The Pad Thai was only ok for a signature dish with it tasting of a burnt grill. (maybe increase cleaning cycle?) If there's a competition for the best Thai restaurant on the peninsula, they would be in the top 5. It has a great atmosphere and decor with traditional Thai vibes. The place is clean, and there's plenty of parking. The beef curry is rich with spicy flavors that are balanced and not overwhelming. The orange chicken features large, juicy pieces with a wonderfully citrusy taste. The pad thai was the highlight of the evening, offering a delicious and complex flavor profile with a clean finish. One suggestion: I should have asked for a higher spice level, at least level 2. The service was very friendly and welcoming. Visited on a busy Friday night for dinner for a graduate and this spot is very popular among locals. They give you a nice starter salad with a delicious tangy dressing. All the noodle and rice entrees come out a very big size, honestly enough to share an entree between two people because the 4 of us had leftovers. I had the red curry special pad thai which I recommend trying as opposed to the regular pad thai. One-two of our dishes was actually messed up on protein- chicken instead of beef and the combination fried rice had only 1 shrimp. They give a lot of meat (chicken) for less premium meat options but for seafood options like shrimp you don't get that many. Other than that I would recommend this spot for thai cuisine. read more

Ate here the other day again and loved that the lunch menu included a little salad (good dressing) and a spring roll. My Thai basil chicken had a lot of flavor but was very oily. One of my favorite places that my family has been coming to for years. The food is delicious and the decor really hones in on the "garden" part of the name. There are live plants everywhere, gold statues everywhere, and a huge photo of Elvis meeting with the Thai royal family on the wall! They are very accommodating for all palates - most menu items will allow you to sub in for tofu IN ADDITION TO a full vegetarian menu. My neighbors and I went to Bangkok Garden for lunch on a Wednesday. This was my first visit to the restaurant, and I was happy we chose it. The interior is warm, inviting, and clean with light wood tables for small and larger groups. Lunch started with a a cute plate of salad with ginger sauce and a spring roll. It was a really nice way to start the meal. We ordered the Kao Pad with stir-fried rice and chicken, and I added vegetables. It was delicious. It was lightly seasoned, which was perfect for me. Other dishes we ordered included shrimp or beef with steamed rice and broccoli. The lunch portion was large, and we all had extra to take home. Service was kind, helpful, and efficient, and they have a free parking lot. We will visit Bangkok Garden again. read more

This gem is located on Richmond Ave where pretty much a number of shops and eateries are located. There is ample parking and it was easy enough to find. I came twice to pick up takeout and the hosts were absolutely helpful. I would recommend calling ahead to save the waiting period although it wasn't too much of a wait. Maybe 10-15 minutes at best. The place is beautifully decorated and appeared really clean. Exactly what I would like to be in when dining in. I wish I could have had spare time for that experience. We were there on the night before Thanksgiving. The place is decorated with Thai style elements. The food is really good. I am impressed with the size of the dishes and the drink. We ordered a Tom Yim soup pot, and it is good for four people. We also ordered the Thai Tea, which is really good and about twice as much as what we expected. In general the food is a little spicy but not too much. The service is good. We enjoyed our experience there. read more

Excellent Thai food. My companion and I ordered the chicken coconut soup. You can order a full order or just buy the bowl which is convenient when you only have two people in your party. We are staying at the close by Westgate resort, and they give 10% off to hotel patrons. We ordered a number of dishes - three in total. They had a special on the Pad Thai which was red curry. That was absolutely divine. Also ordered beef laab. I've never eaten Thai food on the East Coast, but this was rated as one of the top venues in Williamsburg. You can ask for any level of spiciness you like. It was really, really good and they did an extra special topping which I have not seen before. This was to sprinkle it was toasted sesame seeds. I also have the pad prick king, with pork. This is one of my favorites with a spicy red sauce, green beans and sliced pork. Just delicious and perfectly done. Highly recommended. My companion also enjoyed the Sapporo beer. read more

My experience was excellent. From the beautiful flowers before you walk in, to the decor and finally, flavorful dishes, I highly recommend this Thai gem. I was craving rad na and saw that they had it in the menu we took a detour to go have dinner. The ambience was great woodwork and very Thailand. They had photos of the old King of Thailand, one with Elvis. We were seated funnily in the Asian section where every table was Asian and on the other side of the restaurant was other Americans because I went to the bathroom on the other side. How strange. We had the wings and satay for the kid, satays were moist but on the bland saide, springs rolls which were crispy. The rad na was disappointing it was not made of fresh wide rice noodles it was hard to pick up with the fork. Bangkok Garden is a very nice place with friendly service and stellar food. The building itself is decorated nicely and is very clean. You would never guess that the building used to be the Kentucky Fried Chicken. It now has a pretty brick exterior and nice woodwork inside. Our waitress on our last visit was sweet. She even offered to move us to a cooler section of the restaurant, although I thought the temperature was fine where we were, so I stayed. It was thoughtful to ask, for sure. The dinner menu is quite large with a wide assortment of dishes. I had two guests with me and we shared a shrimp spring roll appetizer (non-fried), I got the tamarind tofu special that had mixed vegetables in a sweet tamarind sauce, and my other guests got the chicken laab and a pumpkin curry special. All of us were impressed with the quality of the food and the large portion sizes, definitely being a better value than other Thai restaurants we have patronized in the area. The prices are not the cheapest out there, but they are great for what you receive. Bangkok Garden is my go-to Thai restaurant in the area at the moment. I look forward to returning. read more

Loved trying this Thai restaurant while in town for a weekend get away. It's a cute place with wonderful decor. The staff was very nice and attentive, but not over bearing. I started with a fresh roll with chicken. I was happily surprised to see some appetizers you can order by the piece! This is awesome! I wish more places like this offered that. It allowed me to try something new without having to order a shareable app. Both of our noodle dishes were tasty! It came out fast and hot! Burnt my tongue cause I was so excited to dive in. Oh! Also loved the lovely little salad before the meal. Super nice touch and I feel good getting in some greenery before dominating some noodles. Unfortunately it was a let down while visiting Williamsburg because they said they been around since 1988. The decor of the restaurant was nice and that's about it. Having been to Thailand, and tried other Thai restaurants in bigger towns, it was just bad. Not authentic Thai. First, they give you a plain western salad. The vegetables were over cooked, the fish was soggy from the bland sauce. We had to add curry to give some life to these dishes. We felt bad for the locals because there's not many other Asian restaurants to compare. Thai food isn't supposed to be wet, bland without spice. Maybe it was novel when they first open, but like the rest of Williamsburg, that's just history. read more

Stopped by for lunch on my own. Beautiful decor. I ordered soft tofu with veggies and peanut sauce which was listed under stir fries. Waiter advised me that it was a salad. I told him that was fine since it was such a hot day and I was looking for something light. I was brought a small salad with a fried egg roll, which was a nice surprise and then my entree arrived. Nice and clean place, good ambiance. Cute Thai girls. Comprehensive menu. I ordered the chicken in ginger sauce with carrots and snow peas. This dish came with rice. Lots of food. I manged to finish, leaving only some rice. For the price, it's top! I decided to order a couple of other items for takeaway. Calamari and an order of spring rolls. A day after, still good to go! Only blemish would be the parking lot. Not the greatest. Not located within walking distance of the major hotel chains. Will visit again to try something else. read more
