I'm VERY late to posting this review but, I used to go to this salon constantly. Got an ombre red dye (picture below) yes it was amazing. BUT whatever bleach they used KILLED my hair. 2 weeks later ALL the dye was gone and my hair felt like hay. Ended up cutting my hair to a pixie to fix it. THEY MESSED THAT UP TOO!! I looked stupid!!! Never go to this place. Yes proper salons can be expensive but it is WORTH IT!! (I used proper conditioner and dye treatments to keep the red, it disappeared anyways.) Everytime I got my short hair "fixed" here I'd go to school the next day and my friends would offer to fix it for me bc it always looked horrid. read more

Pros: most of the stylists are amazing and know their craft. I get my hair colored, cut and styled pretty often and my color has always turned out just like I asked. Cons: time management at this salon is awful. You cannot make an appointment or call ahead so you have to wait. I have gone at different times of the day 10am, noon, 1pm, 4 pm etc and have always had at least a 45 minute to an hour wait. They never have enough stylists ( I've gone mostly week days). The last time I was there I waited 45 minutes, the stylists dyed my roots then left me sitting there for an hour and a half waiting while she did another client. I wanted a hair cut and style but had to go to work. Another stylist ended up rinsing me out just so I could leave half finished. The time before that I waited an hour and a half only to be told they were not doing any more color that day ( 4 pm). If you have all the time in the world this place is great, otherwise find somewhere else. read more

I will literally only go to Jessica to get my haircut! She is AMAZING. I followed her to this Bangs location after she became manager and moved from Williamsville. She knows that I love big bouncy tousled hair and that is just what I walked out with today. I wanted my ends dusted and some layers put in and she did that and even more! She is super consultative and makes sure you're ok with what she does and uses in your hair prior to doing so, which is great just to make sure she and you are on the same page. Often there is miscommunication between a stylist and client and you certainly don't have to worry about that with Jessica. She is super friendly and attentive, also HONEST. I didn't want any unnecessary length taken off as I am trying to grow my hair and she was honest about what I needed and I thank her for that. This Bangs location is pretty nice inside and super light and bright and very inviting- Jess told me that all of the other locations will eventually be remodeled to look the same which will be great. They carry one of my favorite brands- Amika and that is a plus in my book! Also, Jessica is not at all pushy with product sales and is more informative if anything, she showed me some products that I regret not buying while I was there. I will be back in about 2 months for another cut with Jess. When I went in she was with another client and I was told it would be about an hour- I didn't at all mind! She is sooo worth the wait. I went across the street to Target and did some damage so that hour was honestly like nothing. I also drove from Elmwood Village here so that should say a lot. Thanks Jess!! read more

All I have to say is Laura Lenk (a stylist at this location) is a master at her craft and a saint. I took my 2 yr old son to get his first haircut at Bangs on Halloween day. The employees were dressed festively and were very welcoming. My son was not being very cooperative as a first timer and Laura was incredibly patient and you could tell that she genuinely loved children by the way she was talking to Logan and tag teaming with me to get to him sit still and trust her. Not one time was she ever frustrated or annoyed. Despite my son wiggling the entire time and continuing to lean away from her scissors and clippers, Laura gave him a VERY even haircut. After we got home and I could check out his hair, I called the salon back to make sure to she knew how talented she was to give a great cut to a wiggleworm. I would highly recommend requesting Laura for any haircut because she is a master at her craft and an overall incredibly nice person! read more

I wasn't going to write a review, but after trying to wear my hair straight I'm just pissed.... because I can't. I've had my hair thinned out before. This has NEVER happened anywhere else. A large chunk of my hair was chopped off. It will take probably 6 months to grow back, unless I cut all my hair this length to even it out. I often go to BANGS because of price and convenience. I never leave there 100% satisfied due to less than great highlights, but I'm not very picky, so I just go on with life. This isn't going to ruin my world, but I'm annoyed enough that I needed to say something! I won't be back. read more

WORST SALON EXPERIENCE EVER. THIS SALON RUINED MY HAIR. AND DYED MY HAIR BLACK WHEN I ASKED FOR BLONDE. THE DIDNT EVEN REFUND IT Before coming to this salon to get my hair dyed, I had very healthy hair. I showed the stylist a picture of exactly what I wanted, and explained to her exactly what I wanted done to my hair (I asked for/showed her blonde, with darker roots; my roots were currently quite dark) the stylist told me that my hair would turn out very similar to the picture. The stylist proceeded to give me very chunky highlights, and dye the remaining hair black using a color Meant for grey hairs, so it was a very unnecessary strong color(my hair was very light Carmel brown(and blonde at the ends) with dark roots, before she died it) the end result was black hair with uneven sloppy blonde highlights. The salon charged us $80(were originally going to charge us $200), and told us they would fix it tomorrow. I had an appointment for 4:00, and I received a call at 3:50 saying that the stylist who would be doing my hair was running late and would not be there until 4:30. On our way we stopped at a different salon to get a second opinion. The new salon told me I should just get a lot of highlight and my hair would be fixed. I went back to bangs and the stylist refused to put in the highlights I asked for. She said she wanted to use a few other (damaging!!) products on my hair and showed me an example of what my hair would turn out like(she showed me a girl with BROWN hair,,, I wanted blonde!) In addition ALL of the other employees in the salon were rudely staring at me. At this point I did not want ANYONE in this terrible salon to touch my hair. So I asked for a refund, they refused to refund me after I spend $80 on a hair color completely different from what I asked for, had TERRIBLE customer service and dyed my hair BLACK when I asked for BLONDE!! Because the stylist dyed my hair black, I needed to be bleached, which completely ruined my hair!! I later went to a different salon and they completely fixed my hair and did everything I wanted to it(the salon that fixed my hair was NOT a bangs salon) THIS SALON DYED MY HAIR BLACK WHEN I WANTED BLONDE, COMPLETELY DISTROYED AND DID NOT REFUND ME!!!!!! If possible I would rate this salon ZERO stars. I asked the women who cut my hair to leave it so when it's dry it is resting below my shoulders and she completely butchered my hair and it is not even TOUCHING my shoulders. I cannot believe this is a customer based business where the employees don't do what is asked for them. Then she said "she showed me where it would fall on my back" as if I can see my back. I would rather buy a wig then be see with this hair cut. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE-Walked in with my daughter yesterday. My daughter wanted her hair cut by someone different and maybe a new style. First time there in about 10 years. No one greeted us when we came in. Then we realized that there was a sign-in sheet at the counter so we signed in. We sat there for about 25 minutes (my daughter timed it) and finally we decided to leave because again, no one had acknowledged our presence. We crossed off our names from the list and as we walked out the door, someone yelled "hello" as the door closed behind us. Needless to say, we did not walk back in. They have a waiting room full of people and stylists either go in back room immediately after they finish a customer or they blow dry a current customer for about 30 minutes! This used to be my absolute favorite salon but lately, they've been awful. I went in recently with a picture of a girl with very light brown hair with dark brown peekaboo highlights. I have brown hair so it shouldn't have been a hard feat. Well the stylist fed me some line about how she couldn't do it because I have boxed dye on my hair so she had to redo my color and then give me highlights? None of this made any sense to me but I just went with it. $200 later and my hair not only looks awful, but it looks NOTHING like the picture. I went in looking for a nice summer brown and left with my most bronzey highlights I have ever seen. I've been going to bangs since 2008 and I will not be returning. read more

I will never be returning to this location or any other Bangs locations. I had my hair done and paid $150 and after a week the highlights have washed out and faded drastically. They had to bleach before they could put in the color.. now the color has faded in patches to where you can see the bleach spots. when I called to ask how long it should be lasting they told me it will start to fade after 3-4 weeks. Then after I explained the situation they started saying oh well that's typical everyone is different but had me come in to look at it. When I went in they refused to do anything now changing and saying they only have a one week policy and if I was unhappy and came In within the week they would have done something. I'm sorry I was 2 days after the week and I regardless don't think that the color should be this bad after a week!!!! NEVER WILL I RECOMMEND THIS SALON to ANYONE!!!!! read more

Went in for a trim and shampoo today and the girl that cut my hair did a fine job with that and there were no issues there. But after patiently waiting an hour for my turn, the second I was taken back to the chair, I couldn't help but feel rushed. She washed my hair in about two minutes and I could tell she was just trying to get it done. Anytime I get my bangs cut, the stylist always takes her time and makes sure to only take off a little at a time and keep asking if I want to go shorter. This time, I was lucky she didn't cut them too short because she took off a decent amount without asking me in between if I thought the length was good. Luckily as I said before the length turned out fine. But I was still disappointed in my service today. What I wanted never takes anymore than 30min tops. I'm confused as to why she thought she needed to get it done in half that time after I heard her tell her other customer it would take 30min for her color to set and no one was waiting after me. No good reason to be rushed out. I left with my hair cut the right length, but looking an absolute mess to the point I had to put it up in a ponytail because she didn't completely dry my hair. She asked if I wanted anything else done, but her tone told me if I asked for anything else id be a bother, so I skipped asking for my hair straightened. Won't be coming back to this location, but hopefully the other ones will have more friendly and patient workers. Came here to get a haircut for my 12 year old son. I was told it would be an hour wait. We decided to wait. I am still here waiting....2 hours and 25 minutes later. Totally unacceptable. Poor girl who was just called up for her haircut waited 2 1/2 hours. She was also told an hour. Lesson learned. I will NEVER return here. They have no sense of urgency. I have gone up to the desk 3 times After waiting the initial hour to be told 20 more minutes every time. Save yourself hours of time and go elsewhere.
