Some places are so good that you forget to leave a review and take pictures because you're too busy enjoying the food. That perfectly describes La Fillette. We've dined inside before, but yesterday we stopped in to pick up pastries and were reminded why this is one of our favorite bakeries in Denver. We grabbed an éclair, a blueberry muffin, and two ham and Swiss croissants. Every single thing was outstanding. The croissants are incredibly flaky and buttery with the perfect ratio of ham and Swiss, the blueberry muffin was moist without being overly sweet, and the éclair disappeared embarrassingly fast. We always have every intention of taking pictures... and then we take one bite and completely forget. That's probably the best compliment we can give. We loved sitting inside, which is intimate, cozy but still roomy. We are looking forward to sitting outside in their patio space. Staff are also exceptional! read more

WHOA! An amazing French bakery in an unassuming strip mall in Denver where everything is absolutely delicious. GREAT BRUNCH SPOT! Somewhat small on the inside with a cute bar, a variety of both high and low top seating, and a bakery case for quick ordering near the entrance. Service was excellent and it was clean and bright inside. The food was out of this world good. First off, I'm a sucker for a London Fog and this was one of the best I've had. Their cocktails all look super good and will be back to try some. Our table ordered a variety of meals and some pastries to-go. We tried the hash, Benny, stuffed French toast, veggie omelet, sourdough baguette, macarons, croissants, and a pop tart. For the meals: - hash (corned beef is perfectly cooked and it's a nice sized portion with a runny poached egg on top and hollandaise over a crispy/well-seasoned Rösti - very good but a little on the heavy side for me) - benny (loved the flavors of this one and that duck confit was so flavorful and tender. Also, loved the bright, refreshing salad it comes with) - veggie omelet (I didn't try this one, but my brother in law said it was a great, traditional omelet - nice and cheesy) - stuffed French toast (WOWWWW - no notes. It was sublime. The passionfruit stuffing was to die for and it comes with a candied honeycomb. Not something I normally order, but we split it for the table and everyone wanted another one it was so good!) The sourdough baguette is perfect and has little flakes of sea salt on the crust. Crunchy on the outside and soft and spongey on the inside. All of the pastries are delicious and I've got my eye on so many more things for the next visit. 10/10 experience. read more

Amazing! The pastries are so delicious, fresh, and high quality. You can see them baking everything when you walk in. This is such a great brunch spot and since it's a bakery, all the breads are delicious! I really enjoyed the duck confit eggs Benedict which was on croissant toast. The farrow salad had delicious candied almonds and the stuffed French toast was so unique! I loved the passion fruit filling. They also have a build you own breakfast sandwich with a variety of breads, proteins and fillings to choose from which I haven't seen before. My friend and I got there at 10:45 on a Saturday and were seated right away. Service was attentive. The inside is cute and there is also an outdoor patio. I'm ssooo happy I finally got to try La Fillette! I first saw it on Instagram and immediately put it on my "got to try" list. Parking isn't bad, I suggest going during the week. There is a small patio for seating and there is more seating inside in the dining and bar areas. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel very welcome and excited to be there. It's bright and cheery and I love the color scheme and decor. The seats are comfy and the bar is quaint. I got the latte, the green chili skillet and an almond croissant to go (don't tell but it didn't make it out of the parking lot it was so good!) Cute bakery with lots of pastries and baked goods. Menu had a ton of options that it was hard to select what to choose for brunch! There weren't very many GF options but they do their best to cater to dietary restrictions (I think they offered 3-4 options at least). Service was quick and friendly! Food was also very good, but my croissant sandwich was a bit too oily for my liking. Not sure from what though, if it was from the sautéed spinach or warmed up croissant, but it pooled on my plate which shouldn't be the case with a sandwich. This place was very good! We tried several regular croissants, chocolate croissants, almond, gruyere, green chili and cheddar, and the stick bun. Everything was very good. The center of some of the croissants were on the chewy/doughy side, but they were still the best croissants that I've had in Denver so far. The staff seemed friendly, and they seem to have a very extensive drink and breakfast menu. I plan to try it again, perhaps dine in. read more

Friendly service! We hadn't visited since they moved locations and now have sit down space-- with both indoor and outdoor seating. I like that they have a DIY croissant sandwich, but they were out of duck confit (my personal favorite). Their assortment of fillings is perfect. We liked the bagel pretzel, but had to request it be warmed. The pretzel wasn't even room-temp, but cold, which made it really tough. Once it was heated, it was delicious! read more

I have had their baked goods before but wanted to try out their breakfast/brunch items. Everything was delicious. We sat out on the patio with my dog tied to the outside. I'm so happy for their bigger location! Their bread and croissants are amazing. Let alone their brunch. The Benny sounds like a lot, but it is a perfect balance with the duck confit and not an overpowering green chili hollandaise and so delicious on the croissant. The avocado toast sounds pricey, but it comes on a rather large piece of sourdough toast. The service was great, and the food came out rather quickly. Follow your tastebuds (or eyes), nothing will disappoint! Mine led me to the Morning Bun... the mature version of a cinnamon roll. It exchanged icing for a demerara sugar coating and cinnamon swirls for zesty orange notes. ABSOLUTELY WHIMSICALLY DELICIOUS! It's what I imagine Mary Poppins has for breakfast because it instantly fills you with cheer and the positive pep you need to get your day moving n' grooving! Plus, if you dine in, you'll have lovely service in a delightfully designed cafe. You'll feel cute. What a good find for a nice little brunch date! Good food, good atmosphere, but average coffee. We got a cappuccino and a latte but we found both coffee to be in the average side. My cappuccino had sour notes and did not take good. They get their coffee from Logan house and I probably just don't like their roasts. The potato rosti was good and savory. The fondue was cheesy and I believe the potato was made with lard/fat? It was crispy, flaky and tasty. This gets a solid 5. The duck confit is probably the best Benedict I've had in all of Colorado. They used croissants instead of English muffins, the duck meat was tender, and the Benny sauce was delightful. The side salad was refreshing as well. We thought we would like the French toast more but ended up not finishing it since we became full. I would give it a solid 4. Overall it was a great experience but compared to other French cafes, it's hard to justify the price point of their menu. It's in the higher end and we ended up spending 80 dollars. While it's a cluster by the front door, once seated, you find an airy, bright, and open setting. I like the high back community table against the back wall for people watching and space. The bakery case is loaded with treats savory and sweet--croissants, cookies and more with Italian and French roots. I'm a fan of any pastry with green chile, especially here. The breakfast sandwiches earn their stellar rep, but we were there for lighter fare this time. My nitro cold brew packed the requisite punch, sweetened with cream and sugar. Zoom. Mexican coke for the little guy hit the spot. I noted they serve Cerebral as their house brewer. Quality matters with beer, too. So does local. Thanks. My French onion soup arrived piping hot, topped w a thick layer of Gruyere over a disc of bread immersed in broth. Once it cooled down, I dove in. Bull and Bush has some competition in East Denver now for this. Rosti potatoes were a little greasy, but the accompanying Gruyere makes this delicious. My son's eclair came with a dark chocolate stripe and whipped cream filling. Yum. Overall, I like the food, drinks, and space. Prices? Not so much, but inflation is king everywhere. I was infused into the atmosphere as soon as I walked in and was greeted. I chose to sit at the counter-height bar where Peter was stationed. I went with a build your own sandwich- cibatta, over med eggs, bacon jam, and spinach. It was bomb. I enjoyed an espresso that had blueberry notes and looked at their happy hour menu. Everyone was friendly. The place was sparkling clean, and the layout really worked. As you walk in, there is an open area on your left where the magic aka baking happens. The kitchen is towards the back. There's a pastry case dividing the area, which displays some of the fresh options for you to enjoy. The floor opens to the right with seating. There's plenty of room inside and outdoor seating as well. I brought home an almond croissant. It was amazing. This was our second visit, and I can officially say this is the best brunch in Denver. It is a hidden gem in the Mayfair area of Colfax, in a strip mall. Do not be deceived by this. Inside its super city and cozy, all of the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. But the food. O.M.G. We've had the breakfast sandwich that is out of this world, some pastries (they make home made pop tarts, muffins and muffin croissants) among many other things. Brunch today was literally perfect. The BLAT was buttery, soft and I don't know what they do to that bacon but with the garlic aioli, I didn't want it to end. The rosti was crispy and creamy cheese perfection .
