As "regulars" here, I'd like to share that the consistency in quality of food has never fallen short for us, which is something I've rarely experienced in the restaurant industry. Also, to note, some reviews have complained of the "yelling" being stressful. This is by far the best Chinese food in Michigan, whoever is posting about bland food and not having flavor has broken taste buds. And if you're not prepared to wait for the best Chinese food on the planet then shame on you for not realizing they are busy for a reason, because it's that good! I've been coming to Bamboo Gardens for over 20 years and they treat me like a friend every time I go in there and the food is always consistent! I have actually tried every other Chinese joint in town and they don't even come close to the quality or taste of food. You can even order extra meat by the dollar for whatever portion you get. Liked the food here so I thought I'd try something new, "House Special S", Szechuan Bean Curd. Ordered extra spicy. Picked up the order and drove home and opened the package...to find out there wasn't ANY bean curd in it. Didn't feel like driving back again so I started the meal. Bamboo Gardens is a place we order from a couple times a month. So yummy. We often get the sweet and sour chicken and general tso's chicken. Have also had the sesame chicken. We normally get the combination plates. All very good and generous portions. read more

I've always been a fan of this restaurant but for some reason they won't ever give us any hot mustard packets. So weird. Tonight we picked up food and asked for some mustard and the woman who is always there tossed two in the bag, threw her hands up and yelled, "we're out!" Clearly this isn't true. We always order to go from here. It's always very fast and ready when we get there. Sweet and sour chick is always delicious. Seafood rangoons are my personal favorite and are killer. I absolutely love their food. Mon-Sat they offer $5 lunch combos. Tonight we ordered take out and they were phenomenal and in such huge dinner portions. The potstickers are especially out of this world, the lo mein, sweet & sour chicken, egg drop soup and the orange beef were just AMAZING. Came up to about $35 and worth every penny. Over charged again!!! I order a #18 small . I got general tsos chicken not what I asked for. She said there is there's a lunch 18 which is the Tsos chicken , how ever it was after 6pm when i called and I said a small this item I received is a combo , one size. And its wasn't lunch. I also orders an egg roll- I revived two more total 3. And wonton soup mixed small. I got a large. This keeps happening I come here 3 -4 times a month. At first I felt well It was a mistake and let it go , few more times it happens then I called to tell them there mistake, now I complain online, I can't be the only one. These over charges was with my credit card. The women did offer to correct the mistake however my husband picked it up and the messed up order wasn't realized until he came home . and yo tied to back for them to get it right !! ,I'm not going back here again . ill use the House of Hsu for now on. This was obvious over charged, but over and over . I'm so done with u!!!. Worst Chinese food I've ever had. The flavor was bland and tasted like it just came out of a freezer that it sat in too long.

Many of us were vegetarian. We had a ginger and garlic vegetable stirfry. We asked about vegetarian egg foo young. The waitress and they're very rough blunt voice said, "we know have that at lunch". I asked if the eggrolls had meat in them and she said "yes, we have meat in those." The next person asked if they had spring rolls that were vegetarian and she said, "yes". Not sure why she could not have let me know that. Somebody else had something with mushrooms in it and another person had a combination. The food tasted very good and it was nice and fresh. We were very surprised at how rough the waitress was with us. The spring rolls were great. Just her personality I assume, as everyone was respectable in our group. When we got our bills, we waited 20 minutes without seeing our waitress. We finally decided that maybe we were to pay as we left. That was the case. read more

Their food is amazing, every time I am so satisfied. We have eaten there at least 25 times, and I haven't been displeased yet. Everything is fresh daily and you can taste it. Their spring rolls are better than any I've ever had, they redefined spring roll, and they are so cheap you have to get 10. My wife orders vegetarian food, and after years of eating there, we have never found a single piece of meat in her food, unlike the other chinese places in town, that are usually like 50/50. No kidding they cook like anything in 10 minutes, and I think the longest I've ever been told was 20 minutes, and that was in prime time dinner hour on a saturday night. Was driving through town and stopped at this place for lunch--large menu, quick service. This is more of a take-out than a dine-in location (we ate in). Their lunch portions are generous for the price, and I was sufficiently full after; some of the best sesame chicken I have ever had. The fried rice was nothing exceptional, but it was still really good. My only true complaint about this is that they do not provide water if you're dining in; if you do not select the menu option with a soda/pop with your drink, you do not get a drink. (Options are soup and meal, or soda and meal.) I had asked for a cup of water but wasn't given any, which was a little disappointing. Extensive menu. Very clean. Efficient family service. Two small tables to eat in; set up for take out. Flavorful, fresh ingredients cooked to order so the wait was about 20 min at 5 pm with 6 people ahead of me. Dumplings have a nice homemade tender dough; not the thin won ton wrappers used by some places. The filling is tasty and substantial. The classic soy dipping sauce has a nice punch of ginger, as it should. The pork chow mein with crispy squares of "noodle" was loaded with tender roast pork strips and vegetables in a subtle but tasty thin sauce. The Moo Goo Gui Pan had crisp cooked vegetable, velvety tendy white chicken and a lovely translucent sauce. The Sesame chicken, ordered extra spicy was a perfect balance of sweet and heat. I'll pas on the egg rolls next time; chewy tough and too "cabbagie" for my taste. So glad to find this place and looking forward to trying more dishes. read more
