Looking for something new to try, I found myself at Bama Burgers. As I entered I was asked if I wanted breakfast or lunch (11:00 am). I let them know lunch which determined which menu I received. Taking a seat anywhere I wanted the waitress was at my table really quick. Gave her my drink order (Sweet tea - really was on the bland side as far as sweet tea goes). Overall look and feel of the place is classic diner. She came back by a few minutes later and let me know that my burger would be out in a minute. Bacon, cheese burger with lettuce and onion with a side of onion rings. (Note: Burger prices don't include a side, you have to order those from the sides menu - additional $1.99 to $2.99). Onion rings are very reminiscent of what you would have if you made homemade onion rings. Nothing special or fancy or added to the batter, but fried to a good golden crispness, just a little burned on a few. The burger though, I really wasn't impressed. When I picked it up the bottom bun was so soggy it just smeared into my hands. Actually ended up removing 50% plus of the bun. The patty was really ok at best, it had a little 'special seasoning' but it really just didn't work for me. While I was eating the waitress let me know that she would be right back to top off my drink (almost empty), however she never returned to my table, so ended up without something to drink for the last part of the meal. I had wanted to try this place for awhile so maybe I had built it up too much. Overall, I really wanted to like it here, but it just missed on all aspects for me. To be totally fair, they were about at 50% capacity as far as customers, and several people seemed to be liking their experience (environment and food). So, it may just be that you could like it as well.

I am a burger aficionado and always get excited when a new burger joint opens. 2 recently in Pelham! This place blows the other out of the water. You walk in and see them pressing fresh ground beef on a great big flat top, the way it should be! Get the redneck burger! Pimento cheese bacon caramelized onions and and fried green tomato! Amazing ball of calories on a bun! Great owners and a commitment to great fresh food!

    Western omelette

Had the western omelette for breakfast. It was cooked just to my liking. Very fluffy. Coffee was nice and bold. Server was very helpful and friendly. I'll be back. Price was reasonable.

Bacon cheeseburger with onion and onion rings!

Price was high and food wasn't very good. Tasted like a burger with no seasoning and bread.

The atmosphere is casual and nostalgic, with regular customers coming in and staff who clearly know many of them by name. It has that classic American hot dog stand feel that reflects a long standing Southern food culture. I ordered a classic hot dog with chili and mustard, fries, and a drink. The food was simple, affordable, and filling. From a public health perspective, this type of restaurant represents traditional comfort food that is high in sodium and processed meats, which we know can contribute to chronic disease when eaten frequently. However, it also plays an important role in community identity and accessibility. The prices are reasonable, making it an option for people looking for a quick, inexpensive meal. Overall, Tony's reflects how cuisine culture is not just about nutrition, but also about tradition, affordability, and local history. It was a solid experience and a good example of how food connects people in a community.

Just a tiny, iconic hole in the wall that exists for one reason: to serve hot dogs that mean business. When you walk in, you already know you're not here for the décor. You're here because you're craving a hot dog and you want it done right. I ordered the Chicago dog, which showed up looking like it had zero intention of fitting politely inside its bun. This thing was juicy, oversized, and required a concerning amount of napkins. The pickles were crisp, the peppers had the right bite, the mustard was exactly what it should be. Everything hit. The only thing missing was that neon green relish that looks radioactive but somehow makes a Chicago dog official. I kind of missed it. A little. Then I got adventurous. Mistake number one. I ordered the Beef Sandwich, what I can only describe as a sloppy joe with a pickle on top. It sounded bold. It tasted... fine. Not terrible. Not memorable. Just sort of there. It's like I betrayed the hot dog gods and they let me know. My colleague went with the burger, which Tony's is apparently campaigning as "best of" material with the local news crowd. He said it was decent and a great value. High praise in burger language. Now the onion rings? Absolute perfection. Crispy, golden, and cooked exactly the way onion rings should be cooked. No notes. If I had stuck strictly to the hot dogs, this would've been an easy five-star situation. But I strayed. That's on me. Four stars. Next time, I'm staying loyal to the dogs.
