    Vietnamese tuna salad banh mi
    Andy H.

Good Vietnamese food is hard to find in downtown. This little mom and pop shop opened within the last year and we need more like it #supportlocal The bread makes or breaks the banh mi. I didn't make up the rules! However, I will say their artisan like bread is different from your traditional banh mi but it just works. One might say "elevates" the dish. Get the pork banh mi

Sesame Sandwiches is an adorable, Vietnamese-inspired sandwich shop. The cutest little storefront reminds you of something you'd walk by in a big city on either coast. Though small, they are mighty in portions and big flavors! I've had this place on my radar for far too long, but life got in the way. Street parking during the day shouldn't be too difficult. Keep in mind they only have a handful of seats, maybe eight in total? Textbook neighborhood sandwich shop. Tables are small, but you could still snag one if you want to dine in like I did! If there's Vietnamese iced coffee on a menu there's a 110% chance I'm ordering it. Be careful because this stuff is strong, but boy is it addictive! My pro tip is not skipping out on their crispy rolls either; they are crispy, crunchy deliciousness! Saigonese Cold Cut ($14) // Pate, char siu pork, premium Vietnamese deli pork roll. Their banh mi's come with pickled daikon & carrots, cucumber, jalapeno, cilantro, mayo, maggi sauce. Oh my gawdddd, this was a monster juicy sandwich! The bread provides that texture you'd expect in a good banh mi. My only qualm (which is why I couldn't commit to a full 5-stars right off the bat) was how wet the sandwich was. I never thought a sandwich could have "too much sauce" on it, but that was the main issue here. Eating the sandwich was a chore, I used a new napkin after each bite because it was drippinggg. Overall, I still picked up on the salty meats and acidic daikon, but it was hard to get over how saucy the sandwich was. That aside, I absolutely love checking out new small businesses exactly like Sesame Sandwiches. I'm planning to bring my wife soon when we're in the neighborhood. I highly recommend checking them out for a killer lunch!

I was excited to see Sesame Sandwiches had opened in a quiet stretch of 22nd Ave, though somehow it took me far too long to make it over. While engaged in a bit of a mental health wellness stroll the other day, I stopped in to grab lunch. It's a cute, small shop with seating for a few inside, and a couple tables outside. The service was friendly and helpful. My sandwich was ready in ~5 minutes and then I was on my way. I got the recommended sticky pork, and it was pretty flavorful and tender. I did find the Maggi a bit too dominant (couldn't pick up on the spicy mayo by comparison), so I will request less next time. (I'm sure it did not help my cause that I managed to shake the sandwich every which way walking home, really soaking the bread. Ha.) Sesame is now open some limited evenings until 8pm, so aside from a lunch time stroll, I think it will make for a nice affordable break from cooking on busier days.

TBH I did not step foot in this place, nor have contact with a server. We ordered catering from this place for our office lunch for around 50 people. We only ordered the sandwiches. So it may have been better in the restaurant. A lot of times, catering does not give a true measure of the food. I had the Stick Pork Hanh Mi. It was a glazed pork belly, pickled daikon, carrots, cucumber, jalapeno, mayo and Maggi Sauce. Personally, I found the sandwich dry, bland and watery from the veggies. With three sauces listed on the description, I expected it to have a bit more flavor. The pork glaze itself was barely there and without enough sauce the watery veggies over powered the sandwich. What I did like was that they were very accommodating by labeling all the sandwiches and adapting for individual needs by removing jalapenos for selected sandwiches.

Crackling pork bahn mi - so good!

Placed an order for a friend to pick-up. Good customer service over the phone and it was all correct. The crackling pork bahn mi, a special during Mile High Asian Food Week was delicious and spam musubi had great flavor. The bread had good texture, not too crunchy or chewy like some places. Would recommend this spot especially if you are near City Park, Denver Zoo, or Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Appreciated their friendliness and efficiency. Will plan to order again!

Finally made it to Sesame Sandwiches! The 5 spice tofu bowl was so flavorful. The crispy yet light tofu was cooked perfectly. Vietnamese iced coffee was a perfect treat. I will be back for the sticky pork sandwich next.

Very friendly service. The staff member that greeted me walked me through the menu and introduced herself and welcomed me in. They just opened a few days ago so weren't serving breakfast sandwiches yet but had a nice offering of Banh Mi sandwiches and other traditional sandwiches for around $11 plus tax. They also offer a daily selection of pastries. I ordered the chicken Bahn Mi. The chicken was tender and had good flavor and the bread was incredibly tasty and crunchy. There was a nice portion of the pickled veggies and their sauce had good flavor, I was a little disappointed to see how the Vietnamese iced coffee was made -- it was poured straight out of premade bottle rather than being house made. I will definitely be returning to try some of their other sandwiches. 4.5 stars

2 sticky pork sandwiches & 1 turkey avocado. Fresh orange juice & a Vietnamese ice coffee.

Food 10/10 delicious! Customer service 10/10. Vibes in the cafe, 20/10. It was super easy to order & customize, cashier was a sweetie, & they were jamming to really good music. The space is small, but I love how cozy it felt.

Omg their bahn mi's are sooooooo good! Like I didn't expect them to be as good as they were. Like the sauce they use is like creamy and tart and makes the sandwich the perfect moistness lol. Also the bread is phenomenal too. Chewy and not too crispy where it scratches the rough of your mouth. The shop location is really small and I went there when no one else was in line so I can imagine being in there with other customers it might feel a little claustrophobic. But the food is still great and it's probably more cost effective to have a smaller location with Denver ridiculous real estate prices being so high so I get it.

You order at the counter, grab a number, and then find a table. Seating was filling up quickly, but we managed to snag one. I went with the Focaccia & Mozzarella, and wow. The house-made focaccia might be some of the best I've ever had, soft, fresh, and with that perfect bounce you want from focaccia. It's filled with fresh mozzarella and spinach pesto, and I added chicken for extra protein. The sandwich is huge, easily big enough to split with someone. The sandwich itself is on the pricier side ($17 + $6 for chicken), but the quality is there. You can also add prosciutto for less, which I'd definitely consider next time. The house pickles on the side were gas. We also grabbed a half loaf of sourdough for around $6, which I thought was a great option. My fiancée and I sometimes struggle to finish a full loaf, so being able to buy half was perfect. I had some toasted with breakfast the next morning, and the sourdough was excellent too. They also have a great-looking pastry selection, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to work my way through the other sandwiches, both grilled and cold. If you love sandwiches, Leven Deli is worth the stop.

The coconut latte was also a surprise because usually restaurant coffees are meh, but it was VERY good. IF YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE ONE THING FROM THIS REVIEW LET IT BE THIS: GET THE TAHINI BROWNIE. I've never had anything like it- crunchy, soft, moist, DELICIOUS. And so worth every penny. Will absolutely be back this place is so cute and great for a casual breakfast or lunch

Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but they use premium-quality ingredients that really set them apart. The bread on their sandwiches is fantastic, and they've recently started using beef tallow for their French fries, chicken sandwiches, and wings which takes the flavor to another level. They also offer gluten-free options, making it a great choice for everyone. It's a smaller establishment, so be patient if there's a wait it's 100% worth it. The customer service is beyond what I've experienced at some high-end restaurants. I had the turkey chimney and I found it very good. Lots of meat and vegetables. The bread felt very fresh. Though plentiful, the turkey felt a bit basic (compared to the ham). I also sampled the caprese sandwich (which is split open--not a chimney, but the same bread). Once again, the veggies really shown through here. Next time, we would have the basalmic glaze on the side as it was a bit heavy for our tastes and soaked through a bit. The cheese was hearty. There was a slight miscommunication about our two other meals, for kids. One was correct (the PB&J). However, I think they toasted the bread? It was a bit more crunchy than we would have expected instead of soft. This, unfortunately, made it unpalatable for one kid. I thought it tasted good, but the toasting (or stale bread?) wasn't the best choice. The other was supposed to be a ham sandwich, plain. But instead we got a ham, havarti, and egg chimney (which, looking over the receipt, I was charged for). That one is on me for not correcting the order. This change also made it undesirable for kid #2. Upon my trying it, the bread, a chimney, was equally as good. The ham here was better than my turkey. There was a lot of egg. This was not so good if you're my kid, but probably very good if that's the actual sandwich you want. We had a sweet chimney with nutella. It was very good! Seating is very limited. They have a small-ish space next door. The table we were at was broken, but others looked to be in better shape.
