When visiting a new Thai restaurant, I have a benchmark meal: Green curry. If the restaurant can make a good green curry that isn't oily, tasteless, and/or gritty, then very likely the rest of their food is good too. Like before, I ordered green curry. I was not disappointed. In fact, this was one of the best green curries I have EVER had. Based on this one dish, I can give a thumbs up to this restaurant. I plan to visit again soon. read more

This is a surprising hidden gem in Kitchener, located in a small plaza and easily overlooked from the street. A local friend brought up the place and we decided to go for an impromptu dinner on a Saturday night for a party of seven. The restaurant is small and decor is simple, but it is clean, still modern, and welcoming. The menu features classic Thai dishes from appetizers, noodles, curries, to dessert. Most noodles and curries are one price with choice of meat or veggie toppings, and seafood at an additional cost. Spice level ranges from no spice to "top of the line" (in between levels welcome), with medium comparable to hot elsewhere. I tried the peanut curry noodles with chicken at a mild minus spice level, which featured rice noodles with a Thai peanut sauce with coconut, topped with ground peanuts and bean sprouts, and a slight spice kick. There was lots of noodle and lots of sauce - it reminded me of a cream sauce with spaghetti pasta. It reminded me a bit of mac n cheese because of the sauce flavour and thickness, but in a good way. I don't know about authenticity, but it was flavourful and tasty, offering good texture variety between the noodle, peanuts, and bean sprouts. The coconut and peanut sauce flavours stood out to me at a reasonable balance and didn't overpower the dish. The spice level fit me perfectly, I imagine the typical spice eater will find the mild to medium range to be the ideal sweet spot. The portion was also great value for money. For my friends, they ordered pad thai, curry noodles, and the Thai peanut noodles, and all of them looked to be some variation of rice noodles in a sauce at a varying spice level. The curry noodles were a bit salty, the Thai peanut was similar to my peanut curry, and the pad thai was generic (though definitely not the bright red westernized rendition). Everybody enjoyed the food and the flavours, though really we all got essentially the same thing. Overall, service was a bit slow at first as there's limited staff, but still tolerable and very friendly. They made sure to keep glasses filled with water, and were timely in checking up on needs. Definitely somewhere I'd return to for more authentic Thai food in Kitchener, but nothing stood out to me as a five-star wow factor. read more

Biggest problem: so so so so salty... I chugged 3 glasses of water after eating the Bangkok fried rice and Pad sew, which were both so salty. I wanted to throw up after... It is that feeling you get if you accidentally ate 3 spoonfuls of pure msg.... Threw the rest of the food in the trash and really regretted spending the money here as their prices are higher than most Thai Viet places in KW. read more

Probably my favourite restaurant in Kitchener-Waterloo; my go-to when I'm in the region. I'm always surprised that the place isn't busier. The decor is pleasant and the staff are always very warm and friendly. The crab rangoons, "Crab Cheese," are delicious (in spite of the name). They're always hot and fresh, and the cream cheese filling and crispy wonton wrapper complement each other marvellously. The Kow Pad Prik has a lot of flavour (despite the main contents being rice, egg, and broccoli) and is a great option for vegetarians. The Special Duck is phenomenal, and I find myself craving it frequently. That and the Black Bean Red Snapper or Mussels. They are simply divine, with unique but harmonious flavours. The Beef a la Thai, Pattani, Pad See Iew, Pad Gai, and Spicy Calamari are all good too. The only dish I can think of that I wasn't too fond of was the Pad Thai. Super good! Went here based on other reviews. Really enjoyed everything we ordered which included Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai, Green Curry, Fried Rice, 2 kinds of rolls. Prices are fair for the appetizers, a bit on the expensive end for the meals. But the portions are generous, so you can think about sharing. Servers are very nice and attentive. We never had to ask to have our water refilled. Cute restaurant, good flavours, nice staff. If I ever find myself back in Waterloo and craving Thai I'd definitely stop in here. read more

Visited this restaurant with friends, on a recommendation, and we weren't disappointed. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but it's nice enough. The food and service were pretty stellar though. All of us ordered different dishes from pad thai to curry to peanut chicken and we were all equally impressed. Being able to choose the level of spice of your meal (from five or six different levels) was a huge perk and allowed for multiple points of entry, from those who are afraid of spice, like myself, to seasoned world travelers like our friends who ordered their meals HOT. The meals themselves were fairly huge and great value for money. The service was also incredibly prompt, polite, and personable. We were impressed with how quickly our food came. Over priced this is why they do not post prices on their website. Pad thai is pretty bad probably the worst I have had at a restaurant. If the taste had met the price of the noodles then I would of not made this post. Unfortunately its terrible and worth about half of what I paid. read more

Waiting time is long and not worth the $$.Rice noodles are hard as rocks. Seafood combo cost almost $30 with tax however you only got a couple pieces of shrimps(pinky finger size),squid and fake crab meat. won't go back. read more

Delicious Thai!!! Got spice level one below the hottest you can order and it was super spicy!! Hubby's masamun curry was like sugar curry (a good thing lol). Friend's Pad Thai was super good and NOT made with ketchup, thank goodness!! Will for sure return whenever back in town!! read more

Poor and unfriendly service. Calamari was as tough as shoe leather. When dish was returned barely touched server still charged for the bad appetizer. Fryer oil extremely dirty. Too many other run of the mill Thai restaurants to visit. Won't be back! read more

Overall a good experience. We liked the modern decor and the place is clean and well kept (even the washroom). The service staff were really nice and very attentive, unfortunately the kitchen was very slow and we waited over half an hour for our food. They seem to do a lot of takeout. Also what is that constant beeping coming from the kitchen, it sounded like a McDonalds fry timer that just never stopped. We tried the calamari for an appetizer, it was perhaps a touch over done, but we liked the spiciness and the flavour (I think it would be great on the wings too). The noodle curry with chicken was a little disappointing; it had the texture of macaroni and cheese and was more peanut butter flavoured without much curry. I would not get that one again. We also tried the sweet and sour pork with rice, which was excellent. The flavour was perfect and the vegetables were big chunky and fresh. The sauce was great with the rice too. Even with some of the setbacks, this place is still worth checking out. read more

We have only eaten here for take out, so we cannot comment on the dine in experience or how family friendly they are. Extremely slow service: it took more than an hour to get our meals, and barely an acknowledgement of this. My cashew pork dish was swimming in soy sauce, with few other distinguishable flavours. Definitely not worth the trip. read more

Small little place in a plaza off of Weber. Super comfortable spot and the most authentic Thai you'll find in the area. Super good menu - there isn't one thing that we've tried and not liked (they even have duck on their menu!) staff are always friendly, food is fresh and prepared with care. read more
