He was very patient with each question, and he seemed very knowledgeable regarding magnification, range, and special features relative to value. He helped me pick a good pair, and then he showed me some braces and supports of various types that might support my back. I decided on the Copper brand waist support. The store was not so busy at that time, but it still seemed as if he gave me the best service I've had at any sporting goods store--including other Big 5 stores. I have since found that these products were helpful, and I think the help I received was the reason. The cashier was also kind and recommended a breakfast place nearby.

I was very impressed with the staff knowledge of their products without being pushy. I tried the pair that I wanted on, but they didn't have the color I wanted in my size. They gladly checked the Fleet Feet in Santa Cruz to see if they had the color and sure enough they did! I was able to pay for the shoes the same day and they said that in two days I should hear from them that they had the shoes at the Monterey store. Sure enough, on Saturday I got a call and the shoes had arrived. I was out of town, but the employee assured me they would be waiting for me when I arrived. I picked the shoes up tonight after calling to confirm their close time (Yelp says 6 pm, but I called and they actually close at 7 pm). Since I was able to make it after work (score!-I work in Salinas so the original posted 6 pm close time would have been cutting it too close) I got my shoes tonight and ran 3 miles in them. Needless to say, I am very happy with this stores selection, customer service, non-pushy attitude, attentiveness and flexible hours. I will definitely be back next time I need my running shoes. They have a few different…read moretours so make sure you know which one you booked as all start from the same place and (from what I could tell...) same time. Cathy actually texted me the night before to introduce herself and provide a few instructions and tips. A key tip is bring water and a small back pack or fanny pack to put the bottle in. The bikes don't all have baskets and the baskets don't hold things very well. So you might also bring a small bungee cord to keep things "in the basket" should you get a bike with a basket. Check in was a breeze. The most "difficult" part of the whole tour was finding helmets that fit and sizing the bike seats There were 6 in our tour. We left right on time at 10 and got back at 12:45. We stopped multiple times for photo ops and to look at different properties. We even got to walk through the La Playa hotel which is a beautiful property! I loved seeing and learning about the Comstock homes and the fact that the homes in Carmel by the Sea do not have street addresses. (They will soon as a new reg has passed that every property now needs a proper address... Not just a name.) All in all, I had a wonderful time and enjoyed the tour very much. I don't ride bikes often anymore as an adult and this was the first time riding an E-Bike. The learning curve is easy once you know the difference between Eco, Sport and Turbo. I enjoyed it and it made the tour almost effortless. Highly recommend Mad Dogs! Note....the coffee shop is just up around the corner. You cannot access it directly from the bike shop.

Our dog was safe and secured in his cart. i do suggest having a harness to clip! we went on a calm tuesday morning and we ended up having a private tour without other guests with us so that was lucky! thank you noah!
