest someone looks into that as the chocolate booth had to turn-away credit card sales. We enjoyed the Salami Raclette Sandwich, Alpine Cheese Fries(vegetarian) with Swiss Cheese, Smoked Glazed Bacon, and Pretzels with German mustard. All of which were hot nicely prepared and delicious. We were also able to reserve parking right across the street from the venue for $20 online that offered a three minute walk to the venue. Everyone that served us polite and helpful and the atmosphere around entire village was festive. To top off the day before we left the Ravens band played for us as the Majesty came into dock. We enjoyed the day and spent a little over 4 hours checking out the shops, listening to music and enjoying some fantastic food! Highly recommended! read more

Baltimore's Inner Harbor was a lovely introduction to what sights there are to see downtown. We took a stroll through here after visiting the aquarium and ran into a lot of cool things. There's shops, restaurants, paddle boats, pirate ships, and a stunning view all around you. Even on a Monday afternoon, there were quite a bit of others exploring as well. I remember coming here as a kid going on field trips. And it is as awesome now as it was then. The place is clean and has tons of security and police patrolling. If you are not careful, you can end of spending an arm and a leg on parking. You can get $10 flat rate parking nearby if you look. This spot is beautiful. It is right on the water and has many shops and restaurants like Ruth Chris, The Hard Rock, the Shake Shack and Phillips Seafood. It is also home to the world famous Baltimore Aquarium. You can also rent paddle boats or take a water taxi to get from one side of the harbor to the other. You will also find some antique ships in the harbor that are available for tours. I saw an old Coast Guard cutter, which was closed and a submarine. There are benches along the harbor's walkway that looks out to the water. You can walk along the water for hours. I saw many joggers while I was there. There is also an outdoor music venue there that has some first rate acts like Boys 2 Men. This is a wonderful spot to spend a beautiful day, but like I said be careful with parking fees. You can eat, shop, paddle boat, play tourist and sit and watch the Bay all in one place. If you are in Baltimore, I highly recommend checking this spot out. It is a must see. read more

The Inner Harbor is the most impressive part of Baltimore, dynamic and full of intriguing stops, splendid views, and all sorts of people. It is largely walkable, and some water taxis traverse the area as well. There's always something to do, but there's also always some construction hassle. Despite the notoriously goofy trash wheels that are supposed to be cleaning out the streams that feed into the harbor, it still isn't clean water. With some more work, the harbor can still get better. read more

Living and trying to start a family in the 1990's Inner Harbor was challenging and exciting. Neighborhood parks and local charm along with job opportunities made the area very attractive at that time.The Renaissance and Sheraton Hotels were perfect with their views and pedestrian bridges. The baseball and football franchises were the best. All accolades from out of town quests. Watching "The Wire" on HBO, there was always hope for improving the many urban issues. Visiting recently, I am saddened by the closure of the Gallery Place mall and the nearly abandoned Harborplace, all costing around $100 M. The nearby empty office spaces and attempted renewals of Lexington and Cross Street Markets are symptomatic of an underlying weak economy and residual Covid issues. Baltimore's Inner Harbor is a touristy place, no doubt, but it's also a fun spot to dine and party along the water. Yes, there some cheesy spots like Ripley's Believe It Or Not, Dick's Last Resort, and HardRock along with some fast-foody chain joints, and Phillips Seafood. Yet you can also drink and enjoy eating outside on the water with live music and DJ's on floating platforms. I had a pretty solid meal at Phillips and dug in to some crabcake. Some shopping is also close by, and hotels within a quick walk. There is a decent amount to see and do and the national aquarium is also here. I went out for a morning run and it's a great spot to get your fitness in as the views are nice. It's very clean and I didn't see garbage or litter anywhere. Why only 3 stars? Other than the overall touristy vibe there is a strange homeless population that wanders the area at all hours, and even more so during the evenings. It's an unsavory element here that makes one feel a bit unsafe. I also noticed pretty much no police presence at all in the area, which I would have liked to see especially later at night when heading back to the hotel after an evening out. Still, if staying in the area for a show at the convention center, or in town for a weekend getaway, the Inner Harbor is worth a visit or two. read more

We went to lunch and then decided to walk around. It's dirty. Many stores are closed. No one will let you use the bathroom, even when shopping in the stores. One store tells you to go to another and the chain of no bathrooms continues. So frustrating. We were looking forward to spending a day having lunch, shopping and the aquarium. If you are a local or just visiting this is a great spot to visit! Baltimore may not have the best reputation but I am telling you this area is so beautiful! It has grown so much! The aquarium and several restaurants and museums are right around to enjoy. There is constantly some type of event from BGE light festival to a concert happens right around the inner harbor. Depending on the time you visit they do have a ice rink as well, which is so much fun! The parking can be a bit tricky but I would suggest you do some research before coming if you aren't familiar because it can be a pain unless you just park in a garage. Also depending on what you are interested in doing while there can help with the parking. Some of the cruises and events have certain parking garages they have partnered with so you get discounted parking, so take that into account. If you go during the weekends you will definitely see street music players and different side shows for money. Some are really interesting! The inner harbor is a great family, date night or a late night with your friends area! Go out and enjoy a good time! read more

Meh? At the time of writing this review, I have stayed in an Inner Harbor hotel twice in two years - plus there have been multiple days where I traveled through the city without staying overnight. So I've been in Baltimore's Inner Harbor a fair number of times in recent memory. Even with those repeat visits, Baltimore's Inner Harbor doesn't stand out in my memory - it certainly doesn't strike me as a particularly special cultural touchstone. Instead, it strikes me as a central tourist spot filled with chain stores and cheesy souvenir shops. And none of the eateries here are exceptional, either, at least not in my experience. (My best meals in Baltimore have definitely been in smaller surrounding neighborhoods, which each feature their own local restaurants and hole-in-the-wall dining options.) Combine the so-so food and shopping options with some of the highest parking prices I've ever seen, and most of the Inner Harbor ranges from forgettable to downright frustrating. The exception to this seems to be the aquarium, which is worthy of its own review. Put simply, it's fantastic, and definitely helps to elevate the Inner Harbor as a whole. Boat watching can also be enjoyable if the weather is good and there's a lot happening in the area. Final thoughts: make some time to visit the Inner Harbor if only to check out the aquarium and to say you visited the Inner Harbor. After your visit, however, consider spending rest of your day in an area like Fells Point - which, in my opinion, is just as beautiful and much more enjoyable. read more

My review will encompass (1) things to do or lack thereof (2) the shops and dining (3) cleanliness of area When I was your age- inner harbor had Phillips in Harborplace (RIP), large building had ESPNZone, and Hooters and a variety of shops in the Harborplace, and the Gallery was LIVE! Nowadays the Aquarium is still there, but things are all fouled up. Phillips has moved to large power plant building, Harborplace has Cheesecake Factory, but the shops in Harborplace and Gallery are SCUTTLED! Very sad and disappointing. I can remember when that was a HUGE deal to go to ESPN ZONE, Phillips, shopping places and you felt like you were in heaven. Now- ouch. It's still good to go the Aquarium and the addition of the Cheesecake Factory is like an IV to the area- but The Gallery is very sad and decrepit. read more

This place is beautiful: seating by the water, brunch locations with outdoor seating and people zooming by one with LIME scooters. I definitely did my share of taking endless photos by the water, but who wouldn't?? This place is right by Baltimore's famous 'Thames Oyster House' and I had to wait for 1.5 hours for a table. Luckily, it wasn't a problem because I got to enjoy this beautiful harbor. In my opinion, a visit to Baltimore isn't complete without coming by here. I came here with my wife on a holiday weekend. It had been 20+ years since I had been here last and was hoping it was as good as my childhood memories were. It was! We stayed within walking distance and within about 15 minutes were inside the harbor area. I loved watching the little paddle boats (both the dragons and the pirate ones) move slowly around the water. In the same area were historic sail ships and a submarine. Cutting through the area were the cross-harbor taxis and tourist cruise ships, including one decorated like a Pirate ship. On land, the area laid host to various malls filled with eateries and shopping centers, the National Aquarium, a Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, and various small pop-up events. Musicians played trumpets or guitars for money, a dance troupe was doing some coordinated movement in one area, and a self-awareness public event was going on at a small park area. Across the harbor was Federal Park, which is a great place to just relax and take it all in. For those more physically inclined, walking along the water fronts or at the docks puts you right in the excitement that only thousands of tourists and locals having a good time can generate. Come back at night and see the skyscrapers lit up, hear the water crash against the piers, and take in a sunset or the stars (but watch out for shady characters). I had a blast here as a kid, had an even better time here as an adult, and hope to be able to come back and take even more of it in. read more

It's been well over a decade since I've been to the Inner Harbor and it's the same and different all at once. Still beautiful, still crowded, still touristy. The restaurant scene has changed though. There was a line out the door for Bubba Gumps but we were seated immediately at Phillips. And speaking of Phillips, they and The Hard Rock Cafe have huge decks over the water. Besides eating and enjoying the views (which is all I did) there are other things for you like the aquarium (always a plus), touring the boats ( there were several navy boats docked that day) splashing around on those paddle things or take a water taxi somewhere else. I'd never fall into the shopping tourist crap that surrounds the area. But people love it and good for them. It's peaceful during a weekday to walk around here while everyone's at work. There is something about the Inner Harbor in Baltimore that is so inviting. We had the opportunity to view it from a different vantage point. We were visiting friends in the Harbor Court Condos where the views are just stunning. To me, what makes Baltimore's Inner Harbor complete is March. Knowing I can leave NYC in very cold weather and drive to warmer Baltimore is a pleasure. When I'm all settled in and come to the inner harbor, I'm walking by the water in short sleeves. It's a nice change of pace. I define Baltimore as the little engine that could. There are historic homes, hotels and a nice waterfront. The harbor itself isn't deep enough for large ships. On July 4, 1976, When New York City had Tall Ships for the U.S. Bicentennial, eight ships from other nations visited Baltimore where they attracted a huge number of tourists. I guess the local politicians said Hmm, this rocks so they made a tourist hub with attractions like the National Aquarium, Maryland Science Center and the Harborplace festival marketplace mall. This mall, it was sad to see it in decline this year. Lots of empty spaces, this place should be rocking! I know everyone loves chain restaurants there are plenty around the harbor. Did you know there is a Little Italy in the area? There are lots of places to walk and explore, enjoy the sunny weather and waterfront. I've been coming here every year since my kids were babies (Now they drive) its a great family area. Enjoy! read more

It is still beautiful with very scenic views of boats and ships big and small, street musicians to entertain you, shopping, restaurants, the cool water taxi fleet, and all sorts of attractions in close proximity. I noticed a distinct increase in things that cost the Inner Harbor that fifth star. A lot more vagrants, panhandlers, and poor souls who walk around muttering or talking to themselves. I understand this is a city, but here's a question. If the Inner Harbor is Baltimore's Crown Jewel of tourism, where is the effort to control things? I walked around here for 4 1/2 days and didn't see a cop once. That was disturbing to me. read more

I had not been to the Baltimore Inner Harbor in a minute, so it was nice to go there on a Friday afternoon. We lucked up on a parking space on the street, which was great. It was the weekend of the Army/Navy football game, so the area was crowded with service personnel and others alike. As we walked around, we saw the military ships that came in for the weekend and we were in awe of the ice rink that was located at the pavillions located on Pratt and Light St. It was sad to see so many businesses that were no longer in the pavillion, but it was nice to see new ones (i.e. H&M). All in all, a nice stroll through the pavillions on a crisp, sunny afternoon. read more

If you are in Baltimore, you should visit Baltimore's inner harbor for a great time. Tons of wonderful restaurants abound in here. On top of that you have amazing things to experience from cruises of the harbor to tours of museum ships like a coast guard ship which survived Pearl Harbor, a replica Viking ship or the USS Constellation which when it was built in 1854 was the last commissioned sailboat in the US navy. Super cool! Again plenty of bars, restaurants and attractions. It's a shame I was only in Baltimore a short time as I didn't get to explore much of the inner harbor as I wanted to. More solemnly, though, I did find that the inner harbor has a 9/11 Memorial. I actually had no idea this existed...and as I was out exploring on the anniversary of those terrible attacks this year I found it. According to its website: "Inspired by an artifact from New York's World Trade Center - three, 22-foot-long twisted and torn amalgamated steel columns from the Twin Towers. The memorial provides a place of contemplation and a site to remember and to reflect upon the events of September 11, 2001 while paying tribute to the 69 Marylanders who lost their lives that day. Each year on September 11, the Baltimore's World Trade Center will act as sundial to mark the chronological inscriptions of the events that tragic day." It really was a powerful reminder about that terrible day in our recent history. I remembered where I was on that day and all the sacrifices and changes our country had to make and go through. This is also certainly another reason to come to the harbor especially on an anniversary of such a terrible day. read more

The place to be when in BMore, whether as a tourist or near by resident. The Harbor offers so many aspects of fun...attractions, water rides, history lessons, hotels, boutiques, restaurants & live music. On certain weekends, you can catch street vendors/straw markets. For the water experience, you can choose from different cruises, along the inner harbor or beyond on the Big Red Boat, narrated excursions & a nightlife cruise on Saturdays. For top tier views, the World Trade Center offers a beautiful city-line from the 27th floor aka 'Observation Level'. For the children, the Port Discovery Children's Museum, Ripley's Believe It Or Not & the Aquarium will keep them occupied for hours...even for the adults too. The Gallery outside of the harbor, offers stores like Michael Kors, Bath & Bodyworks, Johnston & Murphy to name a few. As far as satisfying your palate, you got options for days, seafood galore, Asian, Hawaiian, Tex-Mex, to good ol' fast food spots & ice cream/frozen yogurt, with the benefit of nice boardwalk views. You can easily walk from the harbor to Camden Yards & the Raven's stadium. If you don't feel like walking, take a water taxi to the other close sites such as Fort McHenry. OK, the only negative thing is parking. Baltimore is a big city with a lot of businesses and a lot of tourists, so you will probably spend at least $20 to park in a garage near Inner Harbor if you spend more than 4 hours here. And, if you have not been here before, you definitely will spend more than 4 hours. You might start at the Visitor's Center, 401 Light St., right on the water (they have a free short-term lot). There you can get ideas on attractions in the area: National Aquarium, Science Center, American visionary art museum, Ripley's Believe it or not, Top of the World (World Trade Center), four historic ships in the harbor that one can tour, and boats that cruise around Baltimore. In short, there is something for almost everyone. It all depends on your interest and the weather. Also, there are lots of great places to eat here. Inner Harbor is Baltimore's top tourist attraction. People come because it is a very cool place. read more

Took an afternoon to honor the 50th Anniversary of William Donald Schaefer being elected as Mayor of Baltimore. His statue is a very nice touch to the Inner Harbor. Made a visit to the World Trade Center that opened in 1977 when he was in his 2nd of 4 terms as Mayor of Charm City. It's nice to take a view of downtown and The "Charm'tastic Mile". With Veterans Day coming also wanted to reflect on all those that were lost during all the wars of the country. It is magical, it is expensive, it has an allure that makes you want to come back, it is impossible here to find a place to leave the car. Leave it to the Inner Harbor. The Baltimore Inner Harbor is all that, and more. I have been to the Inner Harbor several times, especially in the last 2 years. Whether it is a walk around the harbor, visiting some of the exhibits on it, or eating at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, it's always a fun memory. Seeing an Orioles game (Camden Yards is really close by), only tops off a memorable visit here. It's also not bad public transportation wise (the real way to get here), or you can take the Metro to Shot Tower, or take the Light Rail to Camden Yards from Penn Station. Either way, it is a treat. You never want to take a place like this for granted. Its like Coney Island. There's a magical feel that comes over you while being on it, and you feel like you're 12 again, with the sights and sounds that overtake the corner of your eye when you've heard cannon fire, or when you finally realize, you're at one of the major cornerstones of American history, the place where Francis Scott Key wrote the "Star Spangled Banner" and major industry was established. Its hard to not get romantic about the Inner Harbor. And its why you should go visit. read more

Bottom Line: Kind of touristy but there is a lot of fun activities and many restaurants to keep the masses coming. Baltimore's Inner Harbor is a fun destination with museums, shops, restaurants and activities. Between parking, eating and activities, it is easy to spend lots of money here but for cheap you can take the Light Rail and be thoroughly entertained by people watching around this shallow leisure port. One of the best activities here is the National Acquarium. This is one of the best, if not the best, aquariums in the country. The Maryland Science Center, including the IMAX theater, are popular too. Walking distance from the Inner Harbor is Federal Hill Park, the American Visionary Art Museum, Oriole Park at Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Ravens. Anchoring the central part of the Inner Harbor is two green-roofed shopping/dining pavilions known as Harborplace. These buildings have a food court, touristy shops and chain restaurants. For me, I find the McCormick spice shop the most interesting since there are some McCormick spices that I can't find in the grocery store and it represents so,etching uniquely Maryland. Across Pratt Street the chain restaurants continue, some of which are very expensive like Fogo De Chao and Capital Grill. My personal favorite is locally owned Miss Shirley's Cafe. read more

The Inner Harbor is absolutely beautiful. It reminded me of my hometown San Francisco with the historic boats, the beautiful waterfront and shops. The guy playing music and singing along for tips, kids running around and touristy like shops. We were lucky enough to stay close to the Inner Harbor, it's an easy way to get around the city. Everything was within walking distance to the Inner Harbor area. Although I only heard about the Water Taxi on the last day, it's the best way to get around the Harbor and visit all the neighborhoods. It's also a great place to picnic with your sweetheart. Just pick up a few surprises for lunch and head down to watch the views, boats and people go by. read more
