Do not walk, RUN to this bakery. If you are looking for something new and delicious, you will not be disappointed. The standouts were the ube latte and the crème brûlée cruffin. The ube latte was perfectly sweet with a strong ube flavor. The crème brûlée cruffin had a top that was so crispy from the toasted sugar that I couldn't cut into it, and the bottom was just stuffed full of cream. It was super messy to eat and impossible to share- next time I am getting my own. We also had the pandan coconut cupcake, which was good but not as exciting as the cruffin. The pandan and coconut were both equally strong flavors- I liked it better than my husband did. The Thai tea cake in a cup was also excellent, but outshone by the cruffin. They were out of a few other things we wanted to try by 11am on a Saturday, so get there early if you want something specific. Cute locally owned Viet-French bakery on Colfax. You'll love the dessert and coffee options here, but will be even more enamored by their community-oriented mindset and kind staff. There's a free parking lot behind the store, where you can even take advantage of the back entrance. The store isn't meant to be industrial chic or hipster, offering up a few communal picnic tables against faded white walls. What decor is present is probably artwork from a local artist on sale. Other packaged goods from other small businesses are also on offer. This means your eyes will immediately be drawn to their display cases of gorgeous pastries and the kitchen churning them out behind a glass divider. For the traditionalist, you can get a standard variety of croissants and muffins. But be a little adventurous. You might have seen their ultra buttery Ube and Pandan scones around town for sale at other businesses, and if you're a fan of those Southeast Asian flavors, be sure to try out one of their delectable cupcakes, cakes, or tarts. They're rich yet not too sweet (IYKYK) and pack a visual and gustatory punch. I pretty much never leave without getting one of their Strawberry Croissants too, a perfectly sized sweet treat of flaky pastry with light cream and fresh strawberries. Of their drinks and sandwiches, I'm a big fan of their Vietnamese Egg Coffee, but the Ube Latte was a bit too sweet for me. The pastries are beautiful, and it's wonderful to see a Vietnamese-owned bakery bringing French and Asian-inspired creations to the Denver area. The space is cozy, welcoming, and a great place to relax with a cup of coffee. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee because, as a Vietnamese customer, I was excited to taste a familiar flavor from home. Unfortunately, it didn't taste like traditional Vietnamese coffee. It was quite mild and lacked the bold, rich flavor and sweetness that Vietnamese coffee is known for. I truly hope the owner will consider refining the recipe to make it more authentic. It would make the experience even better for Vietnamese customers looking for the taste of home, while also introducing others to what real Vietnamese coffee is supposed to taste like. It was good but I was expecting a little more. I've had Banh and Butter on my list for awhile but I'm rarely in the area. I think I built it up in my head so it sat on a pedestal from all the buzz I've heard. Everything was fine but again, expected something wow worthy. We came here for lunch, love that everything is to go. I was sad to see the traditional cold cut banh mi sold out for the day I pivoted and went with lemongrass pork sandwich. Similar fixing to banh mi, it tasted fine but the pork was rough and tasted ok. They have gorgeous pastries and Vietnamese coffee drinks, I would come back for one of those. We split a cup of cakes (cute!), Boston Thai Tea. Flavor was spot on and appreciated that it wasn't too sweet. Stopped in with my family after a Dey at the Zoo.... about a 15 min drive away. The pastries are so pretty and the ones we ate were very good. They had Bánh mi sandwiches , bowls, sweets, coffee drinks, wonderful almond croissants. We had all of the above :) It's a small area with about 4-5 tables but a nice and comfortable. This is probably the best bakery that I have been to since Rheinlander in Arvada, but completely different. I got several things to eat, including the Creme Brulee Cruffin, pandan coconut cupcake, and Thai tea cake. The Thai tea cake was delicious and had some interesting flavors to it. The Thai tea creme with the chocolate was delicious. The pandan coconut was a little dry for me and I don't think I would buy that again. The Creme Brulee Cruffin might be one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. I would literally drive to the other side of Colorado for this cruffin. It was perfect. It was crispy on the top and creamy in the middle. If you go here you need to order this, and you can thank me later. I also got the ube latte and it was amazing. This should be on repeat!! The Banh Mi sandwiches are delicious but the sweets are the real gem here. Park in the back to avoid the hassle of colfax. It's easy to get distracted by all of the dessert options in the bakery case. Pastries. Cakes. Cream. Fruit. It's all here in combinations that will make you say, OMG. We had a Pain au chocolate, ube black sesame cake, egg nog and ginger cake and passion fruit cake. All were fantastic and unique in flavor. We had all the coffees but the ube foam makes for a whole new experience. The chicken banh mi Sammie's heated are so good. Love the pickled onions and aoli on a homemade baguette. It's hard not to eat the entire thing. We went a bit crazy and spent $70 but it was worth every penny. Seating is limited. Four tables and some small spaces for individual dining. We see why this place has such high ratings, the creme brulee cruffin was my favorite, super fluffy and buttery layers in the inside with a sweet crispy topping. I would come back to just get that again. The Vietnamese cold brew with Ube foam was really good, super strong Viet coffee taste, however, there wasn't much Ube foam as I would have liked so I probably wouldn't order that one again. My husband ordered the banh mi sandwich with the everything bagel, which we thought was a genius idea! The taste was good and they add A LOT of jalapenos, so perfect for the spicy lovers. The only thing I'll mention is that it's a lot messier of a sandwich than a regular banh mi, but it was worth the try. Service was super friendly and nice. Finally made it in here!! Easy to miss, but once you find it you'll never leave! Cute little place where they support local artist and display their work, along with indoor plants. It has a small retail area for trinkets and treats. Came here before dinner, since it closes at 4pm. So no better way than to have dessert first then dinner. It was late on a Saturday, so not many options were left, but good enough to leave a pandan cupcake for me! I also ordered a Iced Ube latte to go with it. My friend order one also along with a Mango Coco Pandan cake. We both devoured it there and left no room to speak! The pandan cupcake was dense, moist, creamy, and overpowered by sugar. It was perfect. My friend didn't say much. She was enjoying her cake so much, that only a bit of cream left on the side of her mouth lol. Our Ube latte was refreshing perfect after a nice treat. We had no room for desserts since we just finished lunch, but we did not want an airport meal when this place looked fabulous. We ordered 2 of the lemongrass grilled pork banh mi sandwiches to go. The sandwiches were packed with many tasty ingredients that made us smile. The meat was flavorful and not tough, pickled veggies were crisp and had a good taste while the baguettes were slightly crunchy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. A solid construction of a banh mi sandwich. I don't have the patience to bake goods, but Banh & Butter Bakery Cafe has dialed it in and nailed it. They have a nice assortment pastries and baked goods. Their menu is located at the front of the store right above their sale items. We got the below items: Strawberry croissant ($3) - tasted crispy and the strawberries were fresh. The cream wasn't overwhelmingly sweet Mixed berry tart ($6.50) - the bottom layer is like a texture that's a bit stiffer than cake, then there's the cream layer, and then the fruits. Honestly doesn't have anything special to it and doesn't taste amazing. I wouldn't get it again Ube foam cold brew ($6.25) - pretty good. Tastes like normal cold brew with a hint of ube Ube foam latte ($6.25) - it wasn't hot when I received it, maybe a bit hotter than room temp. It tastes like sweet milk with ube flavoring. Definitely do not recommend Egg and ham croissant ($11.50) - 10/10 for me. The seasoning they used for the egg tastes really good. It's nicely buttered as well. Croissants were super fresh and crispy. Would definitely recommend getting if you're wanting food items. Probably wouldn't come back here again unless I'm craving for a killer breakfast croissant which I'm not often craving. We've been fans of Bahn & Butter Bakery since it opened. The strawberry croissants are the perfect size for my kids and yummy. I had heard amazing thing about this place and love supporting small family-run businesses and this place did not disappoint. I was ready for lunch and ordered the Grilled Chicken Banh Mi. I was blown away! The chicken was so flavorful and fresh. The best part was that the chicken was shredded unlike other places which often have large pieces of meat that fall out with each bite. The best part was the toasted bread. Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. This was topped with the most flavorful pickled vegetables. The carrots were not shredded but rather julienned so you actually had a hearty bite and could taste the carrot. This is my new go-to Banh Mi place and the price is very reasonable for this quality. We drove up north to try this place. The bakery offers ample parking at the back, which is very convenient. The space is cute, clean, and has a welcoming vibe. The staff were friendly and helpful. We sampled a variety of treats, including cakes, cruffin, and the strawberry croissants. Everything was delicious and not overly sweet with the strawberry croissant being the standout for me. It's a little pricey for the portion size, but definitely worth it as a treat. Maybe next time, we'll try their sandwiches!
