There are lots of black and white photos of boats and ships, all in Poole harbour, and some of them are very old. I had a half of Ringwood 49er - sorry ale lovers, I can't do it! I want my bacardi and coke! Found it just too filling and not the right taste for me - it's beer. More like German bier though. I'll certainly be back to try some of the food. So I can't tell you what the usual staff are like. A very pleasant experience, but not a must do. I would have the chowder again, certainly and happily. Worth visiting, if you're in the area.

Dogs are often in the pub and it's a bit smelly and grubby. The menu is good though and the service is good and comes with a smile. Its clear one of those 'locals' pubs but new visitors are welcome. Unless you know the statue is there, you can walk by without noticing! What a shame. Also, the statue is black and feels like some sort of resin. Since Poole is where it is, one would have thought Purbeck stone was more appropriate, and certainly more noticeable. I happen to know this statue cost hundreds of thousands of pounds. How sad that it is barely noticeable, and has no plaque or epithet. I think it's ended up being more of an insult than a tribute! The Scouts were started on Brownsea Island in 1908, and a jamboree was held there earlier this year. Scouts came from all over the world. For some reason, Prince William went to another one elsewhere in the Uk - I don't think Brownsea has a helipad. Very disappointing.

I've been in here lots of times for coffee, hot chocolate or drinks. They do these well, if not fantastically. This year I had three meals here. A fairly pleasant lunch, an awful evening meal and a complimentary evening meal to make up for the first one. So the service is hit and miss, it seems. The last meal there was great but they were doing their best to compensate for the one before. They were almost falling over themselves to make us have a great experience. The staff are pleasant enough, just a bit dingy from time to time. We had been left waiting for ages during our first evening meal... Mint is a café bar spread across two levels the ground floor being more up tempo and containing the reasonably sized dance floor and the upstairs housing a more chilled out Moroccan themed lounging area and the communal toilets. The décor is lovely and there is a good variety of seating, however this said it does get busy at weekends so expect a short wait for the bar. Mint was recently taken over and is now under new management and prices have dropped dramatically where as it used to be around £3.50 a drink they now have plenty of offers such as £1.50 all drinks and free shots etc (and we all know in this time at the moment the savings help) The music is modern with guest DJ's and special guest its best to check the website to see what's going on and when. Opening is to around 4am and there is a taxi rank right outside for those in need of a ride home. Set on the quay what more could you ask forGive it a try.
