Ordered food and was told it would be about 15 minutes....... 45mins-1hr later the food was done! Annoyed, I was just hoping the time waiting for the food would be worth it. NOPE! Very disappointed in everything we got. The general tso's shrimp was so sour! The lo mein just tasted like celery. The sesame chicken was just horrible. The fried chicken tasted old and rotten. We ordered from here last night. We didn't feel like taking our toddlers out in the cold and slushy roads. So we found somewhere we could get delivery from. Here is what we ordered: Fried cheese wonton. - Chewey, not much flavor Steamed pork wontons with garlic chile oil - wontons were ok, filling was bland, the oil was good Pork fried rice. - it was okay Crispy milky fried shrimp - aside from the actual flavor of the shrimp, the coating was not very flavorful House special steamed pork - the flavor was very good, but the meat to fat ratio was terrible. It was basically 3/4 fat, 1/4 actual meat. Double cooked pork. - wasn't bad, wasn't good either Sweet potato pancakes - the best way to describe this is.... Your eating a mushy consistency w sesame seeds, you get the tiniest bit of sweetness at the end. Also If you do order delivery or take-out from them, just call. We tried using the online ordering, it resulted in 3 call backs from them. First was to confirm our order. Second was to confirm our order since the first guy didn't tell the second girl. Third time was to get our CC number, again, after we did it through their web page. If you are going to offer the online ordering and paying options, you should really make sure it fully works. The food is not bad. But if you are expecting any hint of customer service. .....you can forget it!!! I went for lunch with a co-worker and ordered shrimp pad thai. Normally I would order take out, and mostly food with chicken. So the shrimp pad thai was a first. To my surprise, the shrimp were really tiny...the kind that probably come out of a can...THAT tiny! And there were literally around 5 pieces. When I asked the waitress about the quality...she snapped at me telling me that the owner is not making any money from lunch, especially since there is soup AND a lunch portion. So I let it go.....but I did not appreciate how rude she was. Then, she starts talking reallllyyyy loud with the other waitress. We could hear their conversation more than our own. Well, it got worse.... my co-worker paid the bill and decided not to leave a big tip, since the waitress was so rude. The waitress comes back to the table and is furious that the top is not to her liking. She literally started yelling to give her more money, and that next time we should not come to the restaurant. ...instead, we should just order take out. Decided to give Bamboo another try hoping that they would have fixed there flaws. We ordered off their American Chinese menu and once again were very disappointed. The food was below par and just not very appetizing. We ordered the sesame chicken and chicken with broccoli. The chicken seemed low quality and had a weird taste. This place is not for people who are looking for traditional American Chinese. The chicken and broccoli I ordered had a red sauce (it's typically brown) and it was pretty spicy. This is my go to dish and I've never had an issue with spiciness before. The same sauce was used for the dumplings (also used to a soy sauce). Maybe it's the Szechuan factor? MONGOLIAN BEEF!! My favorite Chinese food place I've ever eaten at. The Mongolian beef dish is the best I've ever had from any place. The beef with the onions and the sauce is really good. Their lo mein is also very good. Have eaten here twice but have gotten take out about a dozen times. The staff are so friendly. One of the women who work here told us that her English is not that good but she really tried to talk to us and make conversation which was really cute. She had another woman standing next to her helping her along the way which was funny. But overall a very good experience with great food and wonderful people helping you....but no beer :( read more

This place is authentic, that's "real deal" in the vernacular. I was recommended to try this place by a Chinese couple from Shanghai. They said it was a good Szechwan restaurant; they're right. They offer a few dishes that may be for Asians "only" but they offer plenty of popular and familiar dishes. We've been trying to find a decent Chinese place for takeout since we moved to the area. This place has pretty good ratings, and a co-worker of my wife recommended it. We called and asked if they deliver. They said (in VERY broken English) "yes, but you need to order online". So, we did. About 40 minutes after placing the order online we get a phone call from someone with almost zero grasp of the English language (but, what do you expect from a Chinese restaurant?). After 5 minutes on the phone with them we were finally able to put together that they were not going to be delivering our order. We would need to come in to pick it up ourselves.... and we would need to wait another 35 minutes before we should go to pick it up. Against my better judgement, we agreed to go get it. My wife picks it up and brings home. Unpacking the bag, we notice half our order is missing. Back on the phone I go. More non-speaking English people handling the phones. My call gets handed off to 3 more people until I get someone who vaguely understands the situation. I explain my displeasure and asked them to send someone to deliver the missing items, as we were not going back to pickup. I was told it would be about 40 minutes. At this point I was just like "whatever". I didn't really expect someone to show. So we sit down to eat the items that we did receive. THIS WAS SOME OF THE MOST BLAND, FLAVORLESS CHINESE FOOD WE'VE EVER EATEN! As we're finishing up, the phone rings (more non-English). We're finally able to piece together that it was the delivery driver who didn't know the address of where he was supposed to be out delivering to. Have you ever tried to give driving directions on the phone to someone who doesn't understand English? UGHHH! Long story short, we'll never be patronizing this establishment ever again. read more

Our second time there I asked what a couple of the authentic dishes were and our server explained them to me and encouraged me to try one. This restaurant went worse and worse. I live pretty far away from Bamboo, 1 hour drive one way, but still come to dine in every 2-3 weeks. The quality of their food is getting worse each time recently, as well as the quantity. A couple weeks ago the server pushed us to order their Beijing duck, saying we came in many times but never tried it, which was super good. However, the duck was just greasy and tasteless, with a super sweet source, no one at our table liked it, not to mention it was over priced. Yesterday when we came in, the same server suggested us to order their special fish, which is not even on their formal menu, and the price is $27. I didn't follow her suggestion, due to last time's not very enjoyable experience, and she seemed upset. Then one of our entrees, called Flavored Pig Feet turned out into a dish with 1/3 or less pig feet and 2/3 and over green and red peppers, and charged $16... Very disappointed and complained to the owner as a long term customer, but she didn't seem really care. Well, you lost our loyalty, as you wish. read more

A 6pm visit on a Sunday niight turned out to be an unmitigated disaster as the staff figured out how to seat our party of 6. Work in the area and decided to try it for lunch one day. The waiter did not speak or understand a word of English, but that really doesn't matter. He served me my food, immediately which was the general tso's chiken and it was DISCUSTING!! Absolutely THE WORST that I have ever had. the chicken was extremely fatty and the sauce did not taste right at all. I decided to bring home the food and have my husband try it to see if it was just me. After paying the check, the waiter and the cashier did not want to give me my take-out leftovers. They both said at the same time, "No tip??" I told them to look over at the table and they did and saw that I left money for a tip. Bamboo has pretty good Szechuan-style food! The food is appropriately spicy and numbing so I can't help but eat more; that flavor combination is so addicting! I came with my grandparents and family and we left satisfied and full. The crispy spicy chicken was really delicious and I couldn't stop eating it! The eggplant dish was also really good. The sweet potato dessert didn't really feel like a dessert; it was more of a sweet breakfast item to me. However, the fried corn and pear dessert is probably the worst thing I have ever eaten - I got it for free based off of the Yelp check-in and I ordered it because of its name so I'm not deducting any stars. BUT WOW...it was definitely the worst dish I have EVER eaten. Imagine corn and pear pieces deep-fried in soggy breadcrumbs and then the top is sprinkled with brown sugar AND sprinkles...bizarre is all I can say. One of the waitresses (non-Chinese) said it was a specialty dessert from the Szechuan province and maybe it is, but seriously?? Corn + pear + colorful sprinkles is probably the least Chinese combination I can think of. The rest of the food is good though; I just won't be ordering that dessert again! read more

China Inn & ZEN (the two former chinese restaurants at this location) were good. Bamboo is NOT!!! I've eaten 3 takeout dishes from them (all from their chinese-american list of dishes) and all of them were terrible. My wife loves her vegetarian dishes from there, but I've told her I will never have another dish from them again. All of my service has been takeout so I can't comment on their dining service. You'd be better off eating fast food chinese from the mall rather than the garbage they are serving. read more
