But, to be bluntly transparent about this, even though my activities fit The Columbia Lifestyle, my girth prevents me from fitting most of The Columbia Clothing. Still, some of the garments are more amply proportioned than the marked sizing would suggest, so I have the two sweaters to show for my repeated efforts to find more gear. I nearly bought gloves yesterday, just because they fit. I did buy another pair of Columbia shoes yesterday, though. But from a oligarchy-compliant online retailer, not from the local store in Monterey. Why? Because I was able to try on the right size, though not (for my preferences) in the right color. The right color was available, but not in my size. And special orders are not possible, reportedly, from the local store. So, we funded a little more fuel for the rich man's rocket. But for whatever disappointment there could have been, yesterday's twenty minutes in the Monterey Columbia store was one of the better shopping experiences I've had in quite a while. Even though the eventual sale was clearly going to be made outside the local brick-and-mortar, Store Manager Sam made sure we were able to confirm the right size for the right color so that we could order online (from someone other than Columbia, since the rocket-owner ships to us for free) with relative confidence. We'll be back to see what fits in the future. Make that "the near future." Those gloves were pretty nice.

I went in looking for a vest but bought a jacket. I got the Heavenly Hooded Jacket in black. It's like a puffer jacket but sleek not bulky, light weight but very warm, special thermal lining, with sleeve inserts that you insert your thumb on like fingerless gloves but can be worn like normal sleeves. Yes it was costly but I will get plenty of use out of it. I wore it horseback riding today. I haven't bought a parka coat since 2000. I'm hopeful this jacket lasts as long as my Lands End parks has.

And lastly, i returned for a 1911; and thanks to stephen and the cool girl who also runs her own outdoors business (which is super impressive); i got my second SIG in .45acp. I am extremely happy with every one of my purchases and always leave in a good mood. (Which is a sign of good service) As a seasoned salesman and manager i know you sometimes have to save the client from their blowing their money on both cheap OR overpriced junk, and direct the towards proper QUALITY for their budget. Not sure if they are Patagonia's or the mall's restrooms. Open 7 days a week from 10am to 6pm; and on Sundays from 11am to 5pm. Service - Self service. Price - Above average, but that is the cost for quality (and service). Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1973. And thank you for also giving 1% to not-for-profit workers "to defend the earth." And having programs that raise awareness of environmental and social issues. My favorite program is Worn Wear. You can either sell Patagonia your used clothes or trade them in so they can fix it. I believe that reusing is better than recycling. Furthermore, they give you credit ranging from $15 to $150.

He claimed their policy showed this but when he read it the policy clearly didn't state it had to be neatly boxed. So despite regretfully spending lots of money in the store previously that stops today over a 50 dollar weight bench they could've simply returned to the vendor it was in brand new condition.

It carries mostly second-hand stuff, but it has the batter baton, the military attire (I did not know the army olive green shirt is this tough!), even the sniper suit! Then the outdoor stuff, including military dry meals packs loaded with protein! The prices are reasonable, those pilot jackets are only 60 bucks! I asked the staff where they got the military stuff, he said years of accumulations as well as government offloading. They gave an informational overview of where to paddle to see wildlife as well as other recommendations and safety tips. They provide life jackets, waterproof jackets and pants which were great too keep water off your clothes. There are porto potties available if you need to use the facilities. The staff were well very nice and helpful. The main con of our trip was the two person top sitting kayak we were on seemed to have problems with steering. No matter how hard we tried to turn right, the kayak always tended to veer the other direction which was frustrating. We got another kayak to check if they saw anything wrong visually on the water, but they couldn't see anything so maybe there was something going on with the underside of the kayak. Besides that, we had a nice time on the water and were able to enjoy seeing all the birds and cute otters and seals out and about. Later in the morning and early afternoon we even got to see the otters get more active and go diving for mud worms that looked like bright orange cigars. It was super cute seeing the otters sleeping nested in the kelp too. Try not to disturb them though since they need to conserve energy to stay warm! We unfortunately saw one tour group led by a guide that went right next to a sleeping pod of otters and woke them all up. Overall, fun place to go kayaking with wildlife! Glad we went on this trip here!
