The only thing is some of the hints and puzzles were hard to see and or figure out because of either wear and tear or just the way it was structured. Things being rubbed off and the flashlights not being bright enough. Major Con: The only thing I don't like is all experiences most likely will be shared. I get it from a money aspect but you should be able to have an option for a private experience and pay a little extra instead of having to pay for all 8 spots. There are 6 different rooms to choose from. Each room has a different theme and it's a good idea to pre book and good with a group. It's a public room so anyone can join the room before it starts. Reserved our time slot on their website the day before and the whole process was easy and straightforward. For reference I booked Thursday night for the next evening, Friday a 7 PM session. I was nervous the place would be sold out but they had about 4 rooms available Opted for the "Witches Revenge" which is their hardest room. We found parking on the side road but I can definitely see how it can be challenging in this area. Upon entering, we were greeted right away by a very friendly gentleman who explained what to expect and encouraged everyone to use the restroom since we had a couple of minutes to spare, and the session would be 1 hour. They also have a blank wall with props where you can take pictures before or after showing off your escape room experience. It was a little scary, but super fun. Definitely complicated but thankfully the staff is watching from afar and are there when you need help and will communicate with you while you're in the room. Can't wait to return and try a different room.

We did the "Lost in Space" escape room with two people and escaped with about 15 minutes left. The room was nonlinear, which I liked. This means that there are multiple things to do at once so it is less likely for you to have everyone stuck at a bottleneck with one unsolved puzzle. The decor of the room was very nice and they did a good job setting it up to look like the inside of a spaceship. There was no real introduction to the room - the introduction was that we were taken into the room and told not to touch the orange dots. We also actually legitimately escaped the room leaving a whole set of puzzles unsolved. And there was also one point where we solved a puzzle and it gave us a sheet explaining/hinting how to solve a different puzzle that we had already completed. There were also keys that fit into and unlocked multiple keyholes. All of these things add to confusion and should not be possible. We told the puzzlemaster we only wanted three total hints. We only actually asked for one but we were given five, probably because the puzzlemaster noticed how we were confused by these things. So as not to spoil anything, some of the puzzles required very difficult insights and others required you to fiddle around in one location for quite awhile. Our puzzlemaster agreed that one of the puzzles she tried to solve on her own and it took her a good thirty minutes (even knowing what she was supposed to be doing). The process by which to find and enter the building was thematic but felt excessive. Our puzzlemaster seemed to agree because she texted us a picture of the door we were supposed to enter prior to the escape room.

The two of us finished with a few minutes left. It does feel a little low budget. The rooms are on the second floor in what feels like an office building. The intro to the room was given by the puzzlemaster himself with the best of his acting ability. But the mechanics were pretty cool and unique. It also was not strictly linear, meaning you did not necessarily need to solve all of the puzzles in order, which I liked. You have unlimited hints, and the puzzlemaster sometimes just gives you hints if it seems like you are stuck. One unlocking mechanism malfunctioned while we were in the room, so the puzzlemaster had to kick us out for a minute and fix it. The ending (no spoilers!) felt somewhat anticlimatic. But all-in-all it was pretty fun. There are not all that many escape rooms in Northern Jersey, so we will likely be back to try the other rooms.

Parts of the rooms do seem a bit dated, and there were certain puzzles that did not make much sense to us even after we solved them. That being said, I think overall they were well thought out and enjoyable to work through. I'm still not sure which room I enjoyed more. I think the laboratory had more interesting puzzles to me, and the penitentiary had a lot of moving parts/puzzles that made it a bit confusing in terms of chronology, but that's a part of the fun of a lot of escape rooms. I would come again if I'm in the area, and look forward to future improvements under the new ownership.

The escape rooms here at OMEscape are very fun, challenging, and a unique activity for a night out. You get 70 minutes to try to escape, and are able to ask for hints if you get stuck. This is one of the more intricate escape rooms that I have done, with unique puzzles that you probably have never seen before. Matt is very funny and plays a good character, and definitely makes the escape room experience way more enjoyable. The price is very worth it as you get 70 mins to escape, while most other rooms I've seen only give 60. There are multiple different rooms to try, so I know if I come back I will get an entirely new experience. Looking forward to coming back here when in NYC!
