Simple dining room with table service

Second time back and all the food is wonderfully fresh. It's a real find. They have three locations. Definitely recommend.

    Crab Rangoon
    Karen R.

Came here during the week and my order was ready for carry out. The restaurant is very nice inside. It doesn't have a lot of seating so maybe not great for larger parties but it is very nice inside. I ordered the Chicken pad Thai and added beef. It was good but on the sweeter side. I prefer less sweet but was good! The crab Rangoon was so tasty! I've had this type at another place and I like the small pieces. The order came with about 6 small pieces fried to perfection. The employee and service were very nice and friendly.

    Green Curry with chicken

I've only done take out. I've had the green curry twice and both times was delicious. The beef salad is very good, probably the best I've had in the area. I like that they have lunch specials. Staff is friendly when you come in and order is completed in the time they give you.

I ordered takeout from the location in Dumfries, VA. The place has seating and there were a lot of customers. I ordered KaPow chicken, wonton soup, and spring rolls. The chicken dish was too salty; the wonton soup was good; but, the spring roll was greasy, and not tasty.

Tom Kha Gai (Coconut chicken soup)

The food was pretty good and well portioned. We tried something new and probably should have stuck with something more familiar. We tried the Bangkok Street Spicy noodles. It wasn't very spicy and I wasn't a fan of the flat long noodles. It was still tasty though. We also tried the creamy peanut butter curry and it was ok. Go with the green or red curry which are better. However we have tried the standard lemongrass soup and coconut based soup. Both here were good and flavorful but not as hearty as some other places. Still good though. The service was pretty good and friendly. We did have problems with a couple of gnats that got in due to the cold weather but they were very accommodating and moved us.

Pad Kee Mow (Drunken Noodle) with beef. Super good.

My husband and I just went for dinner yesterday for the first time (we DoorDashed food from here before but never dined in). The service was great! They promptly greeted you right when we walked in and got our table ready very quickly. The staff were friendly and attentive. Everything we ordered was delicious. The Thai beef jerky with hot sauce was BOMB! We will definitely ordered it again. Pad Kee Mao was good. Some restaurants tend to overcook flat noodle, but this one was perfectly cooked. Chicken satay and the sauce was tasty and well-seasoned, but it would be nice if they have the cucumber-vinegar sauce (aa-jaad?) with it. 10/10 will return.

Small establishment with very simple decor but the food is amazing! Very attentive and friendly servers. Highly recommended! I will definitely revisit and even add to my DoorDash favorites.

Bangkok Street Thai makes a fabulous chicken pad Thai that is plentiful and tasty. My order was done right away for pick up at the nicely decorated restaurant.

    Inside spring roll
    Phuong O.

Ordered for pickup, we got the drunken noodle, pad thai, cashew chicken and some spring rolls. 1/5 - Drunken noodles these are by far the worst drunken noodles i have had. They were dried, not enough sauce, noodles were overly cooked so they were broken into pieces. Did not look and taste good. 2/5 - Pad Thai This was a lot better compared to the drunken noodles in terms of flavor but as far as noodles go, it's the same deal. Overly cooked to the point where the noodles are broken into pieces. 4/5 - Cashew Chicken Was the most decent thing out of the stuff we ordered. Tastes more like chinese food than thai. It reminds me of the fire cracker chicken from panda express. Favor is there, chicken could have been a little more crispier but it's not bad. 3/5 - Spring rolls Comes in 3 rolls, it was ok, bigger rolls than most other places, taste wise was ok, nothing special about it. Overall I have had better thai food, was excited to have something new and closer on 234 but it's just meh. I wouldn't trek far for this, only if you're in the area and want to try it.

Went here to try a new Thai place and it didn't disappoint. It's in an easy to get to location. It was easy to order on the phone. Clean inside. I ordered Togo. Spring rolls were yummy but eat the same day unless you have an air fryer to get them crispy again. I got the Pad Thai Thalay it was sooooooo good next time I'll ask for an extra crab. I didn't care for the squid it was a little tough the flavors were soooo good. I will be back

My senses were already tingling with the above characteristics of heaven's food. I definitely was not ready for what I was about to indulge in. The catfish paired with their garlic buffalo fried to perfection, the wings glazed in Vick's special sauce fried to perfection. Mac N Cheese so cheesy and seasoned you can't look at other Mac N Cheese the same. Jasmine rice so good you think an asian made it. Sipping it down with their true sweet tea makes a one two punch of soul flavors. Every order is made on the spot and even with a crowd already forming you know it's worth the wait. Which while you wait they kindly let you listen to some fire music from their speaker. It's safe to say I will be back.

I was a little disappointed at 1st because they wouldn't take my order though IG dm because I didn't want to go order and wait but honestly it was Definity worth the wait because the food taste and texture was top tier even better then a lot of of other soul food restaurant. Update the next day went and got more food on Sunday. Location/ Ambiance 5/5 - Food truck in random parking lot with 1 building that supposed to get turn into the restaurant in couple of months. The truck and seem nice and clean from me looking in. Food 5/5 - Amazing, I couldn't sleep all night because I want more and normally it take me couples of weeks to write review. Deluxe platter 5/5 - $34 One lobster tail, Couple Shrimps and Catfish or Whiting of choice plus 2 side. - Omg heaven in my mouth, the seafood was nice and crispy and thinly coated in crispy batter full of flavors. It honest can feed 2 person the amount you get. It was so good I had to pull over at an empty parking lot. The lobster and Shrimp was cook perfectly and not over cook. The catfish was lovely as well and i love that they use real catfish and not swai fish . Side: Mac cheese 5/5 - perfectly Chessy and cream with right balance of cheese and perfectly al dente macaroni Side: Candie yam 5/5- Sweeten my soul and comforting not overly sweet and went you put in your mouth the aromatic is amazingly Side: Collard Green with turkey 5/5- Fill with savory flavor and Side: Seafood pasta salad 5/5 - Omg it was delicious and actually have crab meat in it not imitation with shrimp. Side: Rasta Pasta 5/5 - This is so good it should be turn into an entree as well. Creamy spice alfredo sauce with penne pasta. It so good even better then cheesecake factory Cajun pasta Side: Cabbage 4.5/5- Amazing buttery flavor cabbage. I am not sure if they over cook it or maybe I reheat for too long because it was a tad bit too soft for me. I like it too not overly over cook, but flavor was on point comforting Turky Chilli $5 - I am not a Chilli girl because I don't like bean but for some reason, the way they make it so good, and they don't put too much bean bit fill with flavor will out being oily Jerk Chicken with 2 side $20- 5/5 Omg i love that they don't use the cheap part of the chicken like drumstick. The wing didn't have grill flavor aroma like you normally get with Jerk chicken but oh the flavor was packing with a hint of spiciness, but the meat was soft and falling of the bone it was amazing with yellow rice. It safe enough for peoples who don't eat spicy. Chicken Curry with 2 side over jasmine rice $20 5/5- Ok this one threw me off the loop went I first open the box. I thought it was curry chicken with potatoes and carrot, but it had chickpea instead. I was nervous it wasn't going to be good but I was truly wrong. It was perfect combo, full with turmeric flavor and chicken boneless meat. It was savory an addicting Banana Pudding $6- I cry eating this in bed it was heavenly perfect bring back memories of ex grandma banana pudding. It was so good and not overly too sweet like magnolia or wegman banana pudding. I hope one day I can ask them to just make me a tray to devour on a weekend. The banana was fresh and a wafer had crunch Lastly, I got lemon cake, it was divine and not overly sweet with great lemony flavor. Overall I hated that I love this place because I was going to start my new year diet. I can't find nothing negative to say about the foods. You can taste the love they put in the cooking to fill the soul. I will probably be coming back every week

First the positives: I ordered the Gyro with fries and really enjoyed it. Not the best Gyro I have ever had, but good. The other three members of my family ordered different chicken dishes and all three were bad. Overall they were very bland. Using a little seasoning during cooking goes a long way. The chicken on the dishes seemed boiled. I guess this is an easy way to get tender chicken, but man does it remove the flavor! My wife's chicken had tendon and grizzle through out. My daughter's Marsala was gross. Seemed to be a Jared gravy. The wait staff really should not be wearing jeans, especially since the dining room seems nice (except for the paper table cloths.). One of the waitresses had ugly tattoos which no one wants to see at a nice place like this. It's a shame. This place has potential, but the food and wait staff drag it down HARD.

As a senior army officer, I value professionalism, discipline, and mutual respect--qualities I unfortunately found entirely lacking in the service provided by my waitress. During my visit, I was subjected to a series of unprofessional behaviors that were both disrespectful and disruptive to the dining environment: Aggressive Mannerisms: The waitress repeatedly slammed dishes and glassware down on my table with unnecessary force. Lack of Discretion: When presenting the check, she loudly yelled out the total amount of the bill in front of other patrons, which was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. Disparate Treatment: I observed her treating other parties with a level of courtesy and attentiveness that was pointedly withheld from me. General Demeanor: Her overall attitude was dismissive and overtly rude throughout the meal. For identification purposes, the server was a female of minority descent, approximately 5 feet tall with a heavy-set build. I have long respected Tun Tavern for its historical significance and its ties to military tradition. However, the treatment I received was inconsistent with the standards of hospitality one would expect from your establishment. I believe it is important for management to be aware of this incident so that it can be addressed through proper training or disciplinary measures. I and my wife chosed to go eat at your establishment, especially with my family service to the United States Marine Corpss (three cousins; retired CSM, SSG (decesased) and enlisted (obligatged tour of duty). I even emailed to museum coordinator and the post. No reply. I seems those especially those people in the Tavern restaurant chose not to show customer service and the mannerisms are were poor among their staff especially the waitress along with the management ignoring the customers. Not bad, but not great either…read more The restaurant's ambience is truly modern and inviting. As someone who resides in Dumfries, this is a very welcome addition to upscale dining, and I was greatly surprised by the decor. I've visited many casinos locally and around the country, including Vegas, Atlantic City, Biloxi, Mississippi, and New Orleans, and I must say this restaurant's decor is on par with many of the other fine-dining restaurants. When I arrived at the restaurant, it was not busy at all. In fact, there were only a few people at the bar and another couple who came in at the same time as us in the dining area. While someone would look at this and be very skeptical, I took it as number one. I was coming on a Sunday night around 5:30. Number two, it may be early for dinner, and number three. I could assure you that my food would come out hot. My server was excellent. The service was terrific, which I had heard was the most mixed part of the experience previously, due to staff turnover and inconsistent service levels for a fine-dining establishment. Akeara was fantastic, I mean, truly remarkable, and coupled with the excellent management and leadership of Veronica Keller, they made the dynamic duo who saved my dining experience. Akeara was very well-versed in the menu and sensitive to dietary restrictions when asked about many of the ways ingredients were prepared. She was invaluable and well-versed in preparation methods, as well as in drink pairings and menu options, to ensure we had a great culinary experience. The food I really enjoyed the calamari. It was fried perfectly. The two dipping sauces were fantastic. The rose salad is absolutely a star on the appetizer menu. I was a little skeptical about the crabcake because the way she described it sounded more like a fried crabcake than a pan-seared one. I think had she mentioned pan-seared, I would have likely gone with a crab cake, but I am certainly not disappointed in the calamari, and again, the salad was phenomenal. The steaks were a different story. I think they marinate the steaks, although I got different answers from the server and the manager when I asked; however, the steaks were a great cut. I saw someone get the bone in Tomahawk, which is presented nicely, hanging from a hook, with the Chef coming out to torch butter over the steak and vegetables beneath. I got the New York strip. It was a very, very lovely piece of meat. The New York strip was severely underseasoned. In fact, I had to ask for steak sauce, which is a cardinal sin of any steak restaurant. I think had they used a little more salt, pepper, and garlic to finish the steak It would've been perfect. The cook was absolutely perfect, medium rare. The seasoning was just off. I also got the risotto and short ribs. The short rib was well seasoned, though so much gravy from the short rib almost covered the entire plate of mushroom risotto. Tasty but just a little disproportionate in presentation. The bread basket was terrific, and the honey butter was nice, though the bread had a slight cheese flavor. It was still a really good combo. The baked potato is by far one of the best values on the menu as a side item. It was large. It was hot and fully loaded. The creamed spinach was a little more cream-cheese-forward, and it seemed like the spinach needed a little something else and seasoning, so it wasn't as bland. The desserts were another story: the toffee cake I thought would look like something I would get at Hell's Kitchen looked more like a very crumbly cornbread with ice cream on top. The vanilla ice cream tasted great, but the cake was just OK. The crème brûlée was on another level. It was fantastic, creamy, full of vanilla, and had a great crunch from the Brulé sugar on top. What really made this meal so good was the service. I talked with my server about my dissatisfaction with the two lobster tails: I did not appreciate being told they were pulled from the lobster shell, and they were served cold and rubbery. The server immediately jumped into action, spoke with the manager, and had the lobster removed from the bill. Thank you so much. But what really impressed me was the time that both the manager and my server spent at the table. Veronica was truly a pleasure to meet. As a military officer who has commanded hundreds and been responsible for thousands, she really hit it out of the park with her ability to problem-solve and immediately address issues as they arose. She was very engaging and really a pleasure to be with. This dynamic duo, who've only worked at this location for less than 5 months combined, really made me say I will come back to the restaurant, assuming they may have had an off night with seasoning and timing in the kitchen. If there's anything to take away, the food is OK (3 stars), the service from this dynamic duo was fantastic, and that's why they got the four stars.

Shaudine was attentive, knowledgeable about the entire menu, and helpful in recommending dishes. Overall, we had such delightful meal experiences. We started with their Oysters Rockefeller, which included 6 good-sized oysters topped with creamy spinach and toasted breadcrumbs. Delicious! For my meal, I ordered the Tomahawk Prime Steak ($130). Although the restaurant is à la carte, the tomahawk comes with a medley of broccoli, fingerling potatoes, and multi-colored carrots. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the table side searing presentation by their Chef was awe-inspiring. Likewise, the steak and vegetables were complemented by tasty truffle butter. My friend ordered the lamb chops, accompanied by blackberry compote. We also shared the Brussel sprouts, which were also quite delicious and savory; cooked with onions and bacon. For dessert, we shared a lava cake with vanilla ice cream... and Chocolate martinis as an accompaniment. The restaurant ambiance was curated and sheik. Large, round booths with nice fabrics, well-appointed details and lighting, and a beautiful bar area with a backlit-lucite bar. A nice steakhouse feel. I would like to leave two recommendations: 1. The Bartender should ONLY tend bar... as the role indicates. Not also act as a server for tables beyond the bar. When those of us dining in the main restaurant order drinks, we have to wait for the bartender to finish serving tables before they can return to the bar to make drinks. That is not a good system. 2. There should be jazz or some other music playing in the background to drown out the incessant noise coming from the casino's slot machines (which are only steps away). Music would help to elevate the aesthetic of the steakhouse, while minimizing the casino noise. The manager did visit each table during our time, which was quite a nice touch. She also gave good recommendations on how to reheat and enjoy leftovers. Top notch!

Lots of good heat, but not spicy at all. You gotta try it. Also on my place was some sort of meat, some sort of delicious fish on the bone, a nice hard boiled egg, and some sweet plantains. Along with a small salad. Good meat, good sauce. Love eating meat off the bone, adds so much good flavor. Just a really nice meal. I also got some Sweet Plantain Balls (Caclo) as an app. These things were amazing! I usually don't like plantains, But these were very soft, coated in a tangy, umami powder, again a new thing for me. Overall, I very much enjoyed this place. If you're ever in Dumfries, VA, I would highly recommend you stop by, as this was the best food I had the whole time I was in town!
