I had a hard time with whether I should give these guys three stars or four. I mean, it's not fancy. It's not super high quality. It's glorified fast food. But... Ultimately, I went with four because what they do, they do pretty well. With four entrees, there were no mistakes. Everything came out really quickly. My kids got the Mac and cheese because, well, they're kids. It seemed pretty decent to me, and they are all of their broccoli, which is a minor win by itself. My wife had the pad Thai: she said that while it wasn't amazing, it was a great deal for the price. I got a salad. Yes, a salad in a noodle place. It was fresh, loaded bit nicely balanced, and had great flavors. The dressing was a little heavy, but that's a personal preference, not a complaint. So this review is coming from someone who's never been to a Noodles & Co before, let alone even know what this place was. So for those who don't know, they specialize in (you guessed it!) noodles, Italian, Asian, and American. The menu isn't large but they offer add-ons to their dishes with meats and sides to create a full meal. For food, I ordered the Steak Stroganoff and the Thai chicken soup side. I know it's weird to combine these two ethnic cuisines but individually, not too bad. The stroganoff was just ok, could have had more meat and sauce but the noodles were pretty good. I actually liked the Thai soup! It tasted like a watered down green curry (in a good way). Also my friend ordered the Wisconsin mac and cheese which was actually very delicious! If I ever find myself at another Noodles & Co, I'll be sure to order that. Now why two stars? First, the food itself with the price (~$12 for my meal) would be about 3.5 stars if I'm feeling generous but the cleanliness of the place was a bit off in my opinion. I found a small bug crawling around in my napkin as I grabbed some from the counter. The forks and utensils were also not the cleanest with small stains and food particles still attached. How you do you mess up noodles? My noodles were under cooked and the meatballs were tough and cold in the middle.

Normally I am a huge Noodles Fan! This one was far off the mark. The young lady at the counter was nice at least. Both my Mac n cheese and my husband's Alfredo montamore were barely sauced. When ordering, I heard the manager 86 the parmesean chicken. Sadly, my mac n cheese arrived without my parm chicken, I then had to wait in line with 3 other complaintants to request my chicken I had paid for. My chicken arrived extremely greasy and about 1/2 the size I usually recieve. Once diving into my noodles, I found at least 3 different noodle styles in my bowl. The food was ok, but really, WHO WANTS TO EAT DRY MAC N CHEESE??? What a disservice to Wisconsin, and as a native Cheesehead, I'm disappointed. UPDATE: I let the manager know my frustrations. At first she was slightly argumentative, citing she had personally put 2 scoops of sauce on ny noodles. She then looked at my pasta and said it did in fact look quite dry. She said the company seems to have changed the cheese sauce, (ok... it was still the same last week??? I know, I ate at one!) She did bring me more sauce, 2 bowl vouchers (!!!!!) But when you're so excited and end up eating some overprice gum balls you begin contemplate what your life is really worth. Not only did my poor mouth have to process the tasteless flavor of Wrigley's pasta but it then had to digest the rubber chicken. And I'm talking about the rubber chicken you use during phys ed class when you play a remix of capture the flag. Noodles and co definitely likes to try to spice it up, my chewy moist cardboard bits were shellacked with old dried tomato paste coated with tasteless spice really invigorating my tastebuds. Looking at the menu there seems to be a lot of variety, however if all this taste like what i ordered then this whole place is MID. I ordered the regular Buffalo Chicken Mac N Cheese something that should be difficult to get wrong. False. The chicken was the only decent part of this dish and i only had like 3 pieces in my whole dish. Besides the sub par food the drinks were good. Two of us got penne rosa with chicken, one got mac and cheese and the other got spaghetti and meatballs. The food was delivered relatively quickly, however none of the food came out hot. It was all lukewarm to cool, which was surprising because they seemed to be turning out dishes fairly quick. I tried one of my grandmas meatballs. As I was chewing, I bit down on something hard. I looked at what is was and it was a piece of bone. A piece of bone in the meatball. This turned me off quite a bit. I'm far from an expert on southeastern Asian food but after dining here twice I am quite pleased. The Thai dish I ate was different from anything I would normally order and I loved it. A slight fast food look to this place but you still receive real silverware and the food is brought out to your table after you order. Gluten-Free/Celiac Review: As a Williamsburg local, I visit the Williamsburg location frequently. The staff is knowledgable and dedicated to ensuring no cross-contamination. Though they can't 100% guarantee it, they do cook GF noodles first in the cookers and always clean when a wheat pasta was cooked if more is needed. I've never gotten sick and do appreciate their attention to making sure it's "allergy aware." The quality of the GF fusilli noodles has honestly been inconsistent (sometimes overcooked, sometimes perfect, sometimes cold), but they do fix if there's a problem. The managers are great people and tend to know my order by heart if they're around! read more
