The stylist never acknowledged that she was running behind or offered any apology, she instead peeked around the corner and said "I see you" like a teenager. I was so frustrated that my appointment would start at least an hour late that I chose to leave. She then marked me as a 'No Show' with the Square Appointment Software. Should have walked out. In addition to the worst haircut of my life (cost $75) I was left waiting almost 40mins upon arriving for my appointment while the stylist/owner took a personal call (not an emergency). Came in with shoulder length hair. Asked for a messy bob with side bangs. Made sure she knew that I was required to pull it back for work. I got a mullet! and I cannot pull it back for work (without many bobby pins- thankfully I have those). Layers are not blended, and it is so short around my ears that the hair doesn't stay tucked behind and sticks out. On the way out she said "you might look like a mushroom for a little bit but give it a month to look good"... What?! And "Well, you are not crying, so that's good". My sweet daughter has curly beautiful hair. She was treating herself for a hair "trim" at this salon. She was specific that "only an inch" to be cut off. Her hair is curly, it looks longer wet. So an inch cut will look more like 2" cut when it dries. The stylist cut several inches off her bangs and her ends. The poor thing has no bangs left. He left her with 4" cut off. It was unevenly cut as well. She is devastated. You would think a stylist has learned about all types of hair and how to appropriately style/cut it. To add insult to injury, the stylist cut several of her moles at the back of her neck. She came home in pain and bleeding. She was told this is typical and was provided with Band-Aids. If this is typical, I sure do hope they keep their styling tools sterilized because they are sharing blood from other clients to another client. To add insult to injury, we called to complain since my daughter is shy and didn't speak up for herself when at the salon. She didn't realize the damage until her hair was dry (remember: you wouldn't know with curly hair until it is dry). The owner Michele was unsympathetic or apologetic. She was rude and completely careless for how my daughter felt. No refunds, no empathy, and didn't offer any suggestions or help in any way. It will take a long time for my daughters hair to grow out. In the meantime, she is embarrassed and feels ugly. A terrible horrible experience that was just compounded to even worse by calling and speaking with the owner! If I could give a "0" that is what I would of preferred. A "1" is too much for this owner and establishment. read more

An affordable Aveda concept salon in Buffalo? This is too good to be true! The salon is cute, clean, and modern. For $32-42 you get a wash, cut, and style/finish with Aveda products. Wow...that's the price you'd pay for a Supercuts haircut in Seattle or Boston but you wouldn't get the wash or style. Um...can we say this hair cut resulted in a happy ending? :) Vinny did an amazing job consulting me with the proper hair cut suitable for my face shape and spring/summer hair wearing intentions (i.e. I plan on running around like a wild banshee outside like the sun-worshipping fool I can be in warmer weather so a no-fuss haircut is a MUST). I'll definitely be back to get a facial here next time. read more

I really wish I had an option to give 0 stars. I got my hair color corrected and dyed here in MARCH 2014 (that's right, MARCH 2014) and more than a year later I'm still suffering from the sorry job Michele did to my hair. Basically my hair was a total disaster - it was bleached blonde, then dyed to dark brown, and then black, bleached again, and then dyed medium brown. At this point my hair was washed out medium brown, and I wanted to cover everything up with a darker shade of brown so the damage is less noticeable. What did Michele do? Bleached my entire head of hair again, of course! TWICE!! I asked her please not to, but she did it anyway, and dyed it some sort of ashy medium-to-dark brown. What part of "dark brown" did she not understand? Not only that, she did a half-ass ombré which I didn't even ask for, so she bleached the ends of my hair once more, which makes it three times. My hair instantly started melting off after the first wash at home. The "ombré" didn't even show until MARCH 2015. Wait, it's not an ombré. It's a block of split ends that's kinda red, kinda blonde, kinda light brown. Is this real life? I did get occasional trims, including an actual haircut where I got a lot of layers so as to remotely hide the damage Michele caused. That didn't help either. She ruined all of my hair, there's no way to even fix it. The hairdresser who cut my hair didn't even know what to do with my hair when she first saw it. She asked me who my dye job was done by, and said they should be shut down. And she laughed at the sorry excuse for a dye job and cute little attempt at an ombré. Oh, also, I was told the whole process was going to be $80. I paid $200 for the dye job, and another $50+ for the products she literally FORCED me to buy. As I left the salon, Michele told me, "your hair looks beautiful!" Your dye job sucks. Your Aveda shit sucks. You can't really do a blowout, either. It's just really, really, really unfortunate. The business hours on website are incorrect. I called based on the web hours listed. I got an answering machine and left message ...but no call back to my message well after the shop was open, so I called again. I was told the entire afternoon was" open" so I made an afternoon appointment. I was there 10 min early but alarmed when the only stylist there walked out with a customer "just" prepped. I was told my appointment may be 15 min late. 20 minutes later, my wait was estimated to be an additional 10 minutes. I didn't have time to find out if the second time delay estimate was anymore accurate than the first. I had to leave. The stylist, and her customer were the ONLY people there. This hasn't been my experience In the past, when I had an appointment with Vinney. Never a wait. I was always in and out with a fantastic hair cut within 45- to an hour. I arrived 10 minutes early for a color and cut. I waited half an hour to even be set up for the color. The owner was arguing with the reception guy in front of her clients. Very unprofessional. Hair dye was all over my ears and forehead. Very sloppy. I then waited another 25 minutes for my cut, sitting in the chair with wet hair. My hair was cut by michele, the owner as my girl was not available. I asked specifically to keep the length and she ended up cutting almost 5 inches off. I was very upset and she made it seem like my fault. After 3 hours at the salon I left with dye on my ears and a terrible cut. Avoid at all costs. read more

I wish I had read the reviews both on here and on Google before making my appointment with Michele because even though some of them aren't recent they all tell the same story. I went in for a cut and color having just moved back to the area. The cut was okay and the color was good because it was a formula from my previous place. I thought she was really nice, though I was there for well over two hours. For my follow up appointment, I had a 1pm appt. I got there at 12:45pm. At 1:25pm she said she was sorry and it would be another 5 minutes. At 1:45pm I left. I told her I couldn't wait anymore and she apologized but continued cutting someone's hair. She should have set the scissors done for a second and speak with me if she was a true professional. At 2pm she called (which led me to believe she didn't finish with her client until then and I would've waited over an hour for her) and apologized and said the client had alot of hair to cut off (lame excuse) and would hope that I would give her a second chance and offered a free pedicure. So after giving it some thought, I decided to give her another chance. A week later, my appt was for 10am. The first of her day so no excuse of the previous person taking longer than expected. It never dawned on me that she would be late to work. And that's exactly what happened. I showed up a couple minutes before 10am and the receptionist said she would be just a few minutes. Over 10 minutes later I left. I told the receptionist I had waited over 40 minutes the last time and I wasn't going to do that again. He said he had just gotten off the phone with her and she'd be there in 2 minutes if I could just wait longer. I said no, I'm not doing this again. He had the gall to tell me "Well that's your choice, I can't stop you." REALLY? THAT'S how you handle the situation?? House of Edward scissor hands! Sent my wife here on her day off and called me at work in tears because her trim turned into a disaster. This guy Carl took off almost 5inches of hair cut her bangs almost completely. Cut her multiple times with trimmers. Turns out they also specialize in Mole removal. When confronted the owner told me tough shit. No refunds and no compensation. I was told by the owner and I quote "these things happen all the time". WHAT!!!??!!! Then she hung up on me. I have wild and curly hair, and usually just shake my head when I meet someone who "knows exactly how to cut my hair"....until I met Michele! For a few years it seemed as though my hair had just stopped growing. No matter what it was never far past my shoulders, and that baffled me as I had always had very long hair most of my life. I had read that that can happen as you get older, bad haircut, hormones and whatnot, so I had just kind of accepted it. And then I needed a new place to go, cue Michele's salon. I told her that length was my goal, and I didn't want much cut off, and then Michele proceeded to consult with me for about 20 minutes beforehand about what was going on and why I wasn't seeing new growth. I just smiled and nodded and figured that this was going to be like all the rest. The first time, she cut SO much off that I almost started crying. It was so short. I was so mad. But fast forward a month and I noticed that my hair was already to where it was when I got it cut. Whoa, that doesn't happen. And then a few more months go by and my hair is finally growing again!! The next time I went to see her she said, "I wasn't sure I was going to see you again!" and I answered, "I wasn't either!" But here we are a couple of years later and now I can't stop my hair from growing. Sorry for the novel, but needless to say, Michele is the best! She is so knowledgeable and a total pro. 4/5/2014 - I went to Michele's with the hair color formula in hand from my hometown of Providence Rhode Island. I came out looking like Ronald McDonald. Michele hurried through and was rude. I've had good cuts in the past, but it seems like the stylists are always coming and going. This last time I had a cut with the owner, Michele. There was no mention when I booked that this would cost $10 extra, and I hated the cut. I showed her pictures and described what I wanted but I don't think she paid much attention. I am new to the area and I like to use Aveda salons but they can often be high maintenance and pricey. This salon is low key and Michele, who did my haircut even described the salon as a place that focuses on being low maintenance. I got a good haircut that was not expensive in terms of an Aveda salon. Michele seemed to listen to what I was looking for and seemed to care about what I wanted done to my hair.
