Edges were really hard and they were overly sweet, so I just left them. Seafood combo was very salty. The sauce a tangy orange, and walnuts toasted. Chowfun had good texture and the flavor was just right. This is the worst Chinese food I have tried in Woodbridge. The spring rolls had hardly any filling and were mushy. The steamed dumplings had a really thick dough with a ball of too dry beef inside and it all came completely apart so you couldn't get a good bite. The sesame chicken and General Tso's chicken were both over cooked the sauce taste like burnt sugar and the chicken was dried out. I've been getting Hunan D'lite takeout for about four years, and it's always been it. I've tried nearly everything on the menu, but I find myself ordering the classics; beef and broccoli, wonton soup, pork fried rice, sweet and sour chicken (love those veggies!), and of course, the egg rolls are to die for. I only recently created this account, otherwise I would've left a review my first time trying this restaurant. As of today (July 28, 2022) there is still no dining-in, but, if you're at home with no motivation to cook, I highly recommend Hunan D'lite in Occoquan. Used door dash because of coupons and still not worth it. The only thing that was okay was the general tso chicken. The fried rice was very flavorless and the meat was tough. The lo mein noodle was very thick and just again flavorless. The crab Rangoons were the worst of it all. It was super stale, cold, and had ashy black spots all over it, with no sauce. This is hands down some of the worst food I've ever tasted. The calamari is shaped like french fries and appear to be deep fried as they are leaving grease stains on a napkin. They also try to make it appear like you are getting more than you actually are by elevating it on a bed of crunchy noodles that you will never actually eat. The radish and carrot is in a straight vinegar soup. And the Red Thai Curry is repulsive. My dogs wouldn't even touch it. It went straight to the trash and then taken immediately outside as the smell was awful. Such a waste of money. read more

Visiting from out of town, so my experience is based on comparisons from out of state. Quality of food is good maybe even above average. Speed of service was also good. My issue is simply with two dishes and only two dishes. The crab Rangoon was 90% pastry. It's like they forgot to put any in. Second, the egg rolls tasted frozen. Alright so this review is based on no less than THREE encounters with this restaurant. The first time, my husband called in an order to be picked up and I went to the restaurant to pick it up. There was a short wait but nothing crazy. The inside of the restaurant is very quaint and not ornate whatsoever. It was also very quiet inside. I would have preferred some soft music but no big deal. The food was piping hot and it was pretty tasty. Price-wise I'd say it was on-par with most take-out places of this nature. General Tso's is my favorite and this place had pretty good General Tso. Second encounter was a delivery to our home in Lake Ridge. Between placing the call and the order being delivered, I don't think a full 15 minutes passed. It was EXTREMELY fast. The food was good. It was hot. Again, General Tso was great. Spring rolls were a big doughy for me this time. Made a mental note not to order them again. Third encounter was a delivery to our home in Lake Ridge. Took a little longer this time. Maybe 25 minutes. But honestly 25 minutes for delivery is still really freaking fast. This time, I was trying to incorporate some vegetables into my life so I got the mixed vegetable dinner. Unfortunately, this was a total miss for me. There was a really strange flavor that I could not put my finger on until my brother-in-law pointed out that the veggies were probably frozen (bingo. that's exactly what they tasted like... perhaps a tiny bit freezer burnt). My husband got the General Tso's and some Lo Mein and fried rice. He enjoyed everything. We also tried out some potstickers... they were like just ok. Nothing spectacular. Overall, we'll probably order from them again due to just how conveniently located they are to our house (and also how freaking fast they are) but we'll probably just stick with General Tso and fried rice. I have been going to and ordering from this restaurant for over 2 years but the last 4 times I have ordered from them things have been screwed up. Once my friend went to pick up our order and when he got back to the house the restaurant called to ask if we planned on picking up our order, when I said we already had she hung up. After looking in the bag I realized they gave us the wrong order. I called back to let them know, she told me that it was my "husband's" fault for not knowing my number (he knows it) and to bring the food back. So we take it back and get our bag, get home and his Orange Chicken is actually General Tso's! So I call back to let them know and she proceeds to tell me "it's the same chicken just different taste" Yes ma'am that would be the point, otherwise you would just put chicken on the menu and I would hope it's a taste I like! Skip forward to today... Order the lunch specials, they show up with no soup or egg roll. Not really that big of a deal but that's what I ordered and that's what I want. So we call and the lady again argues that she knows who I am and it would have been right but my "husband" (apparently all men that she talks to are my husband) ordered and said blah blah lunch special and not the number. During this conversation of all their current downfalls she hangs up on me twice! Still apparently my fault! I ordered the Mu shu chicken which "was" my favorite., under one of my pancakes i noticed something rather odd so I flipped it over. It was s steamed dead cockroach smashed into the pancake. I called them to tell them the problem, and the woman on the other line said "Oh sorry let me send some more pancakes". Um no thank you was my answer, I said I would like a refund that I would not want to eat anything else from there until they took care of their cockroach problem. Where she told me that she couldn't do a refund and I was pretty much out of luck.
